    I honestly love the instrument. Tons of fun to take to work or to see the folks and get some practicing in. Great stress reliever.

      Right?! I love this little guy for the sheer convenience, and that I fan take it wherever I go without being too much of a hassle. How's the intonation on yours? I've been having to do a lot of tweaks to get it to play right, but regardless love this little guy. Super cool looking as well, which is always a plus 😅

      @joku_bass Anytime I buy an instrument online, I always get it set up by a professional. However, on this particular instrument, I've had no trouble with the intonation.

    Thank you, hard to find online reviews of this. I’ve been thinking about it, usually play an Ibanez Mikro and the Fender mini p bass. They have great intonation, that is what makes me hesitate on this one. Helpful video 😊

      I have the squier mini p bass and it's great. I've played the Ibanez mikro, and loved it. Have a couple Ibanez bases and they always make great instruments for cheap prices.
      I need to post a follow up video, but I've seemed to solve the intonation issues with the fender uke bass.
      I just put on new flat wound strings, that were a slightly heavier gauge, but the bass itself seems to want to be tuned a full step down (D, G, C, F). At first I couldn't keep in tune, but then I just let it sit for a month and it naturally detuned a full step. Since then it hasn't gone out of tune and plays great. Love this little bass!

    Nicely done. You are an actual bass player as opposed to me. I have that exact bass and did a comparison video with a Hadean, P and J basses. The look of the back of the neck and headstock look very GuitarHero/Rockband to me, but seems solid and you seem to like it. My low E came off also. I needed to use pliers to smash the end of the string to make it fit in the space on the tuner. Fender did not completely think this through I suspect. Thus, no case for it either.

      Thanks for the comment! That's dope you did a comparison video as well! I got a follow up video coming soon, just put new flatwounds on it, but need to give it some time to settle in, as it can not stay in tune at the moment 😅. That's unfortunate that your low e broke as well, I could tell when mine arrived the strings were questionable, but I gave them a pass as it came all the way from China. But clearly some shabby materials used. Yes, the hard angle of the headstock looked a little old school for my liking, but I'm not luthier 🤣 I definitely like this bass for the ease of playability/fun factor of the small size, but honestly the intonation issues (almost a half step flat at the 12th fret) and inability to stay in tune is pretty much a no go. Feels more like a suped up kids guitar than anything I'd expect from fender. I usually keep track of which factories my guitars/basses were made in, and surprisingly this Chinese fender doesn't even come close to some of the Indonesian squiers I own. I'm a sucker for Japanese fenders and Korean squiers, but those are harder to come by. Love all the feedback I've been getting from you guys! I ordered this back in June, so couldn't find any videos or reviews, which is why Ive been posting. I knew it was a gamble, but I figured I would just give my honest take to maybe help other buyers decide if they want to take the leap, or save up for a higher quality bass. To each their own. I just bend the strings/vibrato anywhere after the 5th fret to keep it from sounding horribly out of tune 🤣🤣

      I just ordered a gig bag for it on Amazon, I'll post a video if it fits, otherwise I'm gonna return it. Once again another online gamble. It's for a baritone uke, but it should hopefully fit based on the 32" dimensions of the bag

      Next video will include proper mic set up/amplified examples!
      But agreed, been having issues with intonation pretty much anywhere past the 5th fret. Very much considering pulling them out and converting to a fretless. Ordered new strings to see if that helps. Part 2 coming soon!
      Still very fun to play though, nice neck, and very convenient for random noodling sessions 🤟 nothing like a properly tempered bass though. Pretty much have to bend/vibrato and notes up the neck or it sounds like trash

    I had one ordered. Came in with a crack at the horn. It looks like they didn't pre-drill the freaking hole and screwed in the strap button crooked.

    • @joku_bass
      @joku_bass  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the comment! I'll check out those tuners. Just got some flatwound installed, but needed some serious truss rod adjustment after. How's the intonation on yours? Mine is almost a full half step flat at the 12th fret 😔 seriously considering converting it to a mini fretless

    • @lanceforney5321
      @lanceforney5321 10 месяцев назад +1

      @@joku_bass I will let you know when I get a new one. The crack was significant enough that I was not keeping it. The shop sent mine back. The hipshot ultralights are a direct fit. I want to hear the flats on it!! I have all my P-basses strung with flats (except my mini for some odd reason)

    • @joku_bass

      @@lanceforney5321 love it! Once you go flats, you don't go back 🤣 only basses in have round wounds on these days are my two jazz juniors. One because the strings are now perfectly dead, and bass came perfect out the box
      Second one just love the bright tone it gets, and how the rounds sound with strumming. I'll definitely check out those hipshot tuners
      thanks for the recommendation! Love doing little tweaks to help justify all my basses 😅 going to post a new video with the flats on the mini uke bass. Just been letting it settle in, as it can't keep its tuning to save it's life right now 🤣

      @@joku_bass Got mine a week or so ago. It does not seem to have the intonation problem. The frets below the 12th are definitely small and the tiniest movement will be "out of tune". I let this sit for about a week and it was out of tune quite a bit. I will play it more in the next coming weeks and let you know how I feel about this. I think it is super cool regardless. Maybe not worth $300.00 haha

      @@lanceforney5321 thanks for the update! Yeah I was hoping the strings might have been the issue with the intonation, but still no luck as of yet. Might end up with a mini fretless, which I'm always down with 🤣

    • @joku_bass
      @joku_bass  10 месяцев назад

      Pretty sure it's currently around 300, but I ordered in on sale a few months back for $220. They just released so I would check eBay for any used/returned ones going up now, and you might find a deal. There are still some for sale on Amazon and sweet water, but these white ones are going fast. The sunburst models appear to be in more guitar shops right now, so if you have a guitar center or anything like that near by, definitely go try one out if you get a chance!
      Super fun to play, great neck, and overall pretty dope little bass. My main issue with mine is intonation issues as you head to the 12th fret, but could just be mine. I'm thinking of converting to a fretless so that will be a non issue 😅

      @joku_bass I wanted to do the "two birds with one stone" approach by buying the uke and case at the same time. I narrowed it down to a baritone gig bag, it seems the standard internal length for these should do the trick for the P bass ukulele. It'll be in the mail soon enough, fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Here's the Amazon link.www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PN9NL8M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 I think any gigbag that is around 32-33" should work.
