We are super proud to have been included as #39, #76 and #99!!! Incredible creative playing throughout with exceptional execution and sonic capturing. We very much tip our hat to your undertaking here. Wow!!!
Thank you so much! It made for quite the project but we’re not ones to sit around and settle for what’s easy. This was an excellent challenge for us. Cheers!
I’m blown away…. I’ve locked away a few ideas from this.. You two are talented and have been working real hard at your skills.. I can see that in this video the most.. Very nice!!
Love all of this! I regularly gig with a ‘65 Supraphonic, and saw/heard many of your demos using that snare. You guys gave me some great ideas for my gigging tunes! I heard a lot of snare sounds that would work with our set list. Thank you guys!
if you release this as a sample library that could be loaded into Slate Trigger or drum triggering software that Would be an excellent collection for any producer/engineer
Okay, some of those snare sounds are extremely tricky and you're gonna have to teach how to obtain them next season. Awesome episode. Very inspiring. Perhaps my favorite so far, heehee. Love the drum bungee. I just saw it on Revival Drum Shop's website the other day. How cool.
Maybe this is basic of me but my favorite was 92, perfect all-rounder. But all of the sounds were awesome and all of the grooves were 10/10. Amazing, fantastic, awesome video!
Just awesome!! Really appreciate all the work just a couple of you put in to these videos. Btw, 69 & 70 were just dope. Two sounds I’d probably use on a decent basis and you also did a great job of nailing or nearly nailing some exact song snare sounds. Like the clap from “Shout” I forget what number, but it was early and you had a cymbal and another splash on top (so 2 cymbals technically) and you got such a great clap sound from acoustic drums which is so hard. I also heard the “Walk This Way” snare and more. Very creative. Awesome.
Wow thar is so amazing how all the snare sounds are so great! Number 12 I always wonders about how it was done ..thanks. and a very HAPPY 100TH ANNIVERSARY! Keep it up guys the best drum channel ever! 😁👍👍🇨🇱❤💗💝💞
The noble and Cooley deep wood snare. And the superphonic tuned high with top die cast hoop rules. Craviotto snares are awesome if you win the lottery. Also the Ludwig jazz festival sounded great. Just about all TAMA ten lug snares with smooth bearing edges and decent heads will sound really good. Great demo.
Thanks! That was a fun one. 42 was another blast- Tom tunes low and using the gated sympathetic resonance of the snares from two other drums to provide the snare sound. -Ben
Super tasty and creative drumming guys! You won the internet today. Keep up the great work! Here's some tunes that came to mind while I was listening.... #4 Phil Collins: In the Air Tonight #12 Billy Squier: The Stroke #13 Soundgarden: Spoonman #21 Stanton Moore: Kooks on Parade #23 Every bad restaurant gig I’ve ever played #26 Sade: Sweetest Taboo? #27 Beatles: Come Together #30 Darn it. I know it! What is it!? #36 INXS: Need You Tonight #66 Wham: Everything She Wants (slowed down) #63 & 70 More proof that those Mapex Black Panther Snares from that era are some of the best made! #72 & 78 I want that snare!!!! #80 Tears for Fears: Everybody Wants to Rule the World #84 Frida: I Know There’s Something Going On #86 Red Hot Chili Peppers: Give It Away #90 Run DMC: Walk This Way #92 ACDC: Back in Black
Thanks so much! Nice work with identifying tunes. There most of yours were spot on though we had a few that you identified songs for that we weren't really even thinking of- must have been subconscious on our part. Cheers! -Ben
thank you guys just great. we can only imagine the time and energy you have put into it!! ❤️ it woud be very valueable if you can explaine the more experimental sounds like with al the splashes and bells on top of the snares. and maybe some post production tricks like in 42 or 100 or so. but great job!!! really appreciate it 💪🏼
So effing creative! Well done dudes! Hello Loops!! If I snag these and use them as loops and build a song would, that be cool? I could send it to you guys and if I ever released I could give you credit and become a patreon supporter
Thanks! We’d appreciate if you didn’t use any of this recorded material for your own music. We’re available for hire to create loops or play on recordings if you’re interested.
Cool video. Got some weird artifacts in post production. Many of the sounds have a flaming effect. Maybe plug-in latency? Might have been fun to have a short description of the sounds or techniques for those unfamiliar with post production techniques. Keep up the good work!
Red Rock 13” Fijian Mahogany stave snare with baseball bat bearing edges and a Kentville Kangaroo hide heavy gauge drumhead tuned nice and high. All details available via the spreadsheet linked in the description.

Some other neat sounds: Vic Firth practice tips, butt ends of brushes, metal butt ends of brushes, stick shots.
Anytime I need inspiration to record drums in fun creative ways, Im gonna watch this. Seriously incredible!
I sense my ears and heart are in for a treat but my wallet is in deep trouble

This one is a gold mine
My favorite episode, sounds great just listening with eyes closed.
Big fan of Cody’s “shell face” 😅 You guys are great!
Super awesome! Now you just need to make a 10 hour behind the scenes video... :D
If only the process had only taken 10 hours...😂
45 and 46 and 47 and 49 and 52 and 54 and 59!!!! And of course 62 and 72 and 81 is sooooo NEO SOUL and 83!!!

Very nice!!
Wow great job guys! You went all out with this one thanks so much . We are all grateful!
My god what an effort but so worth it. This is my new road trip track. Snare sounds all the way down.
Such a cool video - and snare drums are so versatile! Thank you for this massive display of that.
That NC snare is a killer!
Absolutely second that! Sounded pristine in every example! I'm proud so say I own one, as well.
Dudes, what an awesome collection of sounds, so much variety!
That Ludwig COB (sound 10) is a beauty.
2:14 - perfect for that Spin Doctor's snare sound!
Thanks for the demos. Some very interesting ones. Looking forward to what’s next!
Great video! Really inspiring. Thank you for all your hard work and time making this. Top notch!

You are simply the best. Great episode !
Love all of this! I regularly gig with a ‘65 Supraphonic, and saw/heard many of your demos using that snare. You guys gave me some great ideas for my gigging tunes! I heard a lot of snare sounds that would work with our set list.

Great video, and amazing editing!! It is very inspirational. Thank you for sharing!
Also, Happy 100th!!
This is awesome. It would be cool to see a video specifically about incorporating auxiliary percussion and hand percussion into kit playing.
#83 is soooo nice! Dilla vibe!

Too Tory i was thinking the same!
A couple of those splash-snare sounds reminded me of INXS and Fine Young Cannibals. Definite 80's stuff.
Okay, some of those snare sounds are extremely tricky and you're gonna have to teach how to obtain them next season. Awesome episode. Very inspiring. Perhaps my favorite so far, heehee. Love the drum bungee. I just saw it on Revival Drum Shop's website the other day. How cool.
#6, for example
Maybe this is basic of me but my favorite was 92, perfect all-rounder. But all of the sounds were awesome and all of the grooves were 10/10. Amazing, fantastic, awesome video!
10:12 Sound of Muzak 😍
🙏🏻 Had a fun time with that
But what's the one at 7:15???
Just awesome!! Really appreciate all the work just a couple of you put in to these videos.

paradise of snap!!
Im so early this isn't even on youtube yet.

Thanks! 12 required duplicating the snare close mic, reversing the hits and sliding them up to lead into the backbeats. Classic!
Great demo.
Amazing!
What are the nuts and bells you use?!
4:11 sixteen my favorite
The reverse echo on 12 is magnificent. If only there was some way to get that without post-processing!
The closest analog would be some sort of scrape across the head or a partially open hi-hat as a grace note. Larnell Lewis does this a bit. -Ben
Such a great Episode!!!! I love it =) Well done =)
7:43 #38 sweet!
8:32. #43 amazing crispness!
13:34 #74 3:2 son clave!
15:50 #88 way cool
74 not rumba claves is son clave
Great idea! Enjoying the video...
Inspiring! Thanks!
#37 - So many low fat non-ringy snares are just muted to death. But THAT one is fat and non-ringy but still has some sizzle to it. Definitely like!
thank you
Loved 39, 70
Sweet sweater
👊🏻
Amazing Video! You guys are sonic Gurus! Q: #100 is that an Original 1984 Tama Cordia Artstar 6.5x14? 17:43
Thanks! Yep- that was the first snare drum I ever got. Love that thing. -Ben
@@SoundsLikeADrum Would have been cool to see it being featured in more examples. Maybe in a future episode?
@@flocore Quite possibly if it fits in with the direction of the episode.
I love creative stuff like #11. 🥂
Thanks! That was a fun one. 42 was another blast- Tom tunes low and using the gated sympathetic resonance of the snares from two other drums to provide the snare sound. -Ben
#12 - The Stroke by Billy Squire.

@@SoundsLikeADrum I was holding out for Spoonie Gee: "The Big Beat"! That would have been a tough one.
7 blew out my speakers 😂
thank you guys just great. we can only imagine the time and energy you have put into it!! ❤️
it woud be very valueable if you can explaine the more experimental sounds like with al the splashes and bells on top of the snares. and maybe some post production tricks like in 42 or 100 or so.
but great job!!! really appreciate it 💪🏼
I think 42 was just a tom with snares attached on bottom somehow. Bungee?
One of my favorites also.
What heads and stuff did you use.for 43 please
So effing creative! Well done dudes! Hello Loops!! If I snag these and use them as loops and build a song would, that be cool? I could send it to you guys and if I ever released I could give you credit and become a patreon supporter

7 is fire
14 too
also 42
Huge video!
What are those hi hats!?!?! They would pair nicely with my uptown ride once they don't say "prototype" any more haha.
Love those! They’re 15” prototype “Fat Hats”
@@SoundsLikeADrum If those existed in 13" or 14" (or at all lol) I would have them in the mail already. Great video today, very fun!
number 4 was the best in my opinion
This is amazing!!!! I want an mp3 to listen to help me fall asleep!!
We're probably going to release a final mixed version on Patreon
Omg #12 at 3:25 how can i get that sound? Its a mix treatment, isnt it?
So Rad!
#18 Craviottos. Best snares in the world.
#23 also
And #29
#2 Hanginaround by Counting Crows @1:58
The snare in #67 has a massive attack... OMG HORRIBLE PUN.
BRAVOO so good I will watch this over and over! where did you place the AKG414? my favorites are from 45 to 55 and so many others as well
39 was probably my favourite
I came to the comments to say the same. 39 was sooooo good.
For 45 Cody became Nate Smith really quick 🥦
Cool video. Got some weird artifacts in post production. Many of the sounds have a flaming effect. Maybe plug-in latency? Might have been fun to have a short description of the sounds or techniques for those unfamiliar with post production techniques. Keep up the good work!
a descriltion for the heavy procesed woud be awesome
I noticed that effect too, on 51 for instance. Is it intentional?
What size Is the room you're using?
Nice groove on #69.
Wow! I wish I saw this when it was first uploaded! How does 20 work?
Can i use audio from this in a record and release it? There are so many great snare hits :0
39 is so sweet! How did you do that?
Red Rock 13” Fijian Mahogany stave snare with baseball bat bearing edges and a Kentville Kangaroo hide heavy gauge drumhead tuned nice and high. All details available via the spreadsheet linked in the description.
Greatly appreciated Angel in 67, not much of a difference with the original amazing!!!
How did you get the sound on number 12? There was a Billy Squire song [Stroke's the word] that used that sound
how to get into the ballpark of 78, please? It's got such a thick cut-through attack and the right ringing
What hi hats are those prototypes?
Zildjian 15" Fat Hats. Would LOVE to see these get released some day. -Ben
Sounds Like A Drum Wow what a coincidence! I was just watching a review about this cymbals.
They sound amazing!
I have that exact black panther! As well as a new lm402. That blue and olive badge is a workhorse! Gotta ask though, is 51 stevie wonder?
Nice! We were thinking "Ophelia" by The Band for 51 but it could definitely work for some Stevie Wonder.
#12 is Billy Squier The Stroke! Ha!
#27 Come Together @5:58
