Rauru assumed otherwise with that line but he's wrong because the developers made a time loop story again.
That's what SS was. A loop. Everything that SS's Link and Zelda do in the past only helps to create the very same world that they grew up in. The defeat of Demise in the past destroyed his body and trapped his mind in the Master Sword to be eroded away to nothing over time, but it left the essence of his power behind for Impa to reseal. The part of him that was like a primal force of nature. In the present day, that mindless remnant of Demise leaks out of the seal and takes shape as the Imprisoned beast that we fight a few times throughout the game. It could not reform its original body and it lacked the intelligence that used to drive it, so it became a wild rage beast.
And TotK is meant to come across as a loop as well. We should assume that the Light Dragon was always there the whole time, staying out of the way of however many tens of thousands of years of history until the time was right. Before Zelda went back in time, Ganon already recognized Zelda and knew of Link and the Master Sword from Rauru's boasting in the final moments of the fight between Ganon and Rauru.
The devs would've presented the state of present day Hyrule very differently if they were to attempt to write the story in a way that takes Link into the past as well. Because it would need to be a loop that supports that result as the status quo. The cause of them being sent back into the past in the first place would most likely look completely different from the TotK we saw. And it would be an alternate reality, a different timeline, from the continuity established for BotW and TotK.
Heck, just for fun maybe set the story in Lorule's reality / timeline instead of Hyrule? Just enough similar elements as the TotK Imprisoning War story but set in a very different version of the world. (Take the BotW/TotK map and imagine it with the design of the terrain in each area flipped so that hot areas in one world are cold in the other, dry areas in one world are wet in the other, lush thriving areas in one world are desolate in the other, etc. Plus the vice versa of all those statements. I'd hope to see bigger differences than what LBW did though. Perhaps Lorule never abandoned its Great Plateau and their massive palace is built up there while there would be little of importance in the location in Lorule corresponding to where Hyrule built its palace, for example.) The story would be about Hilda and Ravio finding themselves sent back in time to aid in an ancient war.

Man where are you when those pseudo intellecual "Zelda theorists" start discussing the Lore...? You should be making videos regarding the series's future instead of them!

I just like the idea of Link going back with Zelda instead of being stuck in the present having to clean up the aftermath just like how BotW was like. I think that's what is missing from the latest two games, we're not helping the current issue, we're in the aftermath of it. Plus the whole map could've easily been changed during the past era that it would've felt brand new to explore.
    New characters and what not.

Zelda dealt with time splits so perhaps they would have created a time where the Zonai and the Hyruleans are thriving in peace if Link defeated Ganon. Ganon would have been defeated, Sonia would have survived, and Ganon would have not gotten Sonia's tear. Maybe a new evil would have been reincarnated like Demise said would happen.

If that happened it would have made TOTK 100% better!

Link going back in time with Zelda would doom Hyrule in both ages. Zelda didn't fall into the chasm and teleport thru time until AFTER jerky Ganon broke the Master Sword. It's implied in the memories that the only reason Link could destroy the Demon King was because of the thousands of years the Master Sword had to recover with Zelda. Huge problem, would take a lot of explaining away.

But the story is written by the writers. So if they wanted to write Link going back to the past and still beat Ganondorf, they would've written the story differently so that they get the outcome they want. They could've written it like, Zelda is able to send someone else forward in time, but not herself due to her limitations. Or, she chose to only send Link forward in time and stay back so she can power the Master Sword. It wouldn't be a huge problem to write around.

@@ShallBePurified and that's what makes the idea of Hyrule Warriors: The Imprisoning War so exciting! Even if they went back at the same time with a broken Master Sword, I'm certain they could write their way out of the how. I'd be willing to bet Sonia and Rauru's power combined could restore it, or Dinraal, Naydra, and Farosh could be involved somehow.

@@aaronkerley395 Personally I'd rather they make a Warriors game with a new IP. There aren't enough interesting new characters from TotK to justify it imo.

a good thing link went back with zelda in this hypothetical
if he was the only one dragged back through time by the secret stone it'd probably take all of 30 minutes before he tries to swallow the thing completely unprompted and unaware of it's effects
we've seen that guy eat actual magma rocks in age of calamity, he would not be above the tiny little glowing pill if nobody was there to stop him

age of calamity is probably my favourite game in the era of the wild, so a totk hyrule warriors would actually reduce me to a squealing pile of mush

I disagree Zelda didn’t do much- she had to chance to save sonia- change the past but no- she didn’t- things played out the same way- so even if link was there or not- only thing she did was restore the sword- her only good sacrifice. Her presence in the past did not make any good impact. So yes it’d had been better if link was there- also as new experience for us the gamers to enjoy hyrule of the past.

This would be an amazing opportunity for sure with different twists, and new arias to explore. Having Link living the events as they unfold and doing a quest to heal the Master Sword! It would be a game I would like to play!

if link went back and zelda created a time portal with zonai tech, things could play out similarly to skyward sword with link having to deal with ganon in both times

Would he have been able to destroy Ganondorf in the past without the master sword? It was shattered BEFORE Zelda went back in time.

    • @LoinkLoink
      @LoinkLoink 6 месяцев назад

Probably. The only time the Master Sword was required was to defeat the Demon Dragon, so assuming Ganondorf doesn't decide to eat the stone, it stands to reason that he could be defeated without the Master Sword.

Link going back in time to where Zelda was could be a good plot for a Warriors game based on TOTK about the Imprisoning War!
EDIT: I wrote my original comment before watching the very end 😂
