Hello Jim. All my recipes are a foundation of what each individual desires. Sausage or beef, soup or thick gravy. Anyone who has the ability of thought can adjust the recipe to their wants. Thanks for your comment, and I hope you enjoy the recipe.

Would heavy whipping cream work just as well as whole milk?

That is a possibility, but you may have to remove the flour or the thickness may be too much.
