      In all seriousness, I think I'd rather a fire be in the back if I'm driving down the road. In reality, we drive, eat, and sleep on top of fuel tanks, propane tanks, etc. so it is what it is. Hopefully none of us ever have to bail out of the emergency window in the middle of the night. In 40 years of RVing, I've never heard of or seen a single fire in a campground outside the fire ring.

    I've noticed, over the last years or so, how popular these Super C class rigs are becoming. I appreciate how many manufacturers have to keep their line up fresh and intuitive & I can see how these rigs would appeal to a younger audience. As John says, having that A class feel in a C class that's built on a truck chassis giving that high end quality on a mid range...
    I can also see how these truck based C class rigs with that style could be used for hauling toys in a box towed on the back would be more appealing than actually 'giving' up living space inside the rig to be used as a toy hauler

    • @RVgeeks

  • @novaphonix8284
    @novaphonix8284 5 лет назад +2

    The truck's construction and design is beautiful, I love the use of blues for the exterior paint design. I herad class C are better, because the engine is in the front (which cuts down on possible fires caused by overheating of the engine). I would love this design on a class A, but I sure Newmar has a design to fit customer's needs. I heard Newmar was the best RV on the road, and they hold their value. I just have to save for another 8 years or is 12!!! I hope this ends up under my Christmas tree!!

    For my lifestyle and work, towing capacity is the top luxury. I had to shop a very long time to find a class A with 15k towing ( look for the spartan chassis). It was amazing how much more I needed just to tow a tacoma pickup with a 1000 pound drift boat wedged into the top of a utility trailer. The truck and boat run around 5500 pounds, but the problem is the trailer goes another 5k to 5500. It was a long way to go in order to include a fancy "row boat" in my collection. That additional 5K of this super C opens the floodgates of toys! On the other hand, I am now a mobile outdoor recreation mecca.

  • @MililaniJag
    @MililaniJag 5 лет назад +6

    Great vid...as always!! Hope they offer a bed option vs the fancy skylight over the cab. Thx!

  • @deanh7190
    @deanh7190 5 лет назад

    "Shower Miser" is a must have for boondocking. The air ride cab is also very nice as well as that additional rear storage (that spot for an 8' table has me already thinking of installing a slide out 'Joey bed' type of tray that will also serve as an extendable work bench).
    Specs not up on Newmar's site yet so we are anxiously awaiting those #'s. I looked at the rest of their line and the largest fresh water tank they install is 105 gallons. The Renegade Super 'C' utilizes a 150 gal tank (w/75 blk & 75 gry) so we are hopeful that Newmar will realize that a lot of Super C owners want these units for towing but also for boondocking with whatever toys they have towed. The more capacity the better as you guys know well.
    Nice tour ~ thank you.

    Great video and the 1st I have seen showing this RV. I normally am not a fan of Super C's because of a bad back. Getting from the front seat to the back usually requires bending and doing the same thing in a Class A is so much better. Also the above cab area is usually a wasted space. Not sure if Newmar feels this type of RV is a growing segment? In my opinion they should invest in a few smaller models. Tiffin figured this out and now a market leader. I would think the Super C market is considerably smaller than the under 32 foot RV market which is where the demand is these days.

Needs to be sold at more than the 2 limited dealerships nationwide, and here is why. Our Newmar dealer will not service anything that did not come from their store. So WHO is going to service it? Am I supposed to drive it all the way across the country for regular service? What if the service issue is I can't drive it" ??? Then what. Pro's, It's a Newmar, its well built, its a beast, It is a great design and an alternative with Newmar from the Class A limitation.

    Great review of a great looking rig-except those window treatments lol. The cabinets and counters are actually not too old fashioned looking compared to many I've seen. But those windows...Anyway, I was wondering if you'd have any concerns about the integrity of the membrane that separates the cab from the rest of the house? It's great to have an air ride cab, but I wonder if that membrane is going to be a potential point of failure after going down the road for a few years. What do you think?

      @@RVgeeks , thanks for your quick reply. Just looking at that front of it, it's either an Atwood or a suburban model base model but for this price range it needs either a top of the line furrion unit or an induction cooktop unit like their competitors have. Hey guys last time I saw you was going over the Panama Canal with our lovely friends ( gone with the Wynn’s) we’re watching you on the tv with this video. Had to come to the phone to comment. We are selling everything and going full time. We like the super c Newmar. The only thing is it’s 37 ft. We boondock a lot .
    We really want one, but we probably buy a used low wear Newmar. I been checking Tiffin and Newmar the only two rigs I will consider. No one comes close to Newmar on insulation.
    It’s nice to meet you Life with Ken and Jane.

    • @LifewithKenandJane
      @LifewithKenandJane 5 лет назад

      I agree. I think Tiffin has changed and I am gun shy. We bought a new Jayco c class to just have fun in. Not fun!
      It caught on fire 2 nd day. Bad wiring on generator. Then the slide totally broke. ( seriously) they did not put rollers on it. Everything on the wall fell off. The handles on the drawers came off. This is the first month. Jayco said to bad we were not closer to them , they would fix it. I know they thought I exaggerated the problems till they saw it, I asked for what I paid for a new rv. They said no. I ended up coming back to AZ. 2 1/2 months later they had fixed it. They would not stand up to their guarantee. Thor had bought them. ( no wonder) any way. I am scared as hell to buy another POS.
      I think your totally on spot with Newmar. We did videos on both Tiffin and Newmar. Tiffin is good, but that little voice in my head says Newmar. So looking for a 34 ft diesel. Thought of a gas. Nope it needs to be diesel. We are planning on REALLY living in it for 10 years.
      Sorry this is to long...., thank you for you response.
      One more thing..... did you have a nervous breakdown trying to get rid of stuff. Lol 😂

      How horrible what you went through! Sorry to hear. We're with you on Newmar. It's just our opinion (but based on more than just our own personal experience)... but we wouldn't want anything else right now. If you're planning to full-time in the same rig for 10 years (we're now happily 14 years in our '05 Mountain Aire), we'd suggest looking at the New Aire (if it's in your price range). The length is exactly what you're looking for. If that's more than you were looking to spend, there are other models at the same length down the model line-up - the Ventana.

    The shower miser circulates water back to the fresh water tank? So does that mean if you are boon docking and trying to save water you're putting hot water into your fresh water tank?

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  5 лет назад +3

      While it does circulate water back to the fresh tank, you only run it until the water is warm at the shower, which a blue light comes on to indicate. Then you flip the valve back to the normal operating position, and begin showering with hot water right there at the shower head. The only water that goes back into the fresh tank is the “pre-hot“ water that you ran up. It saves because water that went back to the fresh tank can now be used normally, instead of being wasted.

    • @chartle1
      @chartle1 5 лет назад +1

      I've seen this feature in homes where water is relatively expensive, Boston(?), and the water heater is far away.
      But you are basically putting the cold water in the pipes from your water heater to your shower back into your tank. Water that would normally go down the drain.

    Hello, love your videos. Do you have one on driving your RV thur toll booths? I have to go thur the Kansas Turnpike Tuesday. Have a 40' class A with toad, to winnebago factory. I'am scared about entering the toll booths, and getting in the correct lane.

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Greg! We don't have a video about toll booths specifically, but I can give you some quick tips that should help. First, when it comes to spotting the correct lane, go into it expecting the far right lane to be the most likely one for large vehicles. That's not always the case, but if you start out expecting it, you'll be less likely to have to move over at the last second.... and if you do, it will be moving left, which is the side of your RV with better visibility, because you sit on the left, closer to the mirrors and window on that side. Another tip for spotting the correct lane is to slow down and look as far ahead ad possible, giving yourself the most amount of time to identify the best / most appropriate lane. And if you have a passenger with you, have them scan ahead with you, since they might spot the "large vehicle" lane before you do. When it comes to fitting through narrow lanes, enter as slowly as possible and hug the left side of the lane. Again, since you're sitting on the left side, you can bring your left mirror just inches from the side of the toll booth, and the right side will take care of itself (you know it's wide enough for your vehicle to fit, so staying very close to the left side will keep the right side from hitting. Take your time, crawling into the booth (even stopping if needed as you enter), and you'll be fine! The mirrors are your widest part, so just make sure they clear, and you're golden! Good luck, and please let us know how you make out. 😊

      You might try bringing up Google Maps for the area, then find the stick man figure in the bottom right corner of the window. Drag it to the highway a little in front of the toll booth area and it will give you a street view of what the approach looks like and you should be able to see the signs. I have not done that specifically for toll booths but do it quite frequently to get an idea of what a spot looks like ahead of time..

    Not easy to find answers about the SuperStar. Does it come with radiant heat floors? It's not an option in the "build your own" Newmar website and just not enough details out there.

    • @RVgeeks
      @RVgeeks  5 лет назад

      We hear you, @Pure Texas Lone Star... info has been a bit slow to trickle out. As far as we know (and as far as we can tell from Newmar's website), the Super Star does NOT offer radiant heated floors. It's possible that it's an unlisted option (Newmar has a bunch of those and will do customs... but sometimes limits features to certain models). It IS listed as a standard feature of the Supreme Aire, though.

    • @TXTigresa
      @TXTigresa 5 лет назад

      @@RVgeeks The Supreme Aire and the SuperStar are as far apart as a New Aire and the BayStar. The Supreme Aire is too big and too pricey for us non millionaire types. Newmar really needs to examine something in between the two models. Give me the options and charge me accordingly but at least give me the option. The New Aire held the solid number one spot on my list before the SuperStar was introduced. I would much prefer the easier driving of the Super C and engine maintenance options to the Class A but I have to have a few luxuries the SuperStar just doesn't offer. If they don't upgrade the SuperStar they will have to introduce more reasonable (shorter) floor plans for the Supreme Aire.

    Ok about this shower miser thing. Does it really send the water back to your fresh tank or back to your water heater.
    Most people don't really clean or sanitize their water heater and I've always heard drinking water out of your water heater is not the best.
    As I posted in the other thread I've seen these in homes but its a loop system that puts the cold water in the line back into the heater tank.
