I just saw them 4 days ago at Merlefest.
      It's basically their home turf.
They opened with Appalachian concerto and by the end I had tears running down my cheeks.
They make some of the most beautiful music I have ever heard.
And Jens is as good as anybody ever played a banjo

RIP Late Night with David Letterman. I have great respect for him for representing musicians of many different genres on his show. It seems that he was among the few that would represent the somewhat less popular genres like bluegrass, whereas other shows seem to stick to the formula that 'works' and have the pop, hip-hop, etc. artists and that's it. This is just all around beautiful music, and I'm really happy that David Letterman featured these wonderful musicians. Bravo!

The tune is actually 'Jack of the Wood; (no 's' at the end of Wood), named after a pub in Asheville NC. I was the only non-blood-related Kruger Brothers 'family' to be present at both the sound check and the taping. So lucky am I!! I would have liked to hear more of the 3 Kruger Brothers; seems like I heard mostly clawhammer and the
strings, both of which were super, but, IMHO, the focus should have been on the award winner, Jens Kruger, and his trio with bis brother Uwe and 'brother' Joel!
