*Fu Fact* This is a National Guard Infantryman. Active duty Infantryman have way better hear, different helmets, better plate carriers, usually are aloud custom attachments on weapons, depending on unit/commanders say so.
Fun fact most national guard units allow personal gear so they can wear plate carriers and fast helmets along with any other fancy pieces of equipment they want

lmao im in the guard and we have all brand new equipment and some of the new service weapons. It all depends on the unit and state since we get funded differently from active duty.

Looks like this is national guard. In an active duty light infantry division you will see much newer gear.
In the 82nd airborne we have the IHPS Gen 1 and just got the Gen 2s (new helmet)
We have MSV Gen 2 Plate carriers (much better than the old IOTV)
We have the new dual tube night vision thermal goggles (PSQ 42/43s aka E-NVGB)
Molle 4K ruck sack.
List goes on and on. This loadout reminds me of what I had a basic training

Something about mixing OCP & UCP with a cover less ACH like is not pretty but it has that look that lowkey grew on me over the years. Like is so weird but understandable lol and isn’t the FLC is meant to work with the older IBA vests so u can take the whole thing off it once. Once in a blue moon some one wears it right back then.

I was in the 82nd mid 80s thru the 90s. Never took the sleeping pad to the field. Never wore a poncho for rain, but used it for sleeping or hiding the light from cigarettes.

It’s kind of crazy that the infantryman’s equipment hasn’t been updated in 25 years (other than the CCO/peq). It’s wild that the USMC’s grunts are now much better equipped than the Army’s.
Bro if ur active duty and deploy alot u get decked out shii....i was 10th mountain light infantry (ft drum ny) and mind u i got out in 2012...my m4 had a acog sure fire light, peq15 laser with pressure switch, and the bipod grip . Dude is prolly ng or reserve he deff aint been to combat or even deployed either lol. Im a 19d but light cav ...... all us were 11b/19d with a couple 13f too and then some missions we had the 11c (mortors) attached to us. But literally everyone even my medic had everything i did lol.

@@joehatten9171 let me fill you in on what’s going on; GWOT has been over for several years now. MOST soldiers don’t have combat patches or CIBs/CABs. It’s not the same Army as it was in 2012. BUT, they’ve got mostly the same equipment as they had in 2001. PVS-14s, PEQ-15s, CCOs/ACOGs, same FLC’s, same SAPI plates, same M-4s. The regular marine infantrymen meanwhile (not SOC marines) on the other hand have suppressed HK-416’s, LPVOs, battle belts, helmet mounted peltors, PVS-31s, and PEQ-16s.

Yeah we don't wear the FLC at all everything goes on your vest, including the MRE spoon, your NODs will be going in your canteen pouch, clipped to your vest, after basic it was all Acog on the M4

It’s weird that you say you’re an infantryman but you’re not using the TAPS or a PEQ15.
He aint no active duty or he would. Dude aint a combat vet he aint on nuttin lmao. Combat vet here i was a 19d with 10th Mountain all of us were 11b or 19d we called it cavintry lol but i earned mines and all us had deckdd out m4s surefire light peq15s with pressure switch acogs bipod grip. Mind u i got out in 2012 so can only imagine what active duty that deploys alot get. We had crew serves too m2 50 cal and mk19 40mm full auto grenade launcher. 240b and 249saw. Javalins um few asv had tow missles. One of our mraps had the LRASS on it.....half n half between mounted and dismounted. I was a 50 cal gunner on an mrap. But we had 2 MRAP and 2 ASV. Only messed with the BRADLEY in OSUT. I was in a light cav unit attached to 1/32 infantry.....the company we replaced went to my unit which was 3/71 cav 3BCT 10th MNT. Any combat would agree with me. If ur actually in a LINE PLT ur gettin good equipment

Lol that is weak. On deployments I made sure my guys carried a minimum of 10 mags on the chest rig and 7+ in assault pack.

What the hell are you showing us, US Army? Come on! It's 2024 and this video should have been an easy win. Yes, there was a time when we had to wear ACU pattered gear with OCP uniforms. It made every single US Army Soldier look eye watereringly stupid. We now have OCP pattered gear which matches our OCP pattered uniforms. You could have shown that instead. Think about it, US Army. You have a young, patriotic person just out of high school wanting to serve our country. That person sees that the other branches of the service have camo patterns that make sense. Then they see this and think, "Wow. That's eye wateringly stupid! The Army can't pick a camo pattern and stick with it, and I sure as he'll don't want to die on the battlefield looking eye wateringly stupid!" Searches for Marine Corps recruiting office
It’s actually pretty accurate. Most all of the equipment being issued is about 20 years behind the times. And they have warehouses full of this shit too. It’s right on brand for the army to screw up something this simple.
The marines will issue a H&K rifle, a VCOG, maybe a suppressor, Dual Tube nods, and their load carrying equipment is a better design too. They also didn’t spend billions of dollars on a camouflage pattern that blends in with gravel in the first place. They chose two specialized patterns that pretty much cover anywhere in the world. They will also still issue a bayonet as needed. The army issues a fucking folding shovel. I’m out now but I highly regret choosing the army. It’s not an organization fixated on killing, holding ground, and being a lethal force. The marines at least appear to be.

27th Infantry Brigade so he's either 1-69th Inf, 2-108 Inf, or 1-182 Inf out of MA

Go to ROTC in college and do it as an officer. Being an enlisted infantry in peacetime garrison is one of the absolute dumbest, no, absolute stupidest things you can do with yourself.

Aww the simple life when back in 77 when I went off to basic in the Army. All we had was our web belt , ruck sack, canteen, ammo poutages,steel pot,entrancing tool, tent half, pegs, rope for tent half, canteen cup, helmet liner, o d green fatigues. None of this fancy do dad stuff.

The army keeps putting out these videos and they could be successful but they turn out so boring. Great idea but poor execution. Low energy and just boring. I’ve been an 11b for the past 6 years and this just makes me sad to see this. If I wasn’t in the army but thinking about joining none of this makes me motivated or even think hell yeah that looks badass. It’s a national guard unit that doesn’t have the same gear as other active units, army still has mismatched camo patterns, and 20 year old equipment just looks silly. How about including footage from the field more on what an infantryman does, like CALFEXs are extremely great looking training events, there’s a lot of moving parts to it and you can get some badass footage from that, blackhawks, chinooks ,tow missiles, gun trucks, AT4s, Carl Gs, mortars, room clearing make it look fun. You can also show using the actual load out and footage of that. That’s just one example do better army you wonder why your retention is low and this is one of the many many reasons. Fire the marketing guys cuz they suck

Why would the Army showcase equipment that is OVER a decade old as standard issue, when they struggle to recruit new Soldiers. Maybe if they issued modern, POST GWOT gear, people would feel better about joining.
Lol 7 mag loadout is for POGs real infantry carry double that on your chest rig and 7+ in the assault pack.
