Doc was my second cousin from my mother side. He used to come into our restaurant with Merle. Once when they were recording "pickin' the blues album over in Todd NC, all of the band members stopped in at the restaurant (near closing time) all ate then they went out to their cars got their instruments and came back in and played a jam for us. Unforgettable!
Doc would be proud of you. Billy is a natural talent. He respects legends from the past. ❤

Billy Strings has intently made it relevant and guess what, IT'S WORKING!! No other artist has been successful doing this in the history of Bluegrass music for many decades 🎶🎵.

The knowledge you carry about the history of this music is as important as your playing is wonderful to hear. Billy Strings, you will always matter. You are like Tommy Emmanuel and Les Paul, in that you belong to the world now, and my young brother, it has never needed to remember where it came from more than it does today. I only found you last week, but have heard many hours of performances, of ALL music genre. I am confident you can play any style you wish to, and will. Good on you!
He is so good, and has a passion. I love the video with he and his dad Terry Barber, you can see the love and respect between them, not to mention PURE talent.
