The cleanest drum cover. No overplaying, and getting the smallest details of the actual recording. No unnecessary fills and all just simple improvs that sounds good. And very nice recording sound. You, sir, are one good drummer.
You got nothing to explain. You are simply one of the best I've seen anywhere on you tube. Looks are NOT what drumming is about. As far as I am concerned you both sound and look amazing
In 2010 i bought mi first drum, and i was a paramore fan. Remember watching this video trying to make it, obviously, impossible. Today remembered those times and i can still say this cover is fantastic. Thank you!
I just have to say this is by far the best drum cover for " decode" on youtube or anywhere ,, im looking forward to covering this song myself this will help alot thnx to the high quality sound and picture
WHOA probably the best Decode cover on youtube and believe me I've seen A LOT, there's so much crap on youtube, seriously. I just wish you uploaded this a year ago.
omg thnks for making this and dude the fact u have little engery in this one is actually a good thing, i have no musical talent and my friend wants me to a drummer in her band so the fact that i can just focus on the drums in here is very nice. thnk you
The sound edit and mixing of your setup is just awesome man. Your control of multiple strokes using a single is so tight. How did you adjust your pedal to be so responsive?
I'm amazed by how relaxed and composed you managed to stay while playing the song. Keep up the good work. This inspired me to try and work on my control as well :)
I'm a drummer as well and I have to give you major thumbs up for the video quality, sound quality and for you personal add ins to the song. I'm subscribing to your channel dude.
Great cover.... but the cymbals are too bright - probably too small and airy for that song. I have the same issue almost, as my bigger 17-19" cymbals are all a custom regulars with a relatively slow decay and bright over tones. My aim is to get some darker bigger k's with faster decay and darker overtones, to allow the mix to breath more.
omg, back in 2014, I was searching through youtube to find Decode-Drum Cover and then I found this drum cover so I downloaded it to my computer so I can learn how to play the song. And then now, 6 years later, it's 2020, I'm searching for a drum cover of What A Beautiful Name by Hillsong Worship and I found one by your channel as well and I was like "dang this dude is so good. I need to stalk his channel and see if he's got some more good stuff" and I was so shocked that you're actually the same guy who did the Decode drum cover. I was shocked because I never thought that you're actually a worship drummer. I thought that you're just that kind of rock drummer who doesn't really care about God, but I was wrong. Man, I gotta thank you tho I learned so much from your drum covers, I learned how to play some songs from your drum covers. God bless you, man!
great job bud! the only thing i could say would be to put more feeling into it. Aaron Gillespie played for a few concerts with them. He added so much to this song with his emotions. And one more thing the 16 inch is a lil to high pitch to be used so much in the song. Try to adapt to the songs in style and sound. overall great !
Woowh!! You make evrything look so easy..! thnx alot! What mics do you use? Do you use any tom mics? How have you positioned your overheads? Alot of questions.. i hope you have time to answer..! Very nice cover man!
for how long have you been playing? your covers are just freaking awesome, and those fills are so... amazingly clean... if you know what i mean... anyway, keep up the awesome work
@Pandanobear I was looking at the projection actually...I have nothing against any other brands, I just really like my K's. I have a Paiste 18" Full Crash I can use which sounds amazing but I don't personally own it though.
i am a big fan u really have help me learned just by making videos, btw what kind of drums do use and im looking for some recording software wat do u use
heard it a million times...I'd rather not explain it but it should suffice to say that I'm somewhat blind so I'm not really the kind of person who cares what a drummer looks like. I'm a "sound" guy so I like to make things sound good. My newer vids have more "energy" so check those out
apart from a few mistakes (which is only human lol) i think that was brilliant. i know a lot of people probably ask you this but how long have you been playing drums?
Dude, sorry... Do you know where i can get/buy these paramore drumless track? .. I'd like to learn some cover too because i like paramore so bad... Please reply :)
hey man, sorry for disturbing you more with audio interface thing, but do you connect your mics to interface? or do you have connected them like mics->mixer->interface->computer? thank you!
hey man love the vid, sounded killer. Was just wondering if you could tell me how you get the drum music for it, do you just listen to it and write it down? thanks
Did you take drum lessons? Youre honestly the best one and simplest drummer on youtube and I really admire you for that. I am auditioning for my worship group as a drummer. Do you mind giving me some tips?
@stuffiopro I just plug directly to the interface through XLR...the interface has built in pre-amps. I could use a mixer with better pre-amps and go out to the 1/4 inch inputs in the interface, but I really don't see the point for these videos
how do you tune your drums in terms of top high or top low & bottom high or low? they sound super good. they look a little squishy haha, not really that much tension, but might just be the head
@Jonbo62 those heads are extremely old but yes they are tuned pretty loose....to tell you the truth, I haven't tuned the toms in like 6 months...I'm waiting to change the heads out lol
I love this song and just started doing youtube searches on it.. stumbled on your video.. Holy hell, man, you slay on those drums. Seriously legally blind?? Maybe that's your secret for amazing timing and feel!! So, from one musician to another, well done. You play right in the pocket at such a steady clip.. it's very impressive. And you nailed this song. That triplette fill @ 1:27 is sick, by the way.**This video should play whenever you click another person's rendition of this cover..
Very nice cover mate! love it, but in what order is the fill at 0:48 ? its buggin me as frickin hell, i get snare, snare but then what? xD Please respond! :)
@chrsharvick29 My old drum teacher Jess used them for 5 years (Projections 19in. & 20in.) till I bought an AAX-ploshion and he switched. They really sound great. The Projections from my experience seem to sound good in the studio, but not live. That is a problem in my eyes. Or you could rule them both out and get an Mb10. Lol. I'm working hard to convert my kit to mostly Meinl. I can't give up my AAX though. I love it.
@NinjaGuitarKid I know it sounds weird, but I don't head bang to anything, even if I try I fail, my emotion when playing is playing...can't help it. I just play different than about any drummer I know.
@Pandanobear haha, I'm probably getting a few larger cymbals later, I'm not really set up for rock lol. I'm really a church drummer and these sound perfect for that style
@chrsharvick29 man your lucky and have a great set of heads. they sound just awesome. i wish mine sounded like that. great job, just finished watching it actually haha. deffinitly a great cover man
@real1acer let me put this as simple as I can, I really don't care...I know how to play with good technique but I'm tired of people criticizing how I play. It's either "not enough energy", "bad technique", or "you look bored". The simple fact is I'm just enjoying making videos and having fun posting stuff that people like. I've been playing drums 21 years now, never taken a lesson and the minute it becomes boring/not fun, I'll quit. Sorry for venting on your comment :)
The cleanest drum cover. No overplaying, and getting the smallest details of the actual recording. No unnecessary fills and all just simple improvs that sounds good. And very nice recording sound.
You, sir, are one good drummer.
Damn. Envy of his talent. Probably the quietest drum set I've ever seen.
Kk
The OG Decode drum cover! The best one for my opinion
You got nothing to explain. You are simply one of the best I've seen anywhere on you tube. Looks are NOT what drumming is about. As far as I am concerned you both sound and look amazing
your everything sounds perfect, and that skills make everything look way too easy *w* love you.
dude that bass doe 💜 sounds amazing.
Dude you straight CRUSHED THAT.. GREAT JOB..
To make myself feel old I just found out this great cover was posted back in my high school sophomore year
I always love it when I see you playing drums, just looks like it takes nothing to play but it does, a big +!
Paramore is AMAZING, You make them that little more Amazing for me. GreatJob!
In 2010 i bought mi first drum, and i was a paramore fan. Remember watching this video trying to make it, obviously, impossible. Today remembered those times and i can still say this cover is fantastic. Thank you!
He's great at listening... look at all the details he's accounted for in the fills and beats. You rock!
I just have to say this is by far the best drum cover for " decode" on youtube or anywhere ,, im looking forward to covering this song myself this will help alot thnx to the high quality sound and picture
Love the sound of your snare!!
WHOA probably the best Decode cover on youtube and believe me I've seen A LOT, there's so much crap on youtube, seriously. I just wish you uploaded this a year ago.

Dude that fill right at 0:49 was tight as hell. You sir are a badass.
omg thnks for making this and dude the fact u have little engery in this one is actually a good thing, i have no musical talent and my friend wants me to a drummer in her band so the fact that i can just focus on the drums in here is very nice. thnk you
I wish i have this calm and skill in every points of my life hahhaha dope dude!
Love the sound of the kit
So clean
I'm a drummer as well and I have to give you major thumbs up for the video quality, sound quality and for you personal add ins to the song. I'm subscribing to your channel dude.
ive fallen in love with the sound of that kit
Great! You do this so naturally, its beautiful.
PERFECT, AMAZING...THE SNARE SOUNDS AWESOME!!!
