- The Millmoor Ground, commonly known as Millmoor, is a football stadium in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, England. It was the home ground of Rotherham County between 1907 and 1925, and then its successor Rotherham United until 2008
In this video i surprise life long Rotherham United fan Ian where we watched a game of football inside Millmoor football ground. His first visit back at the ground in 16 years.

We’re you sad to leave Millmoor ???
At the time yeah 😢
Yes I miss the old girl. The atmosphere was always fantastic.
I'm an Ipswich Town fan. Mum and dad went to Portman Road back in the 1930's when they were an amateur club. I have a treasured photo of my mum walking round the Millmoor pitch with the Town 'cheerleader' before a Millers' match v Ipswich in the mid 1950's. I lived in Sheffield for fifteen years during the 1980's and 90's and one of my bessie mates is a lifelong Millers fan and I have fond memories of standing with her and her crew on the Tivoli terrace. happy days. Thanks for another great vlog. Steve.
Awesome memories and that’s what I like everyone sharing memories of the ground whether it’s home or away fans
Even as a donny fan this is brilliant. Proper football ground must be class looking round. I wish belle vue was left like this.
Ye was brilliant mate I could of spent hours there haha. Great for Rotherham fans to have a look round
A great video pal!. I only went to Millmoor once when I made the trip to watch Wrexham there , we lost 3-0 but the ground/atmosphere was quality. Im gonna try to take my lads to Millmoor when Sheffield Fc ladies play there next season.
Thank you mate ye you defo need to get there it’s brilliant to have a look round
Cracking video, guy who was showing you around seems to really care about the place and its potential. As a groundhopper it really is a paradise and it has the respect of the community, nice to see someone embrace that and see its potential to a wider audience. Hope theres more to come though as I cant catch the only other Wickersley game thats coming up this weekend sadly.
There’s certainly plans for more games with even Sheffield fc ladies wanting to play there to.
Thank you for watching
Great video. Brought back some brilliant memories walking round with you. I wouldn't have mentioned the crowd chant to Jamie Oliver ! (So glad you spoke to Dan ! 😅). So typical of the Tivoli proper old school chanting ! Special to show the kids our beloved Millmoor. Thanks for coming to Rotherham!
I absolutely loved my trip it’s a ground I’ve wanted to visit and always have a peep from the outside so to see it and be inside. Wow amazing, literally blew my mind.
As a founding member of the Ian fanclub I love this video, brilliant job mate
Add me to it. Ians brilliant
Thank you so much 😊 Ian’s reaction made it that’s for sure
Well done , what a brilliant video . Any footie fan whose team has moved grounds would relate to this . I'm a Northampton Cobblers supporter man and boy...what I would give to go back to our old County Ground as it was . Great stuff mate.
Thank you so much for this so glad you enjoyed it
Just found your channel and subscribed after watching this interesting video and how nice for your friend and the others visiting. Sadly never visited Millmoor, but been to their new ground and is a decent ground for a new ground, but got to love old school retro. Like the coat you got on by the way that's cool buddy.
Hey mate thank you and welcome to the channel.
We had a cracking day checking out this stadium.
Thanks ye I love the jacket.
Anybody's pitch is better than ours Lee...lol...😂😂😂 Great to see Ian's face when the blindfold came off...like a kid in a sweet shop...😂😂😂 You haven't lost your touch Lee m8 in front of goal 😉⚽️👏🏻
What a superb video Lee m8...nostalgia value is amazing m8 with this content and it blows me away what you've put out on this video for all of us footy nuts to savour and enjoy...Well done pal 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you mate so glad I got Ian involved and surprised him because it really did make my morning seeing how happy he was. To see him find his seat to.
Thanks for watching mate can you tell I’ve missed vlogging with three videos up haha
Love that mate , if my memory remembers im pretty sure my last visit there was the day of the 911 attack in newyork i think it was a cup match.
Last year was 2008 they played there I no there played Bradford there close to last ever game there bud.
I remember going to Millmoor as a young lad as a away fan when Leicester played Rotherham a 0-2 win for the foxes a proper historic football ground
Not half mate it’s classic look and was awesome to have a look round
Superb video. Proper footy fans highlighting just what the game and memories means to people. Excellent 👌
Thank you so much was amazing to look round I didn’t no where to look.
Good early memories of going to Millmoor with Barnsley, although the away seating has to be the most uncomfortable ever. Went to a pre season friendly at the Don Valley, which was a very strange experience.
Ye and to say they spent 4 years at don valley when Millmoor could still of been used
Nice video mate , the ground still looks good, do Rotherham still play in the same town and why did they leave ,cheers mate
Thank you maté appreciate you watching. They do there new home is basically 5 min walk away and can be seen from Millmoor. I think it was a fall out and that’s why they had to play somewhere else before moving into there new home 4 years later
they were very close to promotion to the old 1st division in the 1950s - missed out on goal average........averaged over 18,000 per home game!
That’s amazing it’s a proper football ground
That was wicked thank god you got the luxury to be able to do that I'm a Swansea fan I felt gutted I was thinking of the old vetch witch is a park now but they still got the north bank turnstiles I have a drink there sometimes and remember the mad times I've had there feeling sad it's like visiting someone's grave stone but happy at the same time Swansea jack army forever
Thank you so so much it was amazing to be there n just explore that’s for sure. Appreciate you watching
Hello AC, I'm a Rotherham fan, and went to have a look at where your old ground was, when we played you last season.
I didn't realise there was some turnstiles still there.
I had a walk down to the Glamorgan Hotel on the corner, I can't remember if it was called that then, but it brought back some great memories of me and my Dad, having a drink before a match at The Vetch.
It must be almost 40 years ago. I can't recall the year, but I'm sure it was Sept 7th, my Dad's birthday.
A real treat for him, I think we lost 2-1, nowt much changes .
Actually, curiosity got the better of me, so I looked it up. 1985 in Div 3, 1-0, not 2-1
I was hoping to come when we play you in a couple of weeks, but can't make it now. It's a shame 'cos I had a great time in Swansea, last time.
This is the ground in ID where Gumbo gets hit by a dart. Roy ' chubby' Brown is the copper.
That was a brilliant watch , nice one 👍, from Kev ov Wolves
Thank you so glad you enjoyed it thanks for watching
Can’t beat nostalgia ❤
Was amazing to look round n explore
I lived in Rotherham then, Barnsley lad ......used to go derby day in with all the Rotherham fans, with my Barnsley scarf and bounce on my own 🦒
Love it, great memories of the ground then
I used to love going to Millmoor with York back in the 90s. Proper stadium, proper folk, proper atmosphere and damn good pies if I remember rightly. Away end was a decent view especially before the seats were put in.
Ye I can imagine it was a cracking atmosphere it’s a proper football ground
How long ago was this filmed? Saw my team (Exeter) get promoted out of League 2 by beating Rotherham at Don Valley Stadium. Its a shame it was there rather than Millmoor
Literally Sunday just gone this was. Amazing to see it
@@aroundthegrounds1 superb. The reason I ask how recent it was is that I heard they were storing railway carriages and vehicles there. Great to see that isnt the case
what a great video fellas thank you
Thank you :) cheers for watching
What an amazing, amazing experience mate!
An incredible morning mate, can’t stop watching videos on it and pictures. Memories
@@aroundthegrounds1 brought a smile to my face mate.
So much better than Rotherham’s new soulless stadium.
Would of loved to watch a game there that’s for sure
Brilliant video Lee 👍🏻
Thank you so much mate. Appreciate that. Was so much fun to make
Got to go and have a look have so many memories utm
Ye get your self there buddy. There’s a game Sunday. It was incredible and I’m not a Rotherham fan
I have seen 15000 in the ground v Sheffield Wednesday in the 80s
Bet that was some atmosphere
23,000 v Sheff Utd 1979
Brilliant video ......from a Spurs fan.
Thank you so much top stuff appreciate you watching
Anyone know the reason why this old ground is still standing and not succumbed to the bulldozers?
I believe it’s protected and they can’t. No defo answer but that’s what I’m led to believe
Class video
Thank you so much and thanks for watching
I'm really glad it's being used again.
Ye same it’s amazing isn’t it
Heartwarming content fella 👏🏻 As a West Ham fan who lost Upton Park i can appreciate this nostalgia 🙌🏻⚽️🏟
Thank you mate really appreciate that. Loved Upton Park watched a few games there when I lived down there. Bet you was gutted to see it go
@aroundthegrounds1 Gutted wasn't the word that last game home game when we beat Man Utd was beyond emotional 😢💔⚒️
@markharding8209 can imagine mate was a special ground Upton Park. It had character and I loved it.
Best pies ever at Rotherham.
Ahhh that’s ace, can’t beat a good footie pie
you shouldve got my goal in it was aweful
Bet it’s class playing on there mate ?
