Bought a home back in 1990. Spent my vacations there until I retired in 2003. I remember how much of a Cattle Ranching; Cow Town and Citrus farms were everywhere. Today with the massive growth of infrastructure projects, with many housing developments and many of the rancher moving to Texas. With citrus farms now going to South American countries. Kissimmee has now become one of the fastest and developed places in the state of Florida. The population is growing so much that traffic has now become a big issue. The once Ranching farms and Citrus farms have now become Hugh housing developments. I still love my life there and never want to return back to New York City. Great scenery and ride.
Just moved from Kissimmee/Orlando area in August to Vegas. I love Vegas… but boy do I miss Kissimmee, especially at night cruising 🥵😎. This fed my nostalgia thank you!
Fun fact: Kissimmee is currently the 36th largest city in Florida with a population of 79K people. It is decently sized for an inland city considering most of of Florida’s population lives on the coast where retirees and snowbirds have access to the beaches and resorts.
Looks nice there. I never been in Kissimmee just stopped there when traveling by Amtrak but I want to have it as a destination point to explore the city and surroundings. 👍
I purchase in Bellalago in Kissimmee back in 2005. Now my husband wants to move to Port Saint Lucie. The worst in Kissimmee is traffic and no clothing stores near me. But I heard recently a mall is going up in Poinciana. Kissimmee has develop alot within the time I purchase.
Lived in kissimme 1992-2000 great time! Rent for 1 bedroom apartment 390$ a month… got paid $6.00 hour working 40 hours a week, no overtime… I moved away then came back a few years later and WOW! What happened? It was nasty and dirty and that same apartment’s rent ballooned to 1500$ a month… it was just a sad and depressing place… moved away again and never went back…. So sad

It's amazing how much things have changed over the years. Your story of Kissimmee's transformation is fascinating!

This is my second favorite city in Florida after my hometown of Fort Lauderdale
Is it a safe neighborhood and is it true that you HAVE to know SPANISH to live around here I’m moving there soon and I’m sooooo anxious
@@Jennymast1379 Knowing spanish would definitely help but it's not a requirement by any means!

It's always tough to see a place change so drastically. Those memories from the '90s must be so special! Thanks for sharing your experience.

Kissimmee is ok but Hallandale beach Florida is better, beautiful beaches and restaurants and businesses and a growing communities.
