    The fact that he can readily use either hand means this kid is a hard worker. That takes a lot of gym time to be that confident with both hands. Coach K is smart man for picking him up.

    Everyone saying he's not an athlete, which first of all isn't true and second of all fundamentals and skill go further and have a longer shelf life than athleticism

    • @chuboasshippo2181
      @chuboasshippo2181 9 лет назад +1

      How is it not true? Did you even watch the video? Either he's moving in slow motion the whole damn time to deceive us for some unknown reason or maybe hes actually slow and can't jump. Also impossible to ignore is the fact that a majority of his competition appear to be tiny unathletic white kids. I'd like to see him play against people who are actually his height and have the athleticism and strength to stay in front of him instead of getting blown by every time by the slowest crossover I've ever seen. My guess is it wouldn't go too well. And athleticism doesn't matter? Why don't you tell that to the numerous white college greats who havent even been able to stay in the league? Athleticism isn't the only thing that makes you great but it definitely matters a lot

      Completely agree just because he doesn't dunk it 90 percent of the time doesn't mean anything he is good all around and people won't admit it

      Chris Xu hold up bro. Those tiny un athletic kids are not bad at all. He's over powering. My team st. X high school we played them and he put up 38 on a kid whose going to osu.

    I can tell by the way most of you talk you have no idea about what basketball is about. It's not football and it's about having finesse over power. His ability to make lay ups while being contested is amazing. He has an understanding of where to be at all times. I am not saying he will be a superstar but lets see what happens at duke and then have this talk again.

    • @lamariustangible6179

      Brando Williams I see him by his senior cause I believe is will be a 4 year player. Being on the All-Acc team once or twice by than. I see him being a Kyle Kover or a JJ Redick type nba player. Not a superstar or anything by can be a difference maker for a good NBA team down the road with his shooting.

    • @basketballgod2791
      @basketballgod2791 9 лет назад +1

      Michael Snider I see him being above kyle korver if he can continue to get ot the basket for easy layups through college. His slashing skills are pretty sweet. Kyle Korver is not a slasher at all and neither is jj.

    I like the look of this kid. Doesn't appear that he's playing against great competition, but 40 ppg is nothing to scoff at. Duke would really be sitting pretty if Tyus hadn't gone pro, but I can still see them having a decent squad and then being right back in the mix the following season. Coach K's recent success, coupled with the added exposure he's getting from Team USA basketball, has got him second to only Calipari on the recruiting trail.

    Very fundamentally sound player, he has the capability to become a great player in college basketball. He's not a 1 and done kind of player by no means but if get a quicker release, quicker pull up and better strength he can definitely become a contributor to an NBA team.

    You can't take away tht the kid Hausa nice stroke from anywhere on the floor. He needs to get way quicker tho for college. The level of competition in any of those clips is nowhere near college level. This is why I hate basketball in certain states kids like this get showed crazy love don't get me wrong he has talent, but if you come to jersey you'll see a billion of him that are way quicker and more athletic with the same type of shot. I can't see him busting those slow crossovers and spin moves on D1 caliber athletes that are also 6,5 much quicker, tougher, and physical on the court. But we can only wait and see this I will definitely look out for I really wanna see him on the court with a much better talented team overall.

    • @chuboasshippo2181
      @chuboasshippo2181 9 лет назад

      That is an insult to klay Thompson to compare this kid to him. Klay Thompson is at least still pretty damn athletic and strong and quick enough to be an elite defender. This Luke kennard kid doesn't look like he has an ounce of athleticism in him

    • @logannewton2312

      I'm just commenting on what I've been able to see from this video and it doesn't look good. Maybe I'm wrong but the track record for players like him isn't great. Until proven otherwise, I stand by what I said.

    • @logannewton2312
      @logannewton2312 9 лет назад

      Chris Xu I've seen him play live multiple times against the best talent in the world. He puts up huge numbers. Trust me athleticism isn't a problem for him. He has already played for Team USA and has broken records for them. He will do well in college. Unlike a lot of other white players he can actually drive the lane. We will see how he does I guess. If you knew anything about Klay Thompson then you would know he went into the league with barely any defensive skill. He developed it during his transition into the NBA. Who is to say he can't develop more and become a starter in the NBA?

    • @chuboasshippo2181
      @chuboasshippo2181 9 лет назад

      Klay is much much more athletic than this kid will ever be and is taller and lankier. Plus klays shot release is lightning quick and textbook form. This kid's shot, while accurate, is not a quick release at all and would be blocked easily by NBA caliber athletes

      sooo u have to be athletic to be the best?

    • @chuboasshippo2181
      @chuboasshippo2181 9 лет назад

      No I'm not saying I'm any better than this guy. But my main takeaways from this video are that a lot of his competition seem to come against a lot of short unathletic white kids and that any dunk this guy had was wide open. He can obviously shoot but with all the athleticism he seems to be lacking, could he really be able to create a shot against a wing defender who's actually athletic? I may be wrong about his college future cuz duke seems to make these sorts of guys better than they are, which is the genius of coach k, bit I definitely don't see him doing anything in the NBA.

    • @makochin
      @makochin 9 лет назад

      Chris Xu My takeaway from the video is that he has a fluid handle for a 6-5 off guard and a nice passing game. I think skill wise it's obvious that he's above your average high school prospect. He's not athletic by any stretch but he's not Kyle Korver or Adam Morrison type of an athlete. He's athletic enough where he can use his skill to compensate for his lack of physical tools. I think with some work in college I can see him making it to the NBA. Probably not a lottery pick but somewhere in the first round for sure.

      Hes still a young man that's up and coming, how can you have so much hate for a high schooler already ?? You must be a young kid or a grown ass loser.

    High school mixtapes are completely useless, unless you are Lebron. Look at this tape. Just look at his opposition and how bad the defense is in every one of those highlights.. 99% of the people he is scoring on will not play Division One basketball, or even play at all for that matter, after their high school career, except at a YMCA.

      +Dave Gleason Hey, he sucks huh Dave? He just scored 15 against UNC. lol. Averages over 12 pts/game, has the best free throw % in the nation, and is one of the best 6man in the country....Sure, he's not playing YMCA kids but still!
