Small cap index fund le tracking error jashthi. So active fund is better. Tracking error na market cap ah poruthu they need to sell some stocks and buy some other. I think you didn't understand the fundamental reason as to why one should choose index fund over active funds. There's no right or wrong. Its just the by product of self realisation of risk and return ratio. Also, in your video, you constantly were comparing an large cap to midcap and small cap. And I also see a lot of survivorship bias in the choice of fund you chose to prove your point. What if the person had chosen a fund that had underperformed in this 10 year period? What are the odds that we all will choose only the winners?
@getyourselfALife - even the great Warren buffet has suggested index funds.. Mutual funds is almost the same like individual funds ur risk involved is extremely high.. this guy is talking about the returns made in the last 3 - 5 yrs but for long run index fund is always the best maybe Mutual funds for short time and that too identifying the fund based on past year is suicidal

Wrong comparison.... 1.Nifty 50 index fund should be compared with large cap active funds. 2. Midcap 150 index fund should be compared with mid cap active funds. 3. Smallcap 250 index fund should be compared with small cap active funds... But, you have compared nifty 50 index with small cap and midcap active funds.....
@r.v.k9694, I have clearly mentioned that some people like you will say this. Please watch video. for the answer. Also Midcap 150 and Smallcap 250 index are not available 3 yrs before.
Misleading information, comparing largecap index with small cap active funds, compare with smallcap index with small cap active funds. In longterm active funds can't beat index funds in that particular passive funds
@antonytharmarajan, Brother you can take 20 or 30 years data and check if the data is not available then wait for next 20 years and check. I clearly mentioned we are not comparing the index fund with passive fund. See the returns and comment. If you are saying something please provide proof. In this video I have given all the real time data and proof to show that person invested in index fund has not generated better return than mid or small cap fund.
hi Muthu, what antony trying to say is “ur comparison of uti nifty 50 vs nippon india small cap fund” which is not apple to apple comparison. Nippon india small cap fund returns must be compared with nippon india smallcap 250 index fund returns to show the actual returns.. Moreover, nifty50 is collection of largecap so it needs to be compared with active large cap fund and not with mix of both…. @Antony - point muthu highlight here is many of us do MF investing assuming it will give above 18% returns and allocate more to nifty 50 index fund which finally ends up with avg of 13% returns.. so based on risk u choose the fund was the final comments in the video by Muthu.. Hope I understood both queries in proper way and replied..
@@duraiselvans Thanks for the comment. Also Small cap and Mid cap index are available in the last three years only so we can't compare for 10 years. Funds which I discussed in the video it is not recommendation it is just a sample good fund I have taken for comparison.

Brother, Please understand I am just trying to say don't invest only in index fund we have other options like small and mid. If someone invested in mid or small cap for last 10 or 20 yrs then return will be much higher than index fund. Just by comparing I am not going to benefit either you. We need to have better investment strategy for better returns.

Brother, Do this exercise to improve your financial knowledge, Take all the index in India check the return in past 10 to 15 yrs and you will know which is best compounding index and you will not tell Nifty 50 again. We should have the data to prove something not the assumption or theory.
@@investmentworksso is there any mutual fund which overtook nifty 50 more than 10 years. Ipo perform panra oru mutual fund might not be a performer the next year
@@investmentworks you have to compare Nifty largemidcap 250 index with mirae asset large and Midcap fund not the nifty. Comparing nifty50 returns with midcap fund is not correct both are having different risk profile.
@@jsgrrc20 Brother, There is not midcap or small cap index before 2019. We have the data of only 3 years. Moreover here I am talking a person investing only in index fund how much he will loss in long run also when you compare the risk in index fund it is same in other funds I discussed. Please watch fully you will understand better.
Hi Muthu, try to put a video on different types of investor like conservative, income based, balanced (moderate), growth, aggressive which talks about their mind set, year horizon… so that it will be easy for all type of age group to compare against risk appetite and which type of fund to chose… Nowadays i see even above 50+ years chose mid/small cap fund based on returns given and what they see in media without knowing the risk associated
Brother, please understand and I have clearly mentioned the answer in the video. I am comparing what will happen if the person invested only in index fund for longer period. That's it.
@ragetamil3741, Mutual fund and ETF are same in terms of index mutual funds vs index ETF. Flexi cap - This fund will invest in all category of mutual funds like large, mid and small. I will create separate video.
No Brother Not like this. The Real risk is not about fund / stock volatility. It's about human involving. Ofcourse Passive fund doesn't required more human and low the Risk. In other case of Active fund required more human and maxs the Risk. That is why all people recommend the Index Fund akka Passive Fund ! Cheers
I won't agree with you sorry, please verify data more than 30 years... It is difficult to find correct active fund. Please put video for lossed active funds too. Please change the thumbnail 🙏
@kishore - You’re right.. few fund houses closed or transferred to other AMC. Risk is there but before investing we should look for some named, good mgmt amc.. in simple terms for normal person i usually tell go with some bank based amc like icici, hdfc, sbi compare returns and choose one to minimize the risk and they pay 1-2% less returns for it…
What is misleading here? Please explain with proof. Please tell me index fund has given better returns than small and mid cap mutual funds in last 15 yrs. I am not recommending anything here just my investment analysis. If you have solid proof then explain in comments with data. Please don't comment by see or listening to people who preach Index fund is good for long term.

Please watch the video one more time. This is not comparison of index vs large cap fund. This is why we should not only invest in index fund. Hope this is clear.
What is misleading explain with proof don't just comment without watching fully or under the context. If you want to prove something then prove with data I have proved with data in this video. My point is if someone invested in small cap or mid cap for 15 yrs then he must have received more returns than index fund. (Provided we need to pick good mid and small caps I have also told the same thing in video) Now please prove with data that index fund has given more return than mid and small cap in 15 yrs. Bro best mid cap any one soluga for 3 years
Misleading information, comparing largecap index with small cap active funds, compare with smallcap index with small cap active funds.

Sir you are comparing Large cap Index fund against Mid and Small Cap funds. Shouldn't you ideally compare Mid and Small cap Index funds against these ?
Brother, Please understand I am just trying to say don't invest only in index fund we have other options like small and mid. If someone invested in mid or small cap for last 10 or 20 yrs then return will be much higher than index fund.
Just by comparing I am not going to benefit either you. We need to have better investment strategy for better returns.
Mid cap index150 and small cap index250 funds better option🤍🤍🤍
Well said bro, your video gave me clarity on choosing Index fund vs active funds.
Glad to hear that
Bro compare it with rolling return not with point to point return

Brother, Do this exercise to improve your financial knowledge, Take all the index in India check the return in past 10 to 15 yrs and you will know which is best compounding index and you will not tell Nifty 50 again. We should have the data to prove something not the assumption or theory.
@@investmentworksso is there any mutual fund which overtook nifty 50 more than 10 years. Ipo perform panra oru mutual fund might not be a performer the next year
Thankyou Muthu
1st view bro
thank u .
I think you are comparing with wrong benchmark index. These funds and nifty50 is not comparable.
@jsgrrc20, We are not comparing the nifty 50. We are talking about the returns in long term.

U are the only person to say not to invest in index fund
@ramkumarsurulivel8903 , Hi brother, I am not saying not to invest but don't only invest in index fund.
Hi Muthu, try to put a video on different types of investor like conservative, income based, balanced (moderate), growth, aggressive which talks about their mind set, year horizon… so that it will be easy for all type of age group to compare against risk appetite and which type of fund to chose…
Nowadays i see even above 50+ years chose mid/small cap fund based on returns given and what they see in media without knowing the risk associated
@duraiselvans, Sure I will create detailed video.

@santhoshkumar-pv1fe, I have discussed with the fund which I am investing for last 8 years.
Very good point, index fund I better than nearly 80% of the funds in the market. This video is misleading people as if index fund Is bad

2 more questions
1) mutual fund best ya illa etf best ya
2) flexi cap na enna
@ragetamil3741, Mutual fund and ETF are same in terms of index mutual funds vs index ETF.
Flexi cap - This fund will invest in all category of mutual funds like large, mid and small.
I will create separate video.
@@investmentworkshow Mutual funds and ETF's are same could u explain sir.. please don't blabber.
Cheers
Might be.
Mid information. Compare passive funds with active funds
Nice
Don't invest in midcap and small cap
I won't agree with you sorry, please verify data more than 30 years...
It is difficult to find correct active fund.
Please put video for lossed active funds too.
Please change the thumbnail 🙏
@kishorekumarn8532, No problem. Absolute fine. It is your choice and money. If want you can compare and check the decision.
@kishore - You’re right.. few fund houses closed or transferred to other AMC. Risk is there but before investing we should look for some named, good mgmt amc.. in simple terms for normal person i usually tell go with some bank based amc like icici, hdfc, sbi compare returns and choose one to minimize the risk and they pay 1-2% less returns for it…
Misleading content. Reporting this
What is misleading here? Please explain with proof. Please tell me index fund has given better returns than small and mid cap mutual funds in last 15 yrs. I am not recommending anything here just my investment analysis. If you have solid proof then explain in comments with data. Please don't comment by see or listening to people who preach Index fund is good for long term.

@s.ragavan8987 , I have told the answer in the video brother you can check. At this age you can have capability to take risk but do your own analysis and invest.
Age is not matter brother , your financial strength is matter think about it
Bro you should always look at expense ration. Don’t teach otherwise. Actively managed funds will never beat index in the long run!
Please watch the video one more time. This is not comparison of index vs large cap fund. This is why we should not only invest in index fund. Hope this is clear.
Wrong analysis. Whoever is watching this please dont follow such stupid things. AMFI should block such misleading videos
What is misleading explain with proof don't just comment without watching fully or under the context.
If you want to prove something then prove with data I have proved with data in this video.
My point is if someone invested in small cap or mid cap for 15 yrs then he must have received more returns than index fund. (Provided we need to pick good mid and small caps I have also told the same thing in video)
Now please prove with data that index fund has given more return than mid and small cap in 15 yrs. Email to startwithinvestment@gmail.com
