Holy cow! I’ve lived in VA my whole life and I had visited the concrete boat at Santa Cruz but I never knew that we had a concrete ship right here in the bay!

Really enjoyed this video. We have fished the pier at Kiptopeake a few times. Really enjoy that place. We so want to get out to the ships. This will be an inspiration video.

Had a Asian guy tell me how to make them but I had to trade a massive chunk of cownose to get the info I’ll share, you steam them like broccoli keep bones and everything on just get the skin off or it gets chewy

Hahaha I think that’s what I am doing wrong. I need to skin it. The skin was fatty or something making it overwhelming. In a not good way.

Hey man richmond native well actually amelia County on the appomatox river. I'm getting a kayak this year with plans to hit the james next year. Love your videos would love to see west view landing down to maidens on the kayak

Sounds like a good time! I’ve been through that area a lot with work and random stuff but haven’t made it out there to do fishing. I plan on exploring more of the river in the future on kayaks. I’ll have to see where the launches are out there. Think maidens va is a little over an hour from me.

What part of Chesapeake is it? Virginia? Anyway, the key to good ribbon fish is to clean the silver skin off of it to rid of the fishy flavor.. pan frying it over a parchment paper with a drop of oil in low heat will make the fish crispy and tasty. Use the fork to pull the top fin which should remove the bones out and same for the bottom side.

Kiptopeke State Park - Eastern shore of Virginia. If you put in at that ramp the ships are straight out….can’t miss em unless it’s foggy and at that point it’s a little too creepy to paddle out into the nothingness

Matt explained it perfectly! I have been out on the fog and for sure, creepy as hell!! Exciting but creepy :) One of my favorite spots to kayak fish with decent water conditions. I will have to try it…I need to take the skin off for sure bc the skin was fishy as hell!!!!! Most def should make it better
