Hello everyone! I am Aliblame(阿狸), an arranger, composer, and anime pianist who is currently studying pop music & electronic music in China. This is my first upload on RUclips. It is my pleasure to join this anime piano community. From then on, I will start to upload more music videos on this channel. I not only make piano covers but also make compositions and arrangements that contain a variety of musical instruments.
As one of Animenz's friends, I practiced one of his hardest arrangements and recorded it successfully. I first got in touch with this arrangement while I was in junior high school. At that time, I was totally amazed by it. It totally revolutionized my understanding of anime piano. Then, I made up my mind to practice this arrangement.
In the beginning, I was pretty confident with my piano technique because I started to play the piano when I was very young. However, after reading the music sheet of this arrangement, the difficulty of this song was totally out of my expectation. After realizing this fact, I decided to work hard to improve my skills.
After practicing this arrangement for a few years intermittently, I can finally play it fluently. And now, I have developed my own understanding of how to play with good power control and abundant emotions. Although there are still some inadequacies, I am generally satisfied with this video. I hope I can make contributions to this community by providing videos with good quality.

animenz can play unravel in concert after many songs
I've seen a lot of people play Animenz's Tokyo Ghoul OP, but none have yet to be played to the skill/precision of Animenz's original upload. If you pay attention, you can notice not just a performance of notes and rhythms but deliberate, specific phrasing/dynamics that makes Animenz's performance a higher level from a musicianship standpoint. However, if any that I have seen come close, this is definitely the one.

This 4 jumps are pure muscle memory you need to lern them so long that xou could do them without even looking. And the rytjm is down bad as well

only a few people on youtube can actually recreate this piece but when I saw this I was shocked, absolutely amazing performance
Absolutely fantastic performance, I have seen plenty of pianists playing Animenz's unravel, but this is the best performance I have witnessed so far. Nice power control, clean runnings, every aspect of this performance seems to be perfect for me. Looking forward to your future uploads bro!
Dude for the section at 1:48, you really brought out the melody line in the right hand. A lot of people fail to do that so good job. Also for the section following, the left hand runs were the cleanest I've ever seen lol. Amazing job.

Yeah, I actually prefer to listen to this performance because I like the piano sound more than the one that animenz used, and also after listening to animenz performance many times, I eventually noticed the small mistakes, but this one doesn't have noticeable mistakes.

The difference with this version and Animenz ver. is that Animenz controlled the melody to keep it from sounding crowded. Hitting the notes in the right tempo and playing with dynamics (keeping the melody on top by playing the fleshing out notes lighter) are two different things.

Edit: I see people mentioning chopiano but his cover has the same problem.
P.s. I came from a comment on a live performance video by Animenz saying this was better than the original.😔
Yeah there's a lot of reverb with this performance so the dry parts suffer but I think most of the other parts sound good with it.

I tried learning this with 6 years experience playing piano and failed so props to anyone who can play it. It takes some serious dedication to learn something this difficult without giving up like i did.
I basically have the same amount of experience and I thought i could pull it off in like 2 or 3 months at the most then i realized I wasn't ready. So im just gonna practice other peices until im ready in 100 years.

I still can't comprehend how someone can practise the same arragement for years. I have a certain piece that i learned a few months ago, but I haven't improved since the 1-month-point after i started learning it. I still play the piece (at least once everyday) but I always play half-spacing off.. I can't seem to focus on the piece anymore..
Yeah there's a piece that I've been learning off and on for like 3 years and still can't get a performance that's near flawless, but I'm still gonna try because it'll be a very rewarding feeling.
Wow, that seems like it would be nerve-wracking to play, like a pianist counterpart to what Paganini feels like for me as a violinist.

Jesus bro you're insane. I've been grinding this song for a while as well and can tell how much hard work you've put into mastering this piece. Your playing is so clean, especially at 2:16 and 2:38 and your technicality, musicality and overall tone is superior to anyone else's playing by far. I respect the grind my g. I became your 387th subscriber after watching your great rendition and reading in description about your dedication to become proficient in playing this. I learned about your channel from chat in TheIshter's stream where he was reacting to Unravel performances, starting with Animenz's one (yours was not commented by him). From that chat I also learned about how Animenz (M. G.) recently had to part (due to their mismanagement and lack of proper financial direction) with agency M. G. made contract in 2018, that owns rights to Animenz IP, so he no longer personally controls Animenz YT account among other stuff (there is a post on r/piano where his last YT community message has been preserved, despite its removal on YT). He also lost his Steinway in the agency in the process. So devastating and sad.
