most of the automatic AR's outmatch other gun classes with a few situational exceptions (over-under (double barrel), your choice of one-shot sniper). Some SMG's aren't bad but they feel the worst they've been in years because map design + gun balance seems to favor ARs

You can use the elevator in one of the ground war maps to avoid most of the stairs
Tanner I love using that to get up into an open window that overlooks the B flag and the opposite building everyone loves to post up on. You have to slowly creep your way out onto the window sill, but you can easily rid the rooftop of all the snipers

The multiplayer is pretty good in terms of gun play, speed, kill streaks, weapon, with the exception of the maps, they need to put out a free map DLC that adds some not shit maps ASAP
The gun customization is the best of any CoD ever. The ability to completely change your gun to suit different roles is sweet and reminded me of metro exodus, although most of the weapon upgrades are the same basically stat boost I like how they charge the feel of the gun, I like how some guns haven’t different caliber options, even the basic m4 can be changed into a 9mm smg or 458 battle rifle. the only thing I was disappointed by was the lack of caliber options for the handguns the desert eagle should have had a 44mag ammo option the 1911 should have had a 10mm option and the flock should have had a .40 s&w option
The campaign was the best one since BO2 hands down i love how it wasn’t overplayed and stayed realistic (until the last mission) the story was good I like the morally grey tone of the proxy war where the good guys do bad things and the bad guys fight for a just cause
You don’t feel like a war hero you feel like a professional doing a job the one thing I didn’t like was the evil Russians narrative it felt out of place in the story and a little cliche
All in all it’s a 9/10 for me

The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. @@sirjoey3137 it's not so much just about rushing. All we asked for was a balance between being able to rush and play slow. Like cod 4 and mw2. The maps in this game punish you for rushing. I played the beta and seen tons of gameplay and everyone fucking camps. You'd be a fool to deny that, everyone is aware of it.
I think they made the maps that way intentionally to make it more of a realistic experience. Being that everything else has become more detail oriented and realistic in the game anyway. With that being said, I think the makers want you to communicate with your teammates, plan as a team in what direction you will move, and eliminate the enemy. Just like in real life. Instead of sprinting into hell fire, guns blazing, only to eventually die, respawn, and do it again.

I feel like I'm the only one who thinks the map designs are fine and camping isn't an issue. There are definitely some spawning and net code issues though.

I was floored with how good this game was. It actually single handedly got me into the Call of Duty franchise. Like not the multi player, because i know I will suck ass at it. But I do enjoy the games somewhat and now own, easily, like a dozen of them
My only complaint with this game is the convoluted way to download it from the disc
Looking back at this review in 07/2020 and it's kinda spooky how spot on Charlie was for not just launch, but the lifetime trend of the multiplayer

Ground War is still pretty ass in my opinion except for the farm map and Promenade. All the other modes are pretty good, spec ops is trash, and warzone is good. I'd give it maybe an 80% on the moist meter.

Multiplayer is much better than a 4. People are just sad they can’t fly around the map killing everyone like in bo4 with 3 lane maps that you can circle around. I think it’s a nice change that you actually have to think about where you go and what you do instead of running around the map without any objective over and over again.

Map design isn't the problem. They added in older maps that were good in other games and it still plays like shit. They built the entire game around camping and punishing movement. Op claymores and mines, loud footsteps you can hear from a mile away, combined with melt machine guns. It's a campers paradise. It's not about who is the best skilled anymore, it's about who has the most patience to sit in their corner with 2 claymores and a 725 m4 overkill class.
Nah it's basically just sweats mad that they can't corner jump 360 dropshot slide jump quickscope everybody anymore. They said from the beginning they were making it slower paced and more realistic. But everyone ignored it and instead of admitting it, they just get mad that the game isn't what they wanted even though it's exactly what it was advertised as.
@@ryanbrown4053 they literally stated that they wanted to give new players a safe space so that they can feel like they're doing good. They built the maps to cater to camping noobs, and now the majority of every lobby just sits in camping spots and waits for someone else to move. Back in the day it was about skill, if you weren't good, well sucks to suck get good kid. Now the best plsy9 is decided by who has the most patience to sit in their corner the longest. It's absolute trash, and if you enjoy it, that probably means you're one of the people who needs to camp to be good.

The maps, atleast the regular ones. Aren't "BAD", they just aren't what most people think of when they think of Call of Duty.
They spent to much time trying to change the game (for the better in my opinion) that theyre basically alienating their original player base.
I don't do half bad in most games because I'm used to open map design from playing Battle Field, insurgency and other more "hardcore" shooters.
I honestly think these are the best maps I've ever played in COD. They're complex and designed in such a realistic way. I do agree that the maps are annoying because of all the angles that you can get shot from, but I actually enjoy that because it shows you the perspective of being a real life soldier. With that kind of perspective, you'll realize how scary modern warfare can really be.
But again, CoD players almost never accept new thangs man
You know what's amazing. That these maps went through everyone in the entire company from the bottom to the top and was approved I want you to think of that when playing these maps. They were designed. Tested. Approved and not one person said, hang on, these are kind of shitty and go against cods persona

I’m completely fine with this game and the map design. They clearly went for a more realistic approach to these maps and I enjoy it as opposed to black ops where there’s just like 4-5 huge fucking windows on the maps, and 3 lanes. It gets boring quick so I’m happy they changed it. I haven’t played ground war but for me personally; I enjoy this game a lot. To each his own though, I hated bo3 and b04 with a passion.
The map design thing was intentional. They wanted to slow down gameplay, and make more realistic feeling maps

yeah, I really don't get his complaints, in real war, you WILL be shot from every possible window. you had the same shit in older CoD maps, so why is he complaining now?

@@yosefyonin6824 In a real war I can't keep running after being shot in the leg, yet you can in Call of Duty. You can strike a balance of realism and fun. If people are not satisfied with the maps, but that's fine because they're more "realistic" that's a problem

The cutscenes are choppy, not bc they look so great but bc the next map is loading on the background so you dont have to wait on a loading screen
I understand the frustration with most games naming it the same as the first in the series, I feel like they attempt to name it the first title in the series to either use the nostalgia factor or to tell them their games are returning to it's roots.

I found myself laughing as they started name dropping characters in the final cutscene of the story mode because there’s a possibility that there’s gonna be a Modern Warfare 2, 2.
Luke Hynes oh it’s gonna happen they won’t just not do it especially when the name of Modern Warfare 2 will instantly sell copies. I just can’t fathom how I’m gonna have multiple call of duty’s with the same name on a shelf next to each other because I have a feeling black ops 5 is just gonna be called black ops.

Came home from work at 4 and finished the game at 11:30 on Realistic difficulty. Worth it.
The maps are much better than any of the recent cod's
These new maps give it verticality and more routes to go than the regular 3 lane maps.
But I can see how this encourages camping and can get frustrating but that minuscule on how much they improved.
I personally enjoy these new maps.

Funny you mention the re-uses of titles in recent years at the beginning, as i had just watched the trailer for THE GRUDGE "all caps" before this vid, lol. I agree, it actually upsets me how silly the naming conventions are. It's just confusing and f**king stupid.
I would personally give it a 45%, it's just too repetative imo.
