    I fished Aust last week and the morning tide just made the top of the bank. I thought I would fish the evening tide thinking , 🤔it was a bigger tide and would come over the top of the bank 🤔 but hey how much difference could there be. Set up further back but I could see the tide was going to reach me so I started moving my kit back , in the time it took me to walk from the rod rest 20mtrs back to drop off my gear and back to pick up more the tide was past me and getting my kit wet on what was dry land. 3 times I moved my gear increasing how far back I went each time and still couldn’t keep pace with the tide with welly’s full of water I ended up halfway across the field. I knew I had an escape route 👍 I knew it was a big tide 👍 but at a different mark I would have lost some of my kit or worse . Unbelievably fast tides 😳

      Mate be carefull on them big tides ive nearly come a cropper a few times mate

    • @shaunjones6049
      @shaunjones6049 Месяц назад +1

      Yes a valuable lesson learned for me, the difference from the morning tide to the evening tide was a real eye opener.
      Flat water and the sea looked passive, but at the top of tide it just seemed to keep rising , and I could really see how easy it would be to get in to a life threatening situation on the wrong mark. For those haven’t seen it, you can’t imagine how dangerous it can be. Thought I would share this incident with your viewers , all ways make sure you have an escape route .

    • @SOMERSETBEACHFISHINGtony
      @SOMERSETBEACHFISHINGtony  Месяц назад +1

      Hi mate, yeah 13ft fireblades but not the glass tip version. As you see they will handle anything 👍

      @letmikesmash5690 Месяц назад +1

      @@SOMERSETBEACHFISHINGtony they are lovely rods for the price, I've just picked up a pair of 14ft non glass tip, loads of people seem to complain about bite sensitivity online which has made me think should I have got the gt model. I'll be using them with fixed spools with braid anyway and wont be down chesil fishing for bream lol

      @@letmikesmash5690 lol mate the ones complaining about bite detection are the ones that cant catch fish, bite detection on the fireblades are fantastic mate in my opinion anyway but then i dont go for pin whiting etc lol.
