We were delighted to have hosted a free online seminar for teachers in the UK, organized in collaboration with the UK Parliament Education and Engagement Service.
In this engaging event, we explored the practical workings of theories of representation and their impact on Members of Parliament. We delved into the concepts of trusteeship/Burkean, mandate, and descriptive models, and how they shape the role of MPs.
Joining us for this enlightening discussion were the esteemed speakers, the Rt Hon Valerie Vaz, MP for Walsall South, former Shadow Leader of the House of Commons, and Professor Oliver Heath from Royal Holloway University of London.
