Hi! Thanks for the video. Do you know any massage method for Ptosis after an upper and lower bleph surgery? I'm on 3.5 weeks post op and I'm worried about my left eyelid won't lift and back to normal again. It is a lil bit swollen still. I would be grateful if you reply to me. Thanks!
Question is, did you have droopy eyelid repair apart from upper and lower eyelid blepharoplasty? If you did not, then your droppy eyelid(s) might just be due to prolonged swelling. If you did, then you might have an internal wound dehiscence. Go back to your surgeon, he/she would be able to address this issue. An internal wound dehiscence is often addressed with another surgery if eyelid doesn't come back up in 1-2 months.
@@plasticeyesurgery thanks for the reply. I went back to surgeon and he said that I don’t have a ptosis. He said it’s an edema due to surgery. So, I’m more calm now. To answer your question, I did not have a ptosis repair before the eyelids surgery.
Dear sir I had a question I have done a ptosis surgery in 2012 now it is almost 11 years stil iam facing the swelling issue on my upper eyelid how to rectify and make my upper eyelid active always
I am having hard time by sickness in the eyeball and headache after eyelid surgery( a lot of skin removal last year), before this surgery I was fine all the time even though I have done the ptosis surgery 2007. In short I was fine after first ptosis correction surgery and I am in pain after Skin removal eyelid surgery done last year. Do you have any idea or solution for me? Please let me know if possible. thank you.
Dear Firestone, There are several possible problems and many possible solutions. Unfortunately, it is impossible for me to make a diagnosis based the history you have posted. My first suggestion is that you consult your last surgeon. If that fails to provide satisfactory answers, then I would consult another surgeon in your area. If that also proves unfruitful, you can send us photos with your eyes open and closed and a short video of your face, so that we can assess your normal blink, and set up a teleconference. Good luck! I had ptosis repair, the surgeon called it external levator resection 17 days ago. Since surgery I wake up every morning with a painful left eye, I think I have nocturnal lagophthalmos. Will this massage technique help me so I do not need to do a revision surgery?
Thanks for asking. No, this technique is not the answer. You should discuss your situation with your surgeon. There are several reasons why you may have nocturnal lagophthalmos, and only one of them will be treated with eyelid massage.
I had ptosis repair surgery 2 weeks ago. I have started the finger massage because my eye appears to be a bit over corrected. I am worried if my eye will look equal to the other one. How long will it take with continuous massages for it to be equal?
It can take just a few days or weeks. You would notice when the eyelid is already of the same height as the other eye - then you may discontinue the massage.
hello gentlemen, I had surgery exactly 8 days ago and it appears my eyelid is slightly overcorrected and there is a tiny peak in the contour. Will massage be adequate?
Does it really work? At what time? Anyone have experience? too much skin was removed in my one eyelid and I have great hopes for this massage... please help😞
I started this massage 4 wks after surgery on an overcorrected eyelid that is peaked, resulting in a difference of 1.0-1.5mm between my eyes. How long should it take to see results? Thank you!
It varies, results may appear a couple of days or up to week/s. We see patients after 4-6 weeks to re-evaluate and we often see favorable results, by then.
Another way of doing the massage which we have tested is to grab the eyelashes (at the point of peak), pull the eyelid down, and start moving your eye up and down (while keeping the eyelid down and eye closed). If you can feel the eyelid muscle move, then you're doing it correctly.
@@plasticeyesurgery Hello! I have been doing the new massage you suggested of grabbing the eyelashes. Right where the peak is (and the offending stitch), it is now swollen and tender. Should I stop for a while and wait for the swelling to go down? Or continue? I have noticed a SLIGHT improvement - not much yet. I'm not sure how long it will take to bring down the lid .5-1.0 mm... your advice is appreciated!
@@dvv711 Sorry to hear about the swelling! This is our first time to hear such reaction. Perhaps you can take a break and return to massaging when the swelling comes down.
@@larryquinn6645 Did you have success in bringing your eyelid down? I have been trying this massage for one month, with no change. Any tips would be appreciated!
I had upper eyelid surgery almost 3 months ago. My right eye is open more than my left. I had some bleeding in my left eye post surgery (one week after) 3 seperate times. Stopped on its own. Will this massage on my right eye help it to equal my left? I don’t like how big my right eye looks. Please help😢
My doctor told me to try massaging for slight over correction and forgot to specify when to begin doing it. I am 5 Days post op. Any recommendation on timing?
Can you please provide us when is the optimal time to start the massage after the surgery ? In my case it’s obviously overcorrected
1-2 weeks - just be careful dehiscence of incision.
Can i do this after 2 months of surgery?
Yeah mate I made the 100 like !!!!!
I had ptosis surgery and my eyelid looks little bit droppy after swelling is over will the eyelid lift ?

Does this work for frontalis sling surgery as well?
No.

This massage is ideally to correct the peak, but you can try it on overcorrected eyelid.

Can I do this even if i don't have any Operations?
That's an interesting question. Doing this without surgery would be ineffective.

Can this work a few months after the operation?
Yes. The earlier you do it, the faster the eyelid will come down, but it can work even decades later.
Thank you so much. I have been worrying about it for ages 😅 👍

I had ptosis surgery and my eyelid looks little bit droppy after swelling is over will the eyelid lift ?
This massage only helps when the eyelid has peak or a hair higher.
