Amazon is a disaster, when you factor in everything including returns their actual cost is 50% not including goods. I have the monthly breakdowns to prove it. Plus when things go wrong they can go very wrong. I have PTSD from trying to keep Amazon going until finally they wound up keeping 40K of my money because my supplier doesn't have invoices. I sold on them for over 10 years and rules changed faster than our supply line's way of doing business. Never again, for my sanity I'm going solo with a new brand, my own website and product. A passion project that probably won't work but I'm going to do it anyway.
Thanks for the video. Can you please comment on how the Temu launch in US is changing the landscape? How can an ecommerce website compete against Temu/PDD with insane prices and short free shipping times?
Your channel is refreshing and your information is on point. Do you have videos on platforms to sell specific items. For instance where can I sell books. I would love to get help in that area. Thanks 🙏🏾
Great Last Minute Disicion ( when choosing the platform needed to sell on!!! Which one would you choose, just to know your advise from your years of knowledge about platforms and sales approach? It would make me start faster than hesitating all the time...Thanks
Ty 🙏🏽 i will look through your playlist, im ready to go either way but more interested in FBA. My major concern and misunderstanding is getting the products to Amazon. I initially thought you buy and have items shipped to the warehouse. Now i understand, each itmlem has to 'SKUd' before going to the warehouse and orior to selling so its not as easy as buy and ship. I know you can use a service for that part but do you have any more info in this? Point me in the right direction please. TY
Hey Steve 👋, what do you mean by Amazon can integrate with my shopify??, are you talking about Amazon seo will somehow give you free store recognition so people can find your shopify store??, I know you are going to be discussing Amazon this Thursday so definitely like to know how to use Amazon as a free way to get customers to my store. Umm never mind steve I just went through your video again and I understand what you're talking about now, LOL!, you're saying when I list my shopify store products simultaneously with my products I'm selling on Amazon it will be listed free, got it 👍
My concern is competition! How do you launch one product you specialize in that once its out there on Amazon (or in general).. its seen by competitors with million dollar budgets and their own factories that can out price you and copy your product!
Competition is fierce for both platform. Smart move is to launch one product with 2 variations and test them at first. Just like people do in shopify dropshipping model. You are wrong, Most Sellers on Amazon are normal people with limited budget. I literally work with FBA sellers who have $600-$1500 monthly budget. He explained that you already have massive amount of traffic, you'll get expose quickly. All you need to find a good niche, do some extra product development and start selling instantly.
It's tricky when a customer can check out your item and then immediately have competitors recommended to them as they're viewing your listing. Shopify seems ideal for that reason. Just curious, is your free course updated regularly or do you save that for your paid course?
I’m currently selling on Etsy and am about to open my own Big Commerce shop integrated with my website. I’m worried about tracking sales tax. Do you have a recommendation on a good sales tax tracker?

You need high margins in order to profit on Amazon. I recommend at least 60%
Man, that sounds rough. I noticed the same thing too. Sold a $200 book the other day and saw that they were charging me $50 lol...
@@JohnSmith-bs9ym yeah man thats 25% not the 15% that Steve and others claim!, I don't know I it's FBA fees on top commissions!?
@@brianhenson6141 I'm really confused too. Their price break down isn't that clear.
@@JohnSmith-bs9ym yes you should either get ahold of Amazon (good luck at that by the way) or carefully read their seller fees info
Great info! Thank you!!
Thank You. 1st Trial. Was pretty easy to follow through!

I think ideal is to do both and concentrate on which one suits you more.

why not just use both?
You can, I’m going to. I currently sell on Amazon and I’m going to transition to Shopify but keep Amazon as the fulfillment service.

@@MuzamilCopy Again, if Im savy and know how to source or manufacture.. If I spot a product that can be copied...
There's always competition and mostly Chinese sellers so no getting around it. Amazon themselves allow and welcome the factories to sell.

I try to make the free course material evergreen but it gets updated when something has drastically changed. The paid material is always up to date
great video but please let say if i live in germany exapul can i still do amazon fba?

What kind of products do you sell? and why BigCommerce?
Etsy automatically collects and pays the sales tax for you now automatically!
@@sasha69Xurgelash Yes, but I will start selling on my own website, and I’ll have to track nexus across both platforms.
@@redstwok1123 because big commerce is slightly cheaper than shopify.
