Good list. Missed out on the Simple Minds 5x5 live record set last year. The cd is out there, but prohibitive prices. Wish I had also seen the concert back in early 2000's. Those early albums are my favorites. Cheers.
Great run through Bret. I also did a video, and I guess it demonstrates it’s a good list this year, as we didn’t cross on too many. You picked up on some releases that I didn’t focus on but you have now piqued my interest. Great job! Mike🎸
Thanks Mike! We did catch your video over here and most likely watched on the TV and forgot to comment the next day. :) There's often an Adrian Borland solo album released around RSD. Haven't come across any news that I can recall. Have you picked up any of those in the past?
@@BretHelmsLifeOnThisPlanetBlog Hi Bret, yes, I always pick up any Adrian Borland releases including The Sound and the other projects he has been associated with. The Dutch label ‘Sounds like Haarlem likes vinyl’ have been releasing some old and newly found material but nothing this year as far as I can tell. Mike🎸
Glad you enjoyed. Really excited for the Virgin Prunes EP collection. Great to see that they've been getting some attention with these anniversary reissues. Long overdue!
I easily knocked about 10 from my initial list of 18 once I saw prices. Cranberries, McCulloch are near the top of my list. Also check out Noctorum (Marty Willson-Piper) Offer The Light. Sparks Lane was released in 2021 and can be had for $5 these days, so I'll probably hold out on that one.
All I would like to know is are all the prices standard on all the records I mean can each store put what ever price they want on RSD Any help be great
I gave a look through the list. Not all that impressed except for Little Earthquakes B Sides vinyl for Tori Amos and Porcupine Tree E.P. with some stellar b sides first time on vinyl. Still no holy grail for me: A vinyl reissue of both The God Machines album on vinyl with great artwork for the first: "Scenes From A Second Story" or "Last Laugh In A Place Of Dying" going for easily $300 to $500 in Good to Very Good Condition and as high as $1,000 mint on Discogs.
I’d love to have the cure show on vinyl but to be honest I’m not a big fan of picture discs. To me a lot of the times they don’t sound that great. I did buy wild mood swings back in 2020 and it’s just okay sounding at best. Also the price tags are getting a bit out of hands with all these RSD drops. 45 dollars in USA will be 60+ dollars here in Canada. I think the plan will be to just go check out a few stores and possibly impulse buy something. Still it will be a day to gather up and talk music with like minded friends 🤘.
Hello! Yeah, the prices are going to be a big deterrent this year. I have a feeling that there will be a lot of leftovers, and unfortunately will impact the very stores that RSD is 'helping.' In regards to Show, obviously a great show. Got it on CD when it came out. I reckon Paris will be coming for the Black Friday RSD this year. Would've been nice to have a regular edition besides the picture disc. Thanks for watching as always!
Only found 5 things worth the price i'll have to pay on Discogs (there is no record store within 400kms including a body of water [Cook Strait] one way and 800kms another way) - Yay New Zealand looks good but is fu*k all good for anything else
@@BretHelmsLifeOnThisPlanetBlog Number one - WILCO "Crosseyed Strangers" - I just brought A "Yankee" Boxset so have to check if these tracks are included. Number Two - SUEDE "Suede Demos [30th Anniversary]" to go with the other 92 suede albums and singles I have. Number Three - THE SISTERS OF MERCY "The Reptile House" Not sure about this as there are still a lot of original copies around. Number Four - GARBAGE "Witness To Your Love" EP - In truth this is what I hate about RSD these 4-track throw aways that cost more than full albums. Number Five - TORI AMOS "Little Earthquakes - The B-Sides" - there is a long story about the first time I heard the Original Album Involving the day after A One Night Stand And the girl taking me to her friends house to hear it - She went on to have sex with all my friends and I've brought all of Toris albums since even the crap ones [94] items in my collection.
Yikes. And I wouldn't mind having that set, but not for $100. I'll be curious to see how much RSD stock is leftover this year, and if it's more than in the past.
I am after the Greatful Deads box set, Charlie Parker, Pear Jam, Art Blakie. Great video my friend
Right on! Thank you for watching. Have a fun RSD!
My list will be just the Beach House ep, and I'll try to get a copy of the Pixies 10" as well. Thanks for going through the list, great video.
Had a feeling you'd be after the Beach House EP after seeing your Valentine's Day video. :) Thanks for watching!
Thanks for your video.
Nico and Ian Mc Culloch seems my choice this year, sweden musicfan
Solid choices, Hasse. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for watching, Marco. I definitely favor the early SM albums as well, especially 1980-1982 (Empires / Sons / Sister).

Great that you've been grabbing those Sounds like Haarlem releases. I see them come up every time, but the cost + shipping always has me taking pause.
Thanks for this list! Virgin Prunes and Beach House sound the most tempting for me, oh and Urban Urbane of course.

David J's Urban Urbane ♥️from 92 is on vinyl for the first time....YESSSSS!!!!😉

The prices are getting insane..😳
Definitely cool to see it as part of RSD, but yeah the prices....
My RSD UK list choices:
Duran Duran: Carnival Rio! - 3000 presses - £40.99
Tears For Fears: Saturnine Martial & Lunatic - 2000 presses - £33.99

Hey Brad, thanks for commenting. I overlooked the Noctorum release - is it part of the RSD list?

That's rough, Matt! I couldn't imagine not having a record store nearby. Curious what the 5 you selected are. Thanks for watching!
