Great video, guys! I loved the PS1 era . Back then I played some really overlooked and underrated games: Alien Resurrection, Alien Trilogy, The X-Files, Jersey Devil, Die Hard Trilogy, Xena: Warrior Princess, Mortal Kombat 4, Monsters Inc: Scare Island.

Take a shot every time the AI-generated script says "hidden gem." Then take another shot every time the AI narrator pronounces something wrong.
Also, anyone who calls the PlayStation the "Psi" has no business making gaming videos - and that's doubly true when they do it TWICE. But hey, actually playing the games and writing the script yourself isn't as easy as having an AI generate your script for you.

Another instance, when the term "underrated " is actually overused. Most of the games you're showing, were massive hits at the time of release. They were well known, popular, and sold pretty well. We all played them as kids.
Exactly. Croc might be the most egregious example. It sold more than any Tony Hawk game, how is that underrated

My thoughts exactly. I always become interested in videos like these thinking just maybe there will be something I've never heard of...and nope, always the same well known stuff. Beginning to think they're just personalized lists of games the uploaders have never heard of by this point.

The third game you showing us is Alien Trilogy, not Alien Resurrection.
I don't remember human enemies in Trilogy. Both games play roughly the same and look similar.

Alien trilogy was awesome alien resurrection was not. No one can stomach such an ass game long play for very long. He could get sued for making so many people so pissed they end up vomiting 😂

Parasite Eve 2 is sinfully underrated and a shame that still no remake was made for the next-gen PS consoles!

I think they had a problem with the author of the book the game was based on, that's why they stopped with the franchise and the last game didn't even have the title of Parasite Eve, just the 3rd Birthday. It would be amazing if there was a remake.

Blood Omen and Soul Reaver should be on any positive top list for Playstation. Those games were fantastic. A fantastic series I hope will make a return some day.
Future cop has always been my favourite game since it came out.
I've not made it thru the vid yet but I hope 'bushido Blade' is in this. The realistic physics, frustratingly complicated combat, the ability to target limbs to make them useless (if ya cut of his leg he has to hop or crawl etc). Even running around chopping bamboo was fun haha

You included carnage heart. This list is officially legit. A couple of these weren't exactly underrated like soul reaver, but that's fine. It's still really good and hasn't gotten any sequels
Would love to see the Parasite Eve series and Vagrant Stories get remakes or remasters but one is a wish while the other can actually happen if SquareEnix chose to.
I truly think both will get remasters. They mentioned about re-releasing all their back catalogue and they are clearly making it happen every year. As new remasters from them gets anounced. It's just a question of time! :-)
It would be nice to a see a remastered collection for PC and consoles. The love shown to the upcoming Tomb Raider Classic Trilogy remaster games hopefully shows that old games can be brought back to a new audience. Sadly, as is the case with the botched MGS collection, it would appear that there's a multitude of ways remasters can be botched or lazily dumped too.
They will at some point. if they are remastering the original tomb raider trilogy then all games have hope of a remaster. just hope they don’t mess it up somehow

I found front mission 3 randomly a few years ago. Honestly one of best games for ps1 give it a go it is actually a gem

Nah this is a valid criticism. It seems like the editor guy paid some dude to do the voiceover but didn’t check the contents I guess cause there are a few moments where the voiceover dude messes up. At one point he repeats the same name like 5 times for no reason? Pretty odd channel in general. Like others have said the script is probably ai generated
Great choices, especially the Colony Wars series. I used to immerse myself into those games after work with the lights off. Great memories. Another underrated game that I used to have is Treasures of the Deep

that´s not Alien Resurrection, that´s Alien Trilogy in the video.
Brave Fencer Musashi is an easy top ten from the console for me. A game you definitely missed though is Azure Dreams. Probably the most underrated unknown title of them all. Random dungeon climber, item collector, town builder, social sim wtih a monster taming feature and phenomenal music. A must-try.

Space Hulk was class
Wait, Vagrant Story does not have pre-rendered backgrounds. One of the things that make up it's unique look is the 3D polygonal rooms. Basically only thing pre-rendered in VS is the opening title intro.

I think when we say "Underrated" is it should be a game that is not that popular but enjoyable to play. Lets say for example games outside the top 100 games in terms of sales.
Funny, i can relate to this video but as a Sega Saturn owner, so many gems:
Die hard trilogy, alien trilogy, croc, space hulk, policenauts, in the hunt, etc
Some of those titles are far from underrated let alone hidden gems.
Bloodomen was so underrated, that get a whole series of sequels :D
Croc is amazing but my god the controls. Revisiting it after like 1.5 decades is love hate. Mostly love though lol

Props for Silent Bomber though, I think I've met 2 or 3 people who actually know what that is. Another underrated game is Tai'fu Wrath of the Tiger, hasn't aged well but I still like it.
Also, Hogs of War is getting a remaster for modern platforms, can't wait.
Vagrant Story is hard

Cardinal Sin is truly underrated. The game has one badass final boss. Nobody ever talks about it.

I don't think Reaver is mainstream like the other two you mentioned.
Soul Reaver is not even close to being as popular as metal gear solid of all things.
Soul reaver is actually the best game ive ever played on the ps1 that is one gem that isnt hidden

Future cop LAPD is my favrit game of ps1 i played it with my bro for hundreds of hours. Fun fackt did you know this game was to be a next instalment in Strike a series of video games created by Mike Posehn, John Patrick Manley and Tony Barnes released between 1991 and 1997 by Electronic Arts. I was big fan of series and have them all and i did not know for many years Cop LAPD was a to be a next instalment.

I feel like Parasite Eve 2 was 1 of those games that was trying too hard to mimic the popular Genre of game at the time which was Survival Horror. Squaresoft did PE1 so well... loved that game, and then Part 2 previews came out lookin like Resident Evil :(
I couldn't finish the game because of the RE influence... so now I just replay Part 1 every once in a blue moon.
there is an old japanese movie by the same name btw. also there is a part 3 on the psp by the name 'the third birthday" although that one was made an fps.

Check the prices of some of thise underrated gems and you will see that people don't underrate them at all. Underrated means good games that are cheap in the collecting world not expensive and rare games.

Fighting force originally was being developed as seeking to become the 4th entry in SEGA's streets of rage series. Croc was originally intended to be a game super Mario game where yoshi was going to be the star of the game.
When talking about Alien Resurrection you have one brief clip of the correct game then the rest of that segment your showing Alien Trilogy instead

i was with you on most of this... until you said 'the misadventures of tronne bonne' was an underrated gem. it is OVERATED TRASH. when i bought my copy it was brand new marked down to $20 form 60. and the manager came to warn me that they were not taking refunds on that game bc no one who bought it wanted to keep it and they DID NOT want it back under ANY circumstance. (gotta love gamestop) and hey in north america we all knew about it at the time and it still sold less than 30k copies. that is nothing.
