I’m a big fan of it for recovery and easy days and long runs up to 13 miles. It’s got a wide foot print making it stable and it’s firm but also responsive with the front plate with the carbon rods. It’s best for midfoot strikers as the heel doesn’t have much. I’m a big fan as it’s just so stable and comfortable over the miles. Perfect work horse shoe. Also if you want the successor to the Boston 9 get the Adios 6 which I also love for fast days. Thanks for the review!
I have the shoe with over 100 miles on them. I actually didn't like them at first but have grown to really appreciate it's place in my rotation. The shoe does become a tad more cushioned over time but it's plenty for me. Additionally, it's a more stable ride than most other shoes thus providing a nice respite from other overly cushioned shoes that are less stable and can result in injury. My only advice to Adidas would be to make it a tad softer but keep the rods (provides for good propulsion).
Spot on review! I really tried to like the Boston 10 as I really liked the Boston 7 and 8. It just felt way too firm and stiff. I felt like my foot was working way too hard to flex the shoe and that was giving me some plantar fascia pain. The adios 6 though is a great, flexible, trainer and I think that's more of a successor to the Boston line than the Boston 10.
Great stuff man! I have put 200 miles in to the shoe and the wear and tear I noticed was actually on the inside of the heel. The friction completely worn down the heel padding. I found the perfect use for it now, though. Wearing it with jeans :) PS The Adios 6 is more of an old Boston than the Boston 10 is.
It was an amazing experience! My legs were definitely destroyed from the downhill, but I got a new PR of 2:43! I’m debating if I want to make a race recap video about it or not.
thank you for the review. i totally agree with your conclusions. unfortunately like you said the shoes doesn't deliver. it is not clear what should be used for, too heavy for fast run and not enough responsive. not comfortable enough for slow or recovery. As strange as it can get, the adios pro 2 that is supposed to be for racing day, it is much softer and comfortable than this one. what do you think of the new takumi sen 8 with lightstrike pro midsole seen in some races already? do you know when it will be released?
Right? It’s such a strange shoe that doesn’t really seem to belong. I’m very curious to try the Takumi Sen 8! I’ve heard rumors about it releasing December, but there have been supply chain issues for all the running brands, so it may get delayed. Hopefully end of this year or early next year though!

I’m glad they grew on you!
Yes, that’s a good point, they are nice and stable! I’d love if they made them softer too.
Good honest review.

I’ve heard good things about the Adios 6, and that it is a good replacement for the Boston like you said!

Same with both heels on my pair of 10s. Missing you old Bostons. 😢
No experience with Adidas until today with the Adizero SL20.2 and soon the RC3. Really enjoed a 6 miler in my SL20.2 this morning.
My new go-to shoe! Reminds me of the old Bostons.
Great reviews as always. How was your Boston marathon?

Thank you for specifying that it’s not soft and comfy under the legs. I canceled my order now.
