The Sixers in the 2001 postseason where walking on glass since day 1 of the postseason. They were the 1-seed in the East.
Beat the Pacers in 4 games (best of five series back then was the first round). Pacers took game 1. Given, that was an experienced Pacers team who represented the East in the Finals the year before, and had a nice experienced roster, so they were not your usual 8-seed.
Beat the Raptors in 7 games. Sixers were down 2-1 in the series with game 4 in Toronto. And won the series thanks to Carter's game winner not going in in game 7
Beat the Bucks in 7 games. Sixers were down 2-1 in the series with game 4 in Milwakee.
So like, every series, the Sixers always looked like the inferior team but were able to pull through in the end.

They were the kind of team that you can't go by stats or just highlights . You had to see them live. Even after finals years they were just such grinders. Thats why you never hear AI say anything negative because those guys ALWAYS fought their ass off.

Its a private league, not national, its entertainment, so they actually can rig it.
This Sixers squad played so hard and had a great balance of compliment players surrounding AI. They were definitely bought in to what Larry Brown was selling to them, the way they were so scrappy and when they traded Ratliff for Mutumbo, that was huge to have him anchor the defense in the paint against some really good big men. If they didn't run into a stacked Lakers team then they would have had a ring that year
