Man I can’t wait for quik to become the #2 player in Europe again. His samus was so fun to watch during pre quarantine and his sets against glutonny were crazy even when glutonny was sandbagging
Quik is actually the inspiration for my playstyle with Dark Samus. I love that Quik approaches just as much as Fatality while obviously utilizing Samus's toolkit and zoning. Samus has such an awesome aggressive game and it's disappointing (but understandable) that she has the reputation she has
@@bsmccrunner4 I disagree, I see him reset for better advantageous spacing a lot but I wouldn't say he runs away repetitively. Sonic, min min, even banjo and diddy will run away repetitively, samus needs to space at mid range for optimum efficiency with tether and her projectile burst options.
I had to watch this. For years now my main has been falcon, and samus has been my secondary. The whole time I keep running drills in my head on what I would do to counter the other based on my own play style.
It's always refreshing to see a player truly master their character. Some players are really good but alot of time don't master their character. I think Tweek is a good example of this. For instance Tweek just being amazing at the game he was able to do amazing with his older characters but I never got the impression he mastered one until he started using Diddy.
@@NurseBadTouch I look at it like this, you have people that have mastered Ultimate, people that have mastered characters, and the few people that have mastered both. The people that end up doing both are usually your top 10 to 15 players.
@@FlashReturns agreed, I could never imagine being able to play well with every single character, the time and knowledge that has to be put into that is so impressive
@@Bladieblah Yea but he didn't master the character. He's not doing the things Quidd is doing with PT. And he's not doing the things Gluttony does with Wario. He's literally just better than them at Smash so his 90 percent PT is still better than a 100 percent Quid. If you can't comprehend that then whatever. Diddy is the first character that seems to mesh with him and you can honestly say he has mastered the character. Just because someone is a better player overall doesn't mean they are necessarily better with the character.
This was a much anticipated dream come true! Wanted to see the worlds best Bounty Hunters face off for awhile. So privileged to finally see it in action!
I seriously love that fhe fact that fatality has been facing the world's best players lately! The best samus in Europe, the best hong kong player, Pinkfresh, Ned, Tilde, etc. These Ft10 sets are hype! Keep it going!
This felt amazing to watch as a very new casual player. Especially since I play both Samus and Falcon. The movements, spacing, decision making, mix-ups, clear mastery of both characters. Just wow. Before anyone replies with "Choose a playstyle" or whatever, I have a question for you. Don't you think the most casual playstyles are spamming projectiles from across the stage and running in with reckless abandon?
“I feel like this matchup is pretty even” Falcon seems to struggle against that broken edgetrapping/guarding more then Samus struggles with his speed don’t you agree? Edit: I main Samus and my secondary is Falcon, I REALLY love this matchup.
I think part of the hard part with this matchup as Falcon is the fact that in this game they gave Samus (and other zoners like ROB) close quarters boxing tools. Approaching from the air is almost impossible on certain stages or positions because of Samus' up air and forward air. Samus up air alone beats any approach option Falcon has, even down air half the time. On stages like small battlefield, this becomes even more prevalent because she can just platform camp with zair or charge shot. To top it off, if Falcon gets put off stage against Samus, he basically dies for free from either ledge trapping or edgeguards. It's really difficult as Falcon to edgeguard Samus, especially because the up air or fair off the ledge will catch you if you slip on a two frame down air attempt, and then suddenly you've taken 40% damage, you can see fatality adapt partially to this during the set by going for ledge trump options instead at times. That's not even getting into Samus nair tbh which is another really good boxing tool for Samus in the air. I think a lot of this matchup is stage dependent, from what I can tell the slants probably help Falcon (could be wrong on that though). Small battlefield is an absolute no, I feel like that stage is awful for Falcon. I can't say I personally enjoy the matchup, but I think this matchup really stretches Falcon to his limits in terms of punish game, and getting in is much more difficult than getting in on even Pikachu imo. Also, dark Samus is far worse in this matchup than Samus I think, because dark Samus doesn't have the hurt-box shifting that Samus does. Samus constantly turns into a ball when in double jump and other positions in the air, combined with Samus' down b and you've got yourself a character that's almost impossible for Falcon to juggle, at least not without taking a good 10 to 20% in the process. Watching this first to 10 with that in mind makes it very interesting to watch, especially to see how far Fatality pushes the matchup and falcon

Nice to see a Samus hold forward some of the time instead of always running away like a coward. Fatality did a good job of taking stocks very early. Would like to see these two play again sometime
I don't think this match-up is even because it's hard to weave around these giants hitboxes, and Falcon's recovery and ledge options seem horrendous against her.
