Short film about the Bristol signwriter Cliff Headford from an interview conducted in October 2016. Sadly in January 2017 Cliff passed away, but, as this film shows, he was still in fine form when we met him at the age of 96.
The film would not have happened without the help of Cliff's carer, Karen Gilmore, and the relationship that she and James & Katie Cooper (Dapper Signs) developed with him ahead of our visit. The filming and editing was all done by Dan Bassett, the opening animation by Lawrence Dodgson, and additional photography was from Luke Welch.
The film was first screened at the 2017 Letterheads meet in Oslo, Norway, on 25 June, and then in London at Art House Crouch End on 29 June, both times being paired with another short film, 'Everyone Back to Joby's', about the November 2016 Letterheads meet at the Carter's Steam Fair yard.
Thank you to everyone that has supported the film's production and screening. RIP Cliff.
Thanks a million for these videos. They add a soul to a craft that thankfully is regaining appreciation amongst the general public. Keep up the great work.

These are great! Just watched the Stan Wilkinson one too, I like modern techniques but it’s so important to appreciate the old ways and getting the guys who lived the life is pure gold!
