As someone who is about pivot in their career, in their early 40’s, to an MSW program emphasizing on military mental health, this video was *perfect*, Devin! And I won’t even be necessarily “marketing” in the traditional sense, but making sure to track articles, opinions, etc (outside of my own military experience bubble) will be a huge add to my online presence.
16:30 - i’ve always wondered about how people gain success from choosing a niche. like when consultants start out and go for specifically mid-range retail furniture stores that specialize in leather couches, how do you even know where to start looking for that type of audience? like yeah i could guess that they’re on linkedin and facebook. but what if im wrong, and they’re actually on instagram, twitter & reddit? how do you know if the business is better off going somewhere else or if it just straight up sucks? appreciate your content devin! it’s 4 am and i have work in 5 hours but i stayed up just to sit and learn about network effect for 35 minutes:)
16:30 here... You make it look so easy. Like just to create tons of impressions, it sond so easy yet it's never that easy. I love your content, thank you for making it.
Devin's videos (esp. the patreon ones) gave me a huge leg up in my occupation. I'm not a marketer by trade, I do revenue management. I have to sell things to people using price alone without ever talking to people. If I didn't understand our market by looking at who we target I couldn't do my job as effectively. It's videos like this that teach things that are never spoken about in Unis, but are invaluable in CorpoAm. This lesson is worth AT LEAST $1630, but you can get this and more for a mere $5. So thank you Devin!
@@RobReithOp works in revenue management, so maybe they're just used to extremely specific pricing. That, or maybe they just peeked at one of their first months since listening to Devin and used that as a metric.
16:30 I just started my digital and social media marketing classes in school and my teachers are impressed that I understand so much right out of the gate. Little do they know, I've been watching you for years now. So I'm basically a pro at this point xD
I am totally one of those people that was like hey Devin has a new video about marketing better watch this afternoon. Also 16:30 thanks for making awesome stuff Devin!
16:30 Still here! Love the content. I'm building a thing where I work with streamers to grow their brands. Early days, but you've always been a big influence. Appreciate it man.
16:30 This perfectly fits with "0 to 1"! I've spent some time figuring out who my customers are / could be and I'm working on the top of the funnel. As always, excellent stuff.
16:30 It amazing how the storytelling stuff really works. I found out you recently, haven't seen you in any other social media, but am binge watching your videos and will probably join your patreon. From like, 3 videos here. Is it the lenght of the video (that I went trough keeping attention all the time) that made me reach saturation faster or the relevance of the content?
Yeah... I am one of those people who likes to sit down and listen to some network effect talk on a Wednesday afternoon. May not be your purpose here (or maybe it was....) but I think you just made me a Patreon sub. Listened to you for years, but this example has finally pushed me over the top to give up the monies. And to fan boy for a second. Thanks for all the great content. So very interesting, well paced and thought out. Don't think I've listened to a video and walked away feeling like I wasted my time. So thank you for all that.
"man, it's the afternoon and i sure would like to watch a 30 minute video about network and saturation effect" i hear you devin. i'm one of your people
16:30 gang. Even tho I have no ambition to pursue a job in marketing or social media I find your videos always very intriguing. When friends tell me they want to become streamers and or build a brand I always recommend to watch your videos
16:30 I don't really work in this space but I find all your videos so interesting. It's cool to see these concepts and then think about "Oh hey this content creator I watch does this really well" or something idk... Thanks for the content!
16:30 - this was a very insightful video as I am studying Social Media Marketing and data analytics and honestly has provided me with a wholistic overview of much of the material I am learning currently. Keep up the great work, I appreciate your ability to articulate these concepts so simply and succinctly!
16:30 Insightful as always and even though I am in the same profession as you, I watch your video to get a different perspective or to cover things I may have missed.
16:30 Thankyou Devin. 🙏You have successfully cleared the fog on understanding the drive behind actionable content, something which I have been attempting to piece together for many months.
I'd love to see one dedicated to paid advertising for new brands. Building a strong reputation out of word of mouth can be difficult for new brands/concepts/creators. As Devin has stated before discovery on many platforms outside of maybe RUclips or TikTok can be near to impossible so many of them fall back on paid campaigns with close to no idea of how to do it effectively
Thank you Devin Nash! Again! You've answered my main question I've been wondering and your content I've been helping me understand branding better and now that I found a niche I'm passionate about just like how I'm passionate about video games, I would love to show you the results you've helped me create down the road! Thanks again Devin!!!
Gotta say I love your vids. So insightful and informative always leaves me wanting more. I'm an artist and feel that I'm always lacking business and marketing sense. Imma look thru your vids and see if you cover how to find out what your demographic is. I think once I know that I'll have a better sense of which way to go. Thanks again for your vid.
16:30 thanks Devin this video is great like all your other videos you explain everything great and I look forward to your future videos you are in my top subscribed I check by daily for new uploads. I think I should join your patreon cause it gives back and you keep saying there's tons of videos like these I'll check it out soon
16:30 Your an absolute genius and I absolutely adore your content As someone who has recently started a business while in college, these videos give me so much clarity. I appreciate what you do immensely, and without a doubt, I am going to sub to that patron, if for no other reason than to support you.
16:30 - Great information as usual, I always learn something when I watch your videos (more like multiple things). Definitely gonna be thinking about how I can use these concepts to grow my own businesses in the future. Thank you Devin!
This video happened to be perfect timing for me to start my journey as an influencer. Thank you, this gives me clear steps on how to start to work on my goal.
God I love these kind of videos. My biggest hurdle for myself for the rest of the year is actually acting on it though. I guess it boils down to holding myself accountable to treat things more like a business than a "silly little thing I do that no one understands in my IRL circle and I dont want to tell anyone cause they'll laugh at me" .... (yes often thoughts I get) But i friggin love this shit. I find it so fascinating thank you!
Holy cow I didn't know Devin had over 90 videos like this on Patreon at this point. Probably going to pull the trigger in the coming weeks and get some freelance work off the ground.
1630 gang where you at Honestly, this was a very solid high level overview of some marketing concepts. I'm confident that anyone spending some time mulling them over could apply them to their own endeavors, even before Devin reveals more secret sauce on _how_ to do so in the coming minutes.
Great vid Devin! I've seen this happen in so many varieties of content creation. I really like the idea you stated of living in the environment of the consumer. I never really thought of it that way. Thanks very much!
Every time I watch these videos I take a step closer to that saturation point. That patreon content seems so tantalising after the value you bring for free here.
16:30 - any thoughts on how this marketing and B2B marketing differs? I work for a growing MSP and copier dealer in the PNW. I shared this video with our marketing director to get her thoughts. Your videos helped me understand how she thinks immensely.
This was a very helpful and interesting video to watch. I like how you mentioned twitter, making a brand account and also make a second account as well. I actually do this on twitter where I have a personal account and a professional account where I post my art online, minus any personal related tweets. Some people find it very strange when a person has multiple twitter accounts. And that's fair if you are already a brand or have a huge following. For me, I made two accounts as a social experiment. I pretty much did what you suggested and found the audience to follow and engage with. It's very interesting to see which followers are interested or not interested in the tweets you make. I also believe in the whole.. Dont put all your eggs in one basket. It's always good to branch out as much as possible.
While a lot of the people in VRChat have bought a VR, there is still a significant amount of desktop users (people who are not in VR) few of these own any VR
After watching I am definitely going to go out there and do some market research. Almost done my first project and need to see if I can get people to use it. Gave me some great ideas to start with. Also the collab with those in your own zone is something I had been thinking about incorrectly also. Cheers
16:30 also im pretty sure there's a good amount of peeps that didn't comment, cuz i almost didnt lmao impulse made me cuz i appreciate ur content a lot :)
Man it is one of my favorite things to do is sitdown on a wednesday affternoon and listen to 35 minutes of network effect.
🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha took 30 minutes but I finally get this comment 😂
WTF, it is Wednesday afternoon for me, RUclips Algorithm is crazy
