- Hi people! Today we are doing a review of the new Chang’e doll made by Mattel from the film Over the Moon. It’s a beautiful movie that you all must watch btw :)

The lesson about moving on from a dying loved one was great in the film. And that hairstyle does seem pretty impossible to do with actual doll hair without a lot of gel, so making it a plastic piece doesn't feel too horrible. And it's nice to see Mattel actually making quality doll clothes again, as their quality has been lacking lately. And the body seems very similar to the body for the Mattel Wonder Woman dolls.
I think she’s a beautiful doll, and very accurate to the source material. The plastic hair doesn’t bother me, because i genuinely don’t know how they would have done this style with all of the beads and baubles and still have it look good in the box and be able to be shipped, which I think a lot of collectors don’t think about. Great review!

I haven't seen this movie but i love that the creator is Glen Keane because he is create my favorite Disney characters, (Ariel and Rapunzel) and i love asian culture so much.
At all Over The Moon dolls by Mattel Chang'e is the best, i super adore the box and outfit.

Seeing your complete set of Over the Moon dolls at the end propells me to buy them all! I love the movie, and the fact that Mattel perfectly captures the characters' essence and face in the dolls satisfies me greatly! I bought the Popstar Chang'e the other day and kept admiring her face. There's just something very pleasant about her. My collector Chang'e is arriving tomorrow and I'm on my toes for her! My Fei Fei doll's arriving next week too. I'm so excited to complete my collection!

ok, first thing: i looove this doll!! she looks gorgeous!! a mayor improvement for Mattel!! speaking of wich... LAYERS???!! like, they give her a multi layered outfit?? and the fabrics!! why Mattel didn't do this for their dolls anymore when they clearly have the potential for it??? and i think you're rigt, they might be using a WW body, since they launched the WW 1980'S series this year.
I love the colour so bright, the face mold is really accurate and the fabric of the close is not just glitter satin. I love that they gave her that floating fabric. she looks like a expensive doll, but need to be in her box. coming out, it's a lot of plastic and she loses some of her expensive magic.
I loved the designs and the animation because they were so pretty but the story they made felt lackluster tho, like I thought if they phrased some of the things differently or added a little more story into it it would’ve been a really beautiful movie with the story as well as the art. But the doll is absolutely lovely

Im so happy they did this doll. I really hope the movie does well enough that some day maybe we'll get her red look too. I'd loose my mind if we saw Disney LE style of her it would be so amazing (I know she's not Disney) or even a more high end Barbie LE
Hopefully, they will also make a doll of her in her Ping Pong outfit that comes in a set with a Chin doll

She is very old school Mattel.... Honestly old school Mattel would have recreated the hairstyle with actual hair... But you can't really tell it's plastic lol... So I think she's a cute doll... I wouldn't buy her but she's a cute adition for a junior collector..
It would be very hard to create her hair style in mass production

I feel like maybe I've just been spoiled by MGA's LOL OMG doll line, but I'm pretty disappointed by the quality of this doll, although not really surprised given the way Mattel's quality has gone downhill over the years. Way too many plastic pieces for my taste, it looks like a nicer playline doll, not an adult collector doll. I would be totally satisfied if she was priced $25-30, but she doesn't seem to be worth $60 for me personally.

I'm more than a little upset that they made dolls of Chang’e and Fei Fei, but they didn't make a doll of Chin. He's like one of the best characters in this movie. It only makes sense that there should be a doll of him because there's more of the movie that you can reenact if you have dolls of all of them (Chang’e , Fei Fei, and Chin). And "Over The Moon" is not an overly girly movie, cause Fei Fei is into science and astronomy, so it only makes sense that they should have toys of the boy characters and the girl characters for both the boys and the girls
I have the Basic Chang`e and her Body is close to the Wonder Woman/Mera/WWE Superstars Action Doll Body. But with slightly changes.
Her Breast are i little bit smaller. She is not as muscular as the Action Dolls. Softer.

I guess making Chang E wear the red designer hanfu dress is too ultraexpensive for a collectible 😂, but I love her green outfit too!

Yes you can take it off and it fits Barbie!
For sixty dollars I would want the hair to at least be wrapped around the plastic forms and if I had to knit pick I'd say I'd also want the beads and jewels to dangle.
