@@nkodo22 It definitely got better performance variants. The second gen kinda got done dirty by JLR by stripping away the V8s or making the XF-S so heavy. The XF-RS is such a sweet Jag.
How is the sport mode on it? Increase the speed of the car quick enough? Just got the a 2015 59k miles 2.2 white with black alloys luxury one. Looks like a beast, should be coming here next week
Not so much the speed per say, but from what I can tell the Sport Mode (and, I imagine putting it in both Sport and Dynamic mode) should greatly increase the throttle response, and should rev out higher (when in automatic) in all the gears especially the lower gears where it you can hold the gas and rev it to around 6k RPM (at least on the 3.0L Gas/petrol version) to get the most power out of those lower gears. I can't speak from experience for the 2.2L (which I don't think came to the US even), or for the first generation XF (2008 to 2015) but I imagine it should be roughly a similar experience. Congrats on the Jag buy! Really hope you enjoy it!

Also for the subject, no Jaguar enjoyer wants an electric Jag, not once has anyone said "I wish this was electric". Tata done lost their minds. Brand will be gone within 10 years. I've enjoyed my x260 diesel for sure.
For super high end luxury I can kind of understand the EV argument as the big V12s and W12s were designed to be silent, smooth, comfort machines, and EV arguably does those very things. Jaguar in that direction, though, eeeh yah not sure about that. Historically they were kind of like a cheaper alternative to Bentley and Aston, but that was pretty far back. Since then their engines, regardless of their reliability, kind of became their charm, the various V8s and V6s and their SC variants. To compete with Bentley, I don't know if the Jaguar name has that prestige, and EV kind of defeats their purpose. They were always kind of meant to be less refined and more rowdy than the other British luxury brands, a car with some attitude that had some class. 10 years is probably a good bet before they go under or get sold off again. Lol about the hat and gloves. No comment, really.

The first gen (x250) is better. Especially the XFR and XF-RS.
