Thank you all for your support! It's crazy how much attention this is getting, I started this series out with 12 followers and since posting this video have gotten 100! I'm in the process of working on Tiel and Harros. I hope to have them out soon. Hope you enjoyed the video.
interesting thing how a man so desperate to escape war and conflict that when he finally did it he was all ready so corrupted by the outside world to the point that peace drove him mad. wanting purpose he joined a religion in order to receive orders. in the end the doctrine that he pledged himself to was what killed him in the end. how tragic. good job on the lore. i loved the vid. your the new VaatiVidya but for mortal shell. i cant wait to see whats next.

Been desperately waiting for something like this on mortal shell. I was really excited that the game seemed to support this kind of lore analysis and this has filled in a lot of my personal gaps in this particular story. You did a great job highlighting the tragedy here. Happy to subscribe
I would love to see a TV series based on the Mortal Shell Lore. Medieval world with fantasy/magic elements, religious conflict, spiritual seeking, etc. Intertwining stories of the four shell characters in the mortal world or may be from different time periods, story of Hadern transcending to be the deliverer, the story of the Foundling in the spirit realm, stories of the NPCs...
So, immaculate path is the most vile of the cults. It strips you of your will, then forces you to kill, then, after the frenzy subsides, you are frozen in ice. Damn, that's some vicked crazy shit.
I don't know yet if this is mentioned in the video, but weirdly enough the same kind of "adoring statues" (or shells maybe?) can be seen in front of Tarsus's room, and in front of the hole we emerge from at the start of the game, under the ribcage. Also a close look at the being we extract glands from, it seems we might be the same kind as they are. Same kind of muscle-like texturing.
I know I'm a bit late to the party, but your work make a great listen. Thanks man, I'm playing Mortal Shell right now and it's good to see all these peaces packed together.
Great video. Thank you for your work. The game is very ambiguous with it's lore and sometimes when you are fighting to survive you glance over the finer details. I do at least lol. I look forward to more of your content.
I'm aware of the unique dialogues you encounter in the game while playing as Harros, Solomon and Tiel. However I never found one with Eredrim. Does anybody have any?
R Rhyner Brether Corvid has unique dialogue for each shell and the foundling form, however with Harros and Eredrim he will present you options. I wont spoil it discover it yourself.
Good video,so interesting.Talk about the unborn pls.We and the revered are unborns I guess, but we are not similar. Hadern can harden himself as us,is he unborn too? Corvid's order hate us because our ancestors did something very evil. When the Revered came to Fallgrim, their presence was bad for the forest, killing a lot of animals. And finally,we face a lot of black beings very similar to us commanded by the final boss, why?
Just subscribed. You do a great job with these and your attention to detail is top notch. Can't wait for you to do the other shells and maybe a video on the main plot. Keep up the good work and I hope you become successful!
Late to the party again, do you have in plans to tell the Virtous Circle's story? In 10:13 the skeletons seem to fit Twin'sister's anatomy, she has the mask of the Unchained, and there is a trophy for completing the dlc (dlc, not just one run) specificly with only 1 shell, Hadern. The trophy is named "a change of heart". The dialogs also suggest that the hub tower was built specificly for the kind of Foundling, they were once worshiped like other Imaculates, Unchained's and Twin-sister's masks were made to prevent ongoing petrification (something the Foundling controls and she doesn't), Haden and Solomon knew each other and had opposing goals towards this Virtous Circle.
Yeah I'm working on another and I have a vid up on solomon if you havent seen it. Since it's getting more attention I'm going to put more effort into the editing than I did solomon's though
@@douglasdiggins8296 actually if you learn to play slow, the high damage of the blade along with Eredrims huge Hp and damage boosts you have an absolute slow TANK who absorbes and deals massive damage
Douglas Diggins no, no he actually isn’t. I went through a whole play through with him and the sword. With his bonus to break an opponents poise, you can easily just bait people into your charged R2. Against bosses his roll is amazing so you can get a hit or two in then roll or just try to stagger bosses. Plus with smaller enemies you just bait them in and keep them at bay with the poke attack. He goes very well with this sword, it bothers me when people think he sucks with it just because of his low stamina pool.
Someone please simplify it for me to understand. It is very confusing for me😅 All I understand is: Eredrim was tired of fighting He signed up for the deathless doctrine Then he saw people less capable than being enshrined. Then he was questioning why he is not being enshrined Then he got angry and started killing weak and unfit people Too much killing made the ovate catch him and execute him. Now my questions are: 1) What happens to people who are enshrined? Do they go to that “old world “ eredrim talks about? Does this mean ascension? 2) Why was the Martyr attacking us when we drank the nektar? 3) why was Eredrim found in front of the Eternal Narthex if he was killed in the Immaculate’s shrine? 4) was the immaculate even real? Like a real goddess? 5) Lastly, were the ovate’s promises even true or were they just misleading people? Please explain
So is it just me or is Eredrim the least interesting of the four (or five) shells? Perhaps I’m missing some way that his story ties into the larger overall narrative..?

So is the Martyr's Blade thematically fit Eredrim's lore ?
Yep!
Even though he's probably the worst shell to use it ahahahahaha!

This is a very good piece, it elaborated a lot on this character. Is there a way to contact to share findings and notes?
I'm pretty active on the official Mortal Shell discord

Honestly this is very were done.
great video, thank you!
Incredible lore. What is the music in background ?
Miserere Mei, a catholic song by Gregorio Allegri. pretty sure you can find it on youtube
So why is his body found so far away
The more I play Mortal Shell the harder it gets to ignore Jung smiling between the lines..
I using the hollow sword with him bc he's fast asf lol
So is it just me or is Eredrim the least interesting of the four (or five) shells? Perhaps I’m missing some way that his story ties into the larger overall narrative..?
It's just you
im a little late to the party but ive gone down the Mortal Shell lore rabbit hoke
