    Want! Need! Must have! So unusual! Ive been buying and testing all sorts of antennas lately, and reading books old and new, and havnt seen anything remotely like this!

    I just learned about antennas and I bought a parabolic antenna, now I'm starting to make my own because I've become interested in the last antenna. I watched your video. I really like all your videos.👍

      Hello what kind of elements are going to use with parabolic reflector ?? If it is LTE it should support MIMO also . I am also looking for DIY idea for parabolic feeder.

    Nice video.
    what I noticed is that the fiberglass shell makes quite a difference in the frequency response, so they might be pretty similar when assembled.
    Another interesting point is that they used 35 and 75 ohm coax to build transmission line transformers for matching.
    (the orange and purple coax are 35 ohm if I recall correctly)
    So I guess the impedance of the elements might be around 70 ohm since it would be pretty easy to transform from 50 to 70 ohm with 35 ohm coax.

    hello master this antenna is very popular in my country, this antenna is widely made and modified into a parabolic antenna that catches 4G LTE signals on the 1800, 2100, 2300 mhz frequencies

    Always enjoyable to watch. I’d guess you are looking at an antenna for 3G UMTS (WCDMA) band 1, smaller one possibly additional bandwidth to combine GSM 1800. Don’t see the combiner much any more, usually each dipole is driven from a different TX path for MIMO purposes.

    Those larger square loops are actually the resisting elements. Not reflectors or ground. The small antenna elements are actually used to 'capacitivly' couple the signal to the elements across the slot in the sides. You see this often on Vivaldi antennas. This style of feed gives the designer a few more degrees of freedom to make get the best impedance match. I suspect these are circularly polarised with a 90degree hybrid in the feed somewhere.

    • @scienteer3562

      @@andrewmcneil looking more closely at that combiner, it's just a basic tee split, so nothing to create CP in there. The split feed might just be there to act as a form of balun.

    • @szmery2985
      @szmery2985 Год назад

      It is not a circularly polarised antenna. It is a antenna with linear polarization fed from two separate sources, -45° and +45° for a "MIMO" . Cross Dipole

      This could be an idea for a new video series. Andrew can call it "will it radiate?" The idea would be to hook up random metal objects to see what kind of frequency response they give!

    Hello sir.. i want to ask something about this katherine antenna. I have a big one and the small part, i want to build 4g lte antenna, i confuse to joint all the cable. On the big one have 4 cable (@1 cable have core and ground), on the small part have 2 cable. My big question: how to build 1 antena but use both of my antenna katherine part?
