My one month old passed away suddenly 8 years ago. When we were at the ER I was sitting on the floor desperately praying for the first kind of miracle that she would be ok and recover. As I was praying I remember an overwhelming feeling that I should be praying for peace instead. In that moment I knew she was gone but we would be ok and we did have peace during that trial.
Bless you for sharing that ❤ what beautiful faith you have ❤ In so sorry for your loss but so thankful that the sting of death is truly swallowed up in Christ

How awesome that truth came from the little children! We are told that a lot of our miracles will come from our Earthly Angels and I believe that Heavenly Father works through us to bless and comfort those around us and those in need! Thx for the lessons!! Great once again! Love you guys!! ❤❤🥰
...I get the feeling that Alma (as a young priest of the wicked King Noah)...was uncomfortable (at best)with what he saw going on, though may have been a participant in some of the behaviors....when Abinadi arrived on the scene, Alma could FEEL that he was, indeed, a prophet of God, & was telling the truth, because it correlated with what he'd been feeling, himself...the fact that Alma was also willing to run for his life to escape from the powerful King Noah to return to God through the words of the prophet, Abinadi, indicates he was not "past feeling" ...& READY to "come unto CHRIST"...p.s...even King Noah felt to let Abinadi go, but the others "stirred him up to anger" after the fear of the Lord had come upon him...instead of following his OWN FEELINGS he made a fatal choice to kill a prophet of GOD...what CHOICES ALL are called to make!... And how amazing it is that God sends the VERY PEOPLE we need to help bring each of us into the next phase of our development [or to our condemnation]...GOD is GOOD to us all, allowing each to determine their own destiny....[ & when we make a bad choice, may we QUICKLY utilize the gift of repentance, through our Savior, JESUS CHRIST, He who provides a way "for our escape"]....may we make GOOD CHOICES, & "FOLLOW THE PROPHET"!!!🌸❇️🌸❇️🌸❇️🌸❇️🌸❇️🌸❇️🌸❇️🌸❇️🌸
Love your guest! Your guests teach with so much insight. I love this series. Hank, you and John are the Best!! I am so thankful for the Come Follow Me Program.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and testimony of the Book of Mormon. Also real life experiences. THANK YOU also for the Outstanding Guests you have each week. MAY GOD BLESS YOU AND all the hands that make this available to the world..!!!
My daughter always liked to tell me “I love you.” One day, after she had been particularly uncooperative and then said “I love you,” I began to say “Why do you tell me you love me, but” and then I stopped, realizing that I was quoting scripture, the Savior’s words, sadly often to me.
My heart is soooo full! "Out of the mouths of babes, indeed!" Such profound words of wisdom! Thank you seems so little to say, but from deep within my heart, I thank you and your guest for sharing insights and truths to help give me strength for each tomorrow as I live this very day! I dearly love you guys! And I can say that because I'm 82 years of age!❤❤❤
What a wonderful exposition on these terrific chapters. Dr. Sharp touched on 10 or 15 doctrinal subjects that need further research. It was Abinadi that gave the answer to a current controversy that of Jesus having children before the crucifixion. It was Dan Brown’s book, “The DaVinci Code” that postulated that the Savior had a daughter with Mary Magdeline. Abinadi states in Mosiah 15:10, regarding “who shall declare his generation….?” Abinadi solves this question by stating he will not see his generation until after the offering had been made. After he shall see his seed, those that keep the commandments, its us that are part of the covenant. Thanks again for the series and your amazing crew and sponsors.
I really wanted to watch a re-run of The Blacklist. But I got so caught up in your episode that I couldn’t stop watching. Thanks for all the great life lessons.
I testify it is true, (31 minutes. etc.) we can feel the arms of our Savior encircling us in safety and power, love and grace, if we sincerely follow Jesus Christ and his gospel (faith in Christ, repentance, baptism, receive the Holy Ghost, endure to the end) and if we pray for this blessing and seek to be like Him. And we can forgive anything and find peace and joy, and find a way to receive Him fully. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
I listened to this episode again because I wanted to commit to memory the story of Neli Sasulu, perhaps to share at our Stake RS Conference on September 28. However, something else struck me as I listened to part 2 of the episode. President Sharp says perhaps Abinadi was also giving the sermon on the Savior and His resurrection (in part) to prepare himself for what was to come-his own martyrdom. This has happened to me several times as I’ve taught lessons or shared my testimony. It’s such a powerful teaching. Thank you.
YOUR TEXT: 00:40:36 Ryan, I think you're right on here. With people, I've tried to explain these verses to, it's hard for them when I say, "Take your definition of the Father as God the Father, take that out of the equation." That's hard. Like, "Wait. What?" Yeah, take that out of the equation. That's not what he's talking about. It really makes it much more simple to understand. MY COMMENT: Abinadi was talking about who is the very [real] Eternal Father in Mosiah 15:4 which he repeated in Mosiah 16:15- Teach them that … Christ the Lord.. is the very Eternal Father…
Ok, so personal revelation is really important. Listening to a prophet is important, but what is most important is personal revelation. Don't follow blindly the prophet, the prophets and apostles said condemning those who say he is the prophet follow, we are just men follow God and personal revelation, I am a seer and I had seen things that were later in acted in the church, I saw it a year or years ahead. I prayed for answers and recognized actions the church needed to do for the church, and most were addressed. Men are ignored, but at least we address the more lacking faith and power grabbing women in our church. But we need to address men too. We got the men combined something God let me know needed to be done, but more is required
I do appreciate your wisdom and your inspiring perspective. However, if I may ask, is it possible to Repent("change of mind" is the literal meaning in greek) without execution of sin or prior to committing the sin through action🙏 please share your perspective🙏
I have to repost this because you deleted it. YOUR TEXT: 00:39:25” … If we make the assumption that this is talking about Heavenly Father and Jesus, then you can absolutely see some confusion and crossover. But if I'm making the assumption that Abinadi is talking about Jesus on both counts, but he's talking about the two parts of Jesus, the divine side and the mortal side… MY COMMENT: You contradict Chapter 20: Mosiah 9-17 in the Institute Book of Mormon Student Manual which says: “…Mosiah 13:34. “God Himself Should Come Down” The term God generally refers to our Heavenly Father, and it is Him whom we ultimately worship. It is also true that Jesus Christ is God…”
Irrespective of when Abinadi spoke, it seems the important thing is when the records that have his speech recorded would have reached Zarahemla. Alma1 wrote the words down, and he didn’t reach Zarahemla until Mosiah2 was king. Am I wrong?
Interesting that Abinadi said that all the prophets testify of this dying resurrecting God, yet, but for Isaiah and some cloaked references in Psalms, there are no statements in the OT that is as clear as we find throughout the BofM. Perhaps the plates of brass contained prophets' statements that were so clear. This is the purpose of the BofM. It was the lack of such clear statements in their post exilic scriptures that Peter and the rest of the disciples didn't get it. Why they cowered in fear all of Easter Sunday while the resurrected Christ appeared to the ladies who were more humble.
Wouldn’t Abinadi have his words from God? I think you are trying to show how the Prophet Abinadi wo d have been repeated through the years, but aren’t the words coming from God? Didn’t the message come from God? Maybe it’s not important if the credit goes to the prophet it just feels uncomfortable to me. I enjoyed Part 1 stories about the elder and thank you for showing the love to the Prophet Abinadi.
YOUR TEXT: 00:41:00 … let's look at the verses again. Because He, Jesus, dwelleth in the flesh, He shall be called the Son of God, having subjected the flesh, His mortal side, to the will of the Father, His divine side, being the Father and the son. This is really, I think, what clarifies it, because he was conceived by the power of God. Jesus was conceived by the power of God. In that sense, he's got this divinity within him, and the son because of the flesh, this mortal side, thus becoming the father and the son. MY COMMENT: Our LORD God Jesus Christ plainly explain to Nephi the reason that he is called the Father and the Son in 3 Nephi 1:14 Behold, I come unto my own… to do the will, both of the Father and of the Son-of the Father because of me, and of the Son because of my flesh... Who is the Father? He said, “Me”. Why He is called the Son? He said, “because of His flesh”. He did not say because of what your so-called “Father”. Will you make Jesus a liar, then? The brother of Jared who had a perfect knowledge of Jesus Christ said in “Ether 3: 11-12 …the Lord said unto him: Believest thou the words which I shall speak?.. And he answered: Yea, Lord, I know that thou speakest the truth, for thou art a God of truth, and canst not lie.” Jesus Christ responded to him in Ether 3: 14 I am Jesus Christ. I am the Father and the Son. Further, Jesus Christ revealed to Moroni, who abridged the Book of Ether, in Ether 4:21 …he that will not believe me will not believe the Father who sent me. For behold, I am the Father, I am the light, and the life, and the truth of the world. And finally, as a resurrected being, Jesus Christ revealed to the people of Nephi in 3 Nephi 11 verses: 10 Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world. 11 … I am the light and the life of the world… 14 … I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth… 16 … they did cry out with one accord, saying: 17 Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God! And they did fall down at the feet of Jesus, and did worship him. 27 … verily I say unto you… I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and THE FATHER AND I ARE ONE. I think you are not yet convinced that Jesus Christ is the only Eternal God and the Eternal Father: Alma 11 26 And Zeezrom said unto him: Thou sayest there is a true and living God? 27 And Amulek said: Yea, there is a true and living God. 28 Now Zeezrom said: Is there more than one God? 29 And he answered, No. 1 Nephi 13 41 ...the records of thy seed [Book of Mormon], as well as in the records of the twelve apostles of the Lamb [Bible]... both shall be established in one; for there is one God and one Shepherd over all the earth. Title Page of the Book of Mormon ...Written to the Lamanites, who are a remnant of the house of Israel; and also to Jew and Gentile... to the convincing of the Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, the Eternal God. Alma 11 44 ...restoration shall come to all... before the bar of Christ the Son, and God the Father, and the Holy Spirit, which is one Eternal God. Moroni 7 7 ...unto the Father, and unto the Son, and unto the Holy Ghost, which are one God... 2 Nephi 31 21 ... this is the doctrine of Christ, and the only and true doctrine of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, which is one God, without end... Testimonies of Three Witnesses ...honor be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost, which is one God Brigham Young said: Doctrine and Covenants 136 2 Let all the people of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints... keep all the commandments and statutes of the Lord our God. 21 ...even the God of your fathers, the God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob. Joseph Smith Translation Old Testament Exodus 6 3 And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of Lord God Almighty; the Lord Jehovah... Joseph Smith Translation New Testament John 8 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I Jehovah. King James Version New Testament John 8 58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was I, Am. Doctrine of Covenants 38 11 Thus saith the Lord your God, even Jesus Christ, the Great I Am... The First of The Ten Commandments: Mosiah 12 33 But now Abinadi said unto them: I know if ye keep the commandments of God ye shall be saved; yea, if ye keep the commandments which the Lord delivered unto Moses in the mount of Sinai, saying: 34 I am the Lord thy God... 35 Thou shalt have no other God before me. 37 Now Abinadi said unto them, Have ye done all this? I say unto you, Nay, ye have not. And have ye taught this people that they should do all these things? I say unto you, Nay, ye have not.
@@kaparowitz7393 I am just stating what the Book of Mormon teaches. The first vision is not taught in the Book of Mormon. Thus, I cannot explain it using the Book of Mormon.

I think you're doing this right because (don't take this the wrong way) halfway through part 1 I wanted to stop listening to the podcast and go listen to President Nelson's last general conference talk. I finished the episode (wonderful as always) and NOW I'm going to go listen to the prophet 😊.
I love the stories bringing to life the gospel concepts, the story about one person making a difference in episode 1 and then the story about the son who continued to hit his brother. I am in my 60's now and, although I continue to try, I stumble on similar problems. I am grateful for a patient Savior who does not turn His back on me.
This was an amazing lesson. Thanks so much!
Each week I can only sigh and express gratitude for inspiration and being uplifted and taught. Another favorite podcast, and another favorite guest teacher. Thank you for the good work that you are doing.

That was SO good! Love all the stories from Dr. Sharp!!
Oh my! How cool to think that King Benjamin’s angel might have been Abinadi! I won’t base my testimony on it, but the possibility makes my heart sing.
So very grateful for your wonderful and uplifting podcast

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question, but who kept this record of Abinadi? Did Alma write it in retrospect?
Wow! ❤ ❤ ❤
Would that we could have Abinidi back to call out the wicked.

And he answered: Yea, Lord, I know that thou speakest the truth, for thou art a God of truth, and canst not lie.”
Jesus Christ responded to him in Ether 3: 14 I am Jesus Christ. I am the Father and the Son.
Further, Jesus Christ revealed to Moroni, who abridged the Book of Ether, in Ether 4:21 …he that will not believe me will not believe the Father who sent me. For behold, I am the Father, I am the light, and the life, and the truth of the world.
And finally, as a resurrected being, Jesus Christ revealed to the people of Nephi in 3 Nephi 11 verses:
10 Behold, I am Jesus Christ, whom the prophets testified shall come into the world.
11 … I am the light and the life of the world…
14 … I am the God of Israel, and the God of the whole earth…
16 … they did cry out with one accord, saying:
17 Hosanna! Blessed be the name of the Most High God! And they did fall down at the feet of Jesus, and did worship him.
27 … verily I say unto you… I am in the Father, and the Father in me, and THE FATHER AND I ARE ONE.
I think you are not yet convinced that Jesus Christ is the only Eternal God and the Eternal Father:
Alma 11
26 And Zeezrom said unto him: Thou sayest there is a true and living God?
27 And Amulek said: Yea, there is a true and living God.
28 Now Zeezrom said: Is there more than one God?
29 And he answered, No.

How do you explain the first vision? “I saw TWO personages….”
@@kaparowitz7393 I am just stating what the Book of Mormon teaches. The first vision is not taught in the Book of Mormon. Thus, I cannot explain it using the Book of Mormon.
