This shouldn’t be how this series ends. We haven’t seen the core completed their careers in Utah. This has been the greatest GM mode in 2bc history. The Utah yetis deserves another chance to win the Stanley cup for the 5th time in franchise history. It doesn’t matter about the 3 peat. You have an opportunity to do something that you may never do again in your future GM modes. Jobs not finished.

The amount of penalties that the yetis get is way too much. I don’t even think that dropping down the sliders are not going to help. EA is always going to find a to keep John from winning.
But then the cheating allegations and the non-default settings would feel unauthentic. It is super annoying than no matter what, the simulation loves penalties and hates goalies.

It's often not checked, but at the end of a simmed regular season, go look at your Times Short Handed column, you'll consistently be top 2 in the league, every season. This is proof that the game cheats to try and nerf the user team, no matter how good of a job they do icing a solid squad. Playoffs no different, you'll be first place for most times short handed in the post season and there's nothing you can do to avoid it. EA purposely cheats to make the users lose, the only way to be somewhat consistent is to build a complete juggernaut, which as we see here, still manages to somehow lose.
Johnny you need to make some changes. Idk why you have Vesce on the left defense on the 2nd PP unit, put him up front he has total eclipse gold and big tipper silver. That will help him score more goals. Here another thing, yes Helleson played good but you need that 83-84 overall 3rd pair again, that did you wonders and got you the cup. Get rid of Chychrun and Faber and go get yourself some legit players on D in their primes at around the 85-87 range if you can. Hynes sucks but hopefully this is a 1 off. Hopefully we'll get back to the cup Utah

Perhabs the Bulldogs are back in town? The storyline could be : after failing to buy the Coyotes back in the days to bring the team in Steel City, the former owner of Blackberry Jim Balsilly FINALLY gets his team awarded by Gary Bettman and the NHL. With a new revamped First Ontario Centre, the Maple Leafs fans that are sick and tired from chearing for loosing team will now go behing this new Hamilton team in his quest to glory. Balsillie has now named Johny Superb his new GM given his track record, with one mission in mind : beat the Vegas Golden Knights as the quickest expansion team in history to win a Stanley Cup...let me know what you think of it !
It would be a good idea, but he just had an expansion team twice with Seattle and now Utah. Also getting a team to win its first cup is almost impossible. Vegas did had a shot to win it but it wasn’t a video game. There is a bunch of things that have to go right when he does his NHL 25 GM mode. He has to make the perfect chemistry with the lineups because he’s not going to get that many superstars that quickly. He has to draft what teams are willing to give up in the expansion draft and the NHL draft as well and avoid EA voodoo. I think it would be good for John to go to an eastern conference team. The Pittsburgh penguins or the Columbus blue jackets.

one more run!! This team is too iconic to call it because we missed the cup...its about the legacy now!! Thats bigger than a three peat. We know you wanted it, we wanted it too...but Utah could still make NHL history...4 in 6 in the bag, can we go 5 in 7?? 6 in 8?? 7 in 9?? treat each season as if it is a new run at a new title and last season didn't exist, that gets us caught up in emotional attachment to players and that never works out. Personally, I'd like to see us go for that franchise defenseman in the draft!! we could clear out 1 or 2 of the goal scorers that no longer fit (Vesce, Cooley, Sivan, Kurtz, Kurri (Kurri deserves to retire a Yeti) safe from trade, everyone else is on the block) reload with the 3 scorer mindset that got us the cups before we started packing the bench with ringers...rebuild the team around Vesce, see if he can break Ovechkins goal record
Yeti will be back but I do think you’re right about the sim and essentially “too many mouths to feed” taking away from Vesce. Go back to with what worked with Raimo, Cooley, Vesce and a more defensive oriented bottom 6 with a couple offensive guys mixed in with Carkner and Knies. Move on from Pasta and Leon. Donny could be an issue so I’d definitely try to get a very reliable backup, maybe not in the off-season but at least at the deadline next season

At minimum he should do a marathon where he almost takes a “hockey ops” role and sims 5+ more seasons. Even if it’s one video. Don’t see John starting another one before the next game right so he could even just make this his longest gm mode ever. I will say the game mode starts to get ridiculous 15+ years in.

Hynes sims bad because hes a butterfly goalie, if you look at his stats his glove and blocker are literally lower than your 82 overall backup's. He may as well be an 82 overall, his overall is just inflated because he has very good recoveries as a butterfly goalie. He's not your guy.
Now it’s Vesce vs Erne. Who will have the greatest career. Who can beat the goal record? I feel like Cooley is falling off also I believe you’re right bringing in too many new players and messing with the chemistry.
“Donny you’ve sucked” Doesn’t take him out. This game goalies are so random. But if you think about it so are goalies in real life. Andrew Hammond, Arthur silovs this year. Jordan binnington in 2019. The fact that you didn’t even give the other goalie a game was making me so angry

I think the only thing that needs to be done is the defense has to be overhauled after the drop off of both chychrun and faber, also vali may be a little overrated, I’d get a new partner for Kurtz and then keep lindstein since he’s always like a +30 regular season and can be good if you play him alongside a fawcett to let him develop
Why does EA just fuck the user team's goaltending in playoffs? I've experienced this so much. I always have amazing goalies with X-factors and great regular seasons, then I get 0.800sv% goaltending consistently in the playoffs.. it's fucking stupid.

The simulation is just full of ea voodoo. He got the cup on the second sim on stream, just like it almost always happens for him.

No he is in his prime. He won’t drop for a very long time. The reason why Vesce wasn’t playing well is because John didn’t keep the top 3 together.
