  • This is my somewhat quick review of the Nokia X30 5G. Nokia´s first somewhat decent attempt at a real smartphone in years. Does it hold up?

    You're right with complaints about Snapdragon 695. Here in 🇫🇮 Finland all reviews said the same that choosing SD695 was a huge mistake by HMD Global. It just can't cope well enough with games and especially not good enough with that 50mp OIS flagship grade sensor by Samsung (same sensor is used earlier on Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 Plus) especially on videos which were a huge letdown for reviewers as SD695 doesn't support 4K video recording. Many complaints also about a mono speaker of very low quality. By the way I feel that Snapdragon 695 has become the most hated Snapdragon chip ever for it's disappointing low performance and that there's no 4K video support. Just think if they had chosen Snapdragon 778g (or 7 Gen 1) for X30 and decent stereo speakers? That would have been so much better! As of now Nokia X30 has largely been forgotten here in Finland and considered a missed opportunity, which is a shame really.

      Hi! Thanks for the great input! The phone actually got a new system update lately making the OS experience a little bit smoother when it comes to animations etc. However the camera still performs underwhelming when recording video. I can personally see somewhat past the lack of 4K recording, however not the occasional lag in normal 60 fps 1080p. Thx again for the input and thoughts! // Chris

      @@GetThereFasteris it still worth to get X30?

    • @GetThereFaster
      @GetThereFaster  3 месяца назад

      @@silentreader77 Well, the competition is really tough. If you can find it on sale and really want a Nokia, sure. However I would also advice to take a look at similarly priced phones released end of last year and this year since a lot has happened since the X30 was released. Even though a successor also probably should have been release by now, no news about such a phone has been announced. // Chris

      If I had to choose between Nokia x30 and Xiaomi 11T
      Which one should I choose?
      Taking into consideration that in my country there is almost no customer service for Nokia devices and accessories are rare
      While the Xiaomi is used for 2 years yet in almost perfect condition

      @@mostafaaysser4276 Hi! Then I would probably go with the Xiaomi :-) Support is always good to have in case something does go wrong. The Snapdragon 888 on the 11T is also still pretty decent in terms of performance :-) // Chris

    For still shots how does it's cameras fair ? Compared to Samsung A54 or nothing phone

    • @GetThereFaster
      @GetThereFaster  Год назад +1

      Hi! For still shots I`d say the main lens performs fine for the price tag. I haven´t tried the A54 nor the Nothing (1) however looking at photos from those online and comparing I´d say the quality is at least similar between the three phones. The wide-angle lens is in my opinion though more of a complement to the main one, rather than something to use for daily photography. Mainly since the quality is, even though not bad, not nearly as good as the main lens. // Chris

      Do you mean it´s down from 450€? Otherwise 450€ is the normal retail price from Nokia right now (even though the initial listing price at release was somewhat higher). // Chris

      I would agree. Would the internals been a tad snappier the price tag would have been justified. But right now it´s a little high for what you get. // Chris
