Great video, as always. For me, Constant Image Area with three or four way masking is definitely the best way to go: You still get the benefit of 'scope movies being wider (as they should be), but at the same time don't compromise the size of 1.85:1 films. Different aspect ratios, but both the same size. Perfect.

How is the masking controlled? For instance, Top Gun Maverick switches between aspect ratios during the movie, could the masking be programmed that it automatically switches between scenes?
Honestly, that would be really awkward, because those things change faster than the masking could. The only seamless way would be to use a video processor, like madVR that reads several frames ahead, and switch is at the exact same time as the content changes. But there are so few movies that have multiple aspect ratios.
@@Youthman Indeed there are relatively very few - and I'm one of those people who would prefer it if there were far fewer..! I blame Nolan for this annoying gimmick.
I’m not going to have something this awesome but my screen is going to be 132x73. This will give me a 149” 16:9 and a 150” 2.39:1. I went with Seymour center stage xd and I will just make 4 masking panels with magnets when I want to change ratios.
would love to hear these speakers one day. I love the idea of this, but I wonder if I would prefer this over NLS. I really do like filling up my entire screen.
With masking, your screen fits the content, so you're still filling the entire screen, the screen is just making the adjustment without distorting the image by using NLS. It's a much better way to go IMO.
Been using Seymour for years now. Why drop thousands on home theater equipment to chop aspect ratios on a locked projector screen. You are getting the movie experience the director intended regardless. This will become more popular as imax continues to push into the main stream of big budget films.
why do you guys go so over the top for such a small room - you planning on making your customers deaf? most people buy stuff that is way more than they need thanks to greedy types like you

I love this! It can accommodate IMAX movies and 2:40 aspect ratios. People forget about screen masking but it truly makes a difference!
Most impressive 👍😀
This is truly game changing and incredible. Dude is a genius
Seymour screen materials are excellent in my experience and Chris Seymour himself is such a nice person to talk to and hang out with.
So true! Chris such a nice patient guy!

What's the price range for a TAM 10' - 20'?
Love my new Seymour AT screen (Thanks Ryan!). The image has a whole new depth with the excellent screen material. - Cheers!
I need this for my theater!!! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
CHRIS!!!!!! I KNOW HIM!!!!
Having a resource like Chris and his company nearby (~30 minutes away) is a huge blessing in the AV hobby.
Chris is an enabler.
That 4 way masking is so smooth 😮😊❤
That room looks amazing in all the videos and pics I’ve seen!!!!
This is of course by far THE BEST WAY to view content. To have the F U MONEY to field this in a HT would be awesome.
5:06 Loved the way Chris described the Barco Njord.
Wow, that's Sick... AWEsome!!!
4 way masking is industry leading. Amazing.
Definitely getting this one day
Excellent video and can't wait for the one with Anthony.
Thank you for the super thanks!
are these guys coming to Mwave this year? i’d love to see these screens.

I wish my pockets. Were deep. I would have all top of the gear. Flagship equipment. 😭
I'm making a poor man's version of this. By getting a 2.39:1 screen and putting a rail over it with a couple of black curtains to mask down to 16:9.
@@wafflesforbrains9502 That's not a poor man's version - that's a *smart* man's version.
Trigger warning: MadVR and Kaleidescape were used in this room😂😅
Man to experience a $500K room just once in my lifetime ❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥
Come to CEDIA next year.
I need it, i have 110 inch.

It’s the best method, but also the most expensive.
Move it back to July!

you could rent out the zeigfeld in manhattan for less than this nonsense costs
What makes it nonsense? Just because you aren't interested doesn't mean others aren't.
all that to watch some shitty bargain bin action movie
