I have practically grown up with this song for 50 years. I hear it rearranged like this and I think it's the best dang thing since indoor plumbing. She gives this a softer feminine telling of a pretty heart-wrenching set of lyrics. Consider a phrase like, "Maybe people only ask you how you're doing, 'cause that's easier than letting on how little they could care". Those hit like a cold bucket of ice water to the face when Jackson sings it. When she sings it, it is more mournful and sad, but no less truthful. Loved hearing this.
This song has always been one of my favorites from Jackson's classic "Late for the Sky" album. Having him add guitar and backup vocals to Sara's cover just shows how much he loves music and helping and mentoring other musicians. I believe Sara sang backup on one of Jackson's tours a few years ago, great way to circle back. Nicely done all around.
The album "Late for the Sky" changed my life. This version of the Late Show is awesome - I think Sara's voice makes this amazing song accessible to many that might not have heard it - especially women. I never thought of it as a song that should be sung by a woman - but it sounds amazing. This should be widely shared. I didn't even know it existed - I just found it accidentally. Amazing stuff.
It's been 50 years since the release of this song/album - I can't begin to count the number of times I've heard this song since the first time - and this might be the best version ever. How gracious of Jackson to "allow" Sarah to sing lead while he and Sean sing background. I am so grateful that I lived through these past decades to have been blessed to experience the amazing artistry of Jackson Browne. I hope to see him live one more time - before one of us is no longer able to be there. Thanks for the memories of a life time. Be well everyone - God Bless
Wow! Just WOW!... Jackson's lyrics given new life decades after they were written. AND, he's still there to add the the performance captured for the AGES thanks to the Internet. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
So lovely, with the harmonies. Perhaps my favorite from the original album recording by Browne. Hidden treasure! I always liked the slamming of the car door at the end of the original, heading off to the place where the road and the sky collide.
I saw The Watkins Family Hour at Largo about 3 years ago. Jackson was their guest and sat in for half the show. The Largo is so intimate that you almost feel like you are somebody's house hangin' out gor the evening. A fun night with family and friends.
Going to see them this weekend at a beautiful new venue in my hometown. I wonder if they’ll perform this one. I can only dream that Jackson might make a surprise appearance💕

What a beautiful song. This rendition of it was fabulous. Those singers really honored his song. Thanks
THE most perfectly done version of this great song ever done! And done live with JB on harmonies. MAJESTIC!

I love Sara’s voice. It made cry first thing this morning. It was a good cleansing one. “Leave it at the curb and well just roll away.”
Jackson Browne people are always so full of love and sweet happiness in the moment of the song. Thank you all.
Jackson Browne is soo talented musically ❤️
Jackson, do you realize what you’ve done? 💓 thank you. Beautifully done here.

Wow. Anything other than Wow I can't think of so
Wow. I'm completely blown away.
From one of the greatest albums of all time, absolute poet
I’ve heard Sara sing a lot of songs over the years. That may be the best!
Damn I love that woman’s voice…
I'm going to bed with a huge smile in my face and in my heart. Thank you guys for this beautiful rendition! ❤️
Don’t get tired of hearing this song sung this way by these folks. I may have to return to listen again and again.
The MAN speaks and lives TRUTH. But he was given a “helper” and she is there to let the blow be softened.
Exquisite. Heartful and human. Thank you. Maybe homo sapiens doesn't completely deserve extinction after all.
Been a Watkins fan for some time. So good, and how cool to perform with such a legend as Browne. Thank you for posting.
Not enough hearts to heart this one enough ♥♥♥

A NEW ADDITION TO MY FAVORITES......
Amazingly good. Y’all knocked it outside of the park! Only thing missing was the car door slams and motor sounds from the original.
