  • Professional skaters from around the the United States and the World came to Duluth, MN to battle each other and a massive headwind in the 2013 Northshore Inline Marathon. Ezeefit skaters Luis Carlos Mejia and Matt Walther fitted with Contour Helmet cameras documented the event as they raced from Two Harbors, MN southwest to Duluth. Both cameras were used to present a sporting event from within and with a totally revolutionary approach. The race is happening simultaneously in two video windows allowing dual perspective on each move in the race. Text overlay explains who's who and how they are effecting the race.

Remind me which Daniel? It's been nearly a decade and my memory of skaters from that long ago is pretty faded. Off the top of my head, the only Daniel coming to mind only skated indoors.

Great video-stupid skaters I have never been able to get my fellow skaters to cooperate like cyclists do. Double pace lines Everybody takes a short pull up front then peels off and comes back around. Everybody benefits But NO...Its wear the leader out, then slow down, then sprint to get the pace line back together.DUMB. Its boring to watch and energy sapping to race this way Unless you can pull the entire distance up front by yourself... please cooperate. You'll all get faster times.

Let me explain what’s happening here. There are no big teams so pretty much everyone is for themselves and everyone there can sustain a 26mph average on their own. everyone is a contender, except that there are world champion sprinters in the mix , guys who can accelerate to 38mph. So your only chance is to break away, in racing like biking the only way to do that is by attacking in hope you break away.
Also let me point out unlike biking and believe me we all train and race in bikes, skaters are expected to be good at every distance which is why sponsors only send one guy out there.
it’s hard as hell ... get off the saddle and try it,
see how you average out 👍🏼

Skating is different than cycling. Much easier to pace line on bikes . Skaters move laterally and cut a wider path. Cyclists have gears that allows them to use their power differently. Skaters attack and whittle away the competition.
