I got a SLK230 -00 (first facelift model) last summer and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. It makes me glad to see some people in my age review this type of car since it’s mostly older people who owns a SLK. Keep it up, great content really! Greetings from Sweden!
+Macks Cars the only problem you will encounter with this car that you look richer than you are :) I see no reason for not having one since the experience is so overwhelming for the price you are paying! Can’t wait until summer so I can take it for a cruising drive down town 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Yes they are so fun! I brought a 2002 SLK 230 about 2 years ago one of the best decisions I've made. I brought mine because it was in a racing game called NFS High Stakes which I got in 1999 when I was seven, after that I had to buy an SLK 230 someday which I did! :)
Deja Vú.... I also played that game (on the Playstation 1). I also felt like I wanted the SLK for that reason. Recently I also bought the "PC Bigbox" with the big boxart that shows a SLK car in silver! Your story is so close to mine, AMAZING :D
nice review guys good luck on your channel i have 2002 slk 32 amg get one one of those for $8,000 or $10,000 for a mint one it kills !!! 349 hp 4.6 to 4.8 to 60 best value anywhere
Hey good review guys have owned one for the past two years, really loved it. It has been a very reliable car never really had any major issues. I'm pretty sure the pre-facelift cars 1996-2000 had a 192hp and the facelift mid 2000-2004 had 197hp. Or if you get the supercharger pulley upgrade like me you could get around 230hp :D
RacR268 thank you very much! I guess some articles vary on their facts whoops! Thought I saw 185 but you never can trust everything. Filming more reviews tomorrow!
I am about 5'7, and Zack is around 5'9. It's definitely a tight car, but not unreasonably so with the seat farther back while in the passenger seat. We're both on the short side though so I imagine anyone 6' and up would be a little harder to fit in nicely.
Car Chronicles It has much better ride height than many other sports cars. Higher than a Miata or Spitfire. I daily drive mine-no troubles. It’s also better on dirt roads than most other sports cars.
@@carchronicles5739 Well at least the european had 193hp on 2.3l engine. The 2.0l only had 136. I crosschecked all available reference. In Europe they didn't have a 185hp version
I own this car just wanted to know if the exhaust near the passenger front side sound like a lawn mower. I checked for leaks but didn’t find any. But it sounds like shit

RacR268 thanks for the feedback! I’m not quite sure about the horsepower numbers that you said, but I very well could be wrong.
That's ok I read somewhere that they make from 190hp-200hp stock. Other than that great review look forward to see more! :)

Its even better when you turn the traction control off the power feels more instant :D
2:15 is it possible that you have noticed a quark that doug dimuro would have missed? this is history in the making... I must watch till the end.
Tinder inc haha I guess so! It was a very interesting “feature” for sure.
super cool seeing this video with some youngins, yall should make an update!
Did they make a manual version, wish they did.
Looks great! Love the content!
What about the radio? Does it work?
first car review - SLK R 170 - the right choice
Thanks , great video . How tall are you ?? How much is the legroom in this car ??

Great content
Is the type of car that one could drive every day to work an back? Or just a weekend car?
Mark Gilbert it’s very low to the ground, and the ride is fairly stiff but I’d say you could drive it everyday if you wanted to
@@carchronicles5739
It isn't very low to the ground what are you talking about lol
SpitfireJJ compared to most cars it is quite low

Mine's my daily driver and I love it. I don't really want to upgrade as newer cars just have so much shit to go wrong.
Hey guys! Really enjoy your videos! What camera do you use?
I love for you to do a review on my 06 accord with 300,000 miles. Haha.
Gents it’s 193hp
TubeAirways if you look it up for a 2000 model year it’s 185

Mine has 193 bhp, needs a sports exhaust like mine has.

Lawrence L yeah it’s not the best sounding car for sure!
The engine does sound a little tractor like with the top down.
I like the noise it makes, personally. it sounds tourqey.
I like.
He looks like the guy from baby driver
A vent air freshener in a convertible. Thats a bit redundant
It’s a 5 speed manual
Hey guys, I think your next review should be the 2004 Barbie Dream Volkswagen Convertible. I heard the transmission on that baby is second to none.
Haven Tenney hahahahahahahahah
awh what a bummer its auto! so lucky ^_^
Review would have been more professional without the added ring around the nose.
