In my case I did not see the Option "Open with live server" when I right clicked on the html file. To make that option avail we need to go to View-->Extensions . Then type Live server, install live server.

Hi, I am facing an error with vs code. The python version is not showing up in the bottom left area. and also the kernel is not able to connect with python. Sometimes it also says that the python extension is not installed kindly install it. I already have python 3.8 but still, it shows this error. I watched a lot of videos but nothing worked. Folder is properly opened but Go Live option is not showing on Status Bar, but show on status bar is checked in extension settings. If I right click and click Open with Live Server then nothing happens, even any error message is not popped up. I even tried to open the port by typing localhost:5500 in browser but got nothing. On right clicking status bar, I am not getting Live Server option which I can tick/untick. The issue is happening since once while working with live server open and electricity went off, I had no CPU, I had thought that my extension became corrupt, I tried uninstalling & reinstalling the extension twice, nothing worked. Please kindly look after my issue and suggest a solution.

Thanks for the comment Habeeb. Actually in the video I was just explaining that instead of opening a html file and trying live server to work is a fatal mistake and istead of it have a folder created and inside it keep all your html, css, js, etc files and then open that folder in your va code and wallah! Your live server will start working ☺

No wrong understanding. The Auto-save options automatically saves any changes which you can get from file drop down option of vs code, else live server doesn't deal with auto saving

Means auto save is not on.. Click on File on Upper left hand side and in the drop box click on Auto Save.

Then it seems you are not properly importing css in your HTML file. Since if your html page is working on live server then all others must work provided you call them properly.

This problem occurs when you are just opening a file instead of a foldsr... So always create an empty folder inside which keep your all works... So that you first open that folder in VS code so that entire path is available of your project to the local server
