Out of time, warped and detuned, distorted and over compressed. Breaks every production rule out there, but sounds totally amazing. Only Flume can do that.
flying lotus has been doing wonky distorted stuff for years (paired with the rule breaking of jazz). if you like this sorta stuff you should definitely check him out, he was probably a pretty big inspiration for flume.

That wasn't my point - there are a lot of people who try to make something sound "wrong" and only a few that do it as well as Flume.

If I were to guess? They might be referring to the slight but constant changes in the beat and offbeat. I can see this song lasting a long time for being less...boring? It's a little less predictable than other mainstream songs to a first time listener. Mini rant over.

My theory? Flume is a 5th dimensional music producer who somehow got to our dimension, and is sharing the sounds of his dimension. Explaining why it all sounds sort of off and simultaneously perfect.
