  • The pair of batteries I got from aliexpress had a minor issue with the wires heating up under load from the electric outboards nothing serious but will get more power and less voltage drop with thicker 10awg wires and xt90 connectors.
I also upgraded the BMS to 60ah max to see if it fixed the issue I had with the 3kw motor.

Hey can you update us about the degradation/longevity of this battery pack?

Hey, love the videos that you do. I was interested in purchasing the same pack as you did. Did the new BMS and wire gauge increase the AH rating from your initial testing? Seems as though these batteries are definitely a gamble but overall still worth it at the price point. Keep up the great content 👍

Thanks for watching! , I think they are fine for the price point , must do a follow up , i've been using a pair of batteries with an ebike joiner that balances them along with the max350 and is hasnt missed a beat and i'm out twice a week , only need to charge every other week as well. I'm a bit nervy on range for when i'm a bit away from the berth , am going to do a range test with the two to see how far I can get and maybe give me a bit more confidence as well.

Hi, thanks for the review. I wanted to buy a similar battery, only with a higher voltage as an external battery for my scooter. Do you have any results from further testing after replacing the BMS? thanks a lot :)
Did you buy from liitokala factory store? People say that in addition to the official store, sellers sell B grade cells and rewraps.

yes bought from liitokala factory store , have two packs for my outboard motor . I'll do another test and run them down to bare minimum and see what I can get out of them.

Have you tried capacity testing the pack to see if it can pull the full 50Ah? I don't think those cells are 5Ah, I've seen people pull anywhere from 4200 to 4600 from them. Haven't seen anyone test their max discharge rate but we know LiitoKala lies out their ass
and how did you feel about the nickel material used? I'd always assume they would use nickel plated steel which isn't what I would want but for some people they don't care....but for a marine application I don't think its acceptable.

I must do another capacity test after a year of use . I've had no issues . i don't leave the batteries on the boat and they are dry when in use.
