Thanks for the test on a cool old rifle. I would use safety glasses,the generous chambers sometimes cause a case rupture.thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching! Yeah I thought about that about a third of the way through recording but ended up just running through it. Check out the ammo testing video, the higher pressure cartridges definitely posed exactly that risk, but with the low velocity I haven't had any issues

I've got a rough condition one I'm bidding on atm. Since it's in rough shape I'm not worried about restoring it. If I win it I'll be either sleeving the barrel and breach with a new stainless steel sleeve or machining a ruger 1022 barrel to fit. Then I'll add a mild steel plate to the breach block. That'll allow it to safely shoot high velocity modern .22 and I'll try to pick up an old era appropriate Scope for it so it can be used for competition shooting

Wish someone would make a modern version of the Quackenbush.
Also, it looked like your roll on the shooting sticks was moving on you when you were shooting. May want to try a more solid rest?
You could have a new .22 barrel liner installed on it.

There are newer made rifles in the line that can stand modern ammo, it's just the fact mine is an earlier version that really caused ammo issues. Plus wear on the action, rifling, etc. Yeah the shooting sticks and bean sock are great, but not perfect. I've considered upgrading for a better rest.
