Gotta love new guitar day! Would you pick up this deal for the Annual Fender Play plan which includes the free Squier Strat pack?
I've been a guitar tech for decades and worked as an authorized repair tech for multiple guitar manufacturers. I see some universal misconceptions involving tuners. These budget enclosed tuners don't 'slip' . Period.
Several factors cause a guitar to fall out of tune but the quality of the tuner is rarely one of them. Here are the problems that do cause guitars to go out of tune.
#1 strings simply are not stretched nearly enough. Each string needs over 8 lbs( 4 kilos) of tugging. To accomplish this literally grab a string at about the 12th fret and pick that 8 lb guitar up by that single string. That is 8 lbs of stretch. Few folks do this. Repeat for each string. The tuners are not slipping internally. But the ball is seating itself into the bridge and the wraps around the posts are becoming tight against each other. Also the string itself is stretching.
#2 the strings need about 3 complete wraps around the post. This forces the wraps to ' lock' the first wrap that went into the hole. That is why the post is tapered in an hourglass shape.
#3 the neck plate screws need to be very tight.
If all three of these conditions are met that guitar will stay in tune. I have taken these budget Squiers out and played 4 hour sets on them to prove this to the un- believers.
Truth is, guitar shops like selling aftermarket tuners rather than giving free lessons on how to make a guitar stay in tune.
I ended up doing this deal. I played in high-school and had my whole kit stolen. I'm 30 now and this felt like a good way to step back into it 😁😁 also why isn't anybody talking about this deal!
I don't know why nobody is talking about it! I made like 3 or 4 videos on it haha!
@TheWorshipPortal I'm waiting for your video of you playing it ☺️☺️ my kids are "gifting" me the pack for Xmas, so it's just sitting in the box ATM, lol
Haha probably in the new year tbh. Got a lot going on for Christmas. Maybe I’ll do a quick short for you tomorrow 🙂
@@TheWorshipPortal I'd love that!
Im sorry and very happy to hear that
8:38 fender has there own strings
just one question, is that strap really short, because if so, I want to know if I should get a longer.
It’s not super short but definitely shorter than a normal strap. It’s also pretty cheap. I’d recommend a Levy’s leather strap over this. Even their $20 ones
@@TheWorshipPortal thanks!
Is the fender play lessons any good? I’m 37 and always dreamed of learning to play the guitar even just basic playing. Always just seems overwhelming and confusing.
I made a video just before this one showing the first guitar they sent me and included a review of Fender Play, check it out here - ruclips.net/video/_txcLdVxYt4/видео.html
Thanks for the vid. I wonder where this guitar made? Thanks
It is crafted in china. 😁
@@lowellton_ville yep, I mentioned it in the video 🙂
Sir, No tremolo on low budget guitar is good or bad?
I believe having no tremolo on a lower priced guitar is a very good thing. The lower quality parts would just mean tuning stability issues non stop
@@TheWorshipPortal thnx sir, same thoughts
There's that Aussie humor! 😁
Haha I try sometimes 🙂
hey man do you think i should buy this as like an entry level guitar
Honestly this and its tell counterpart are solid guitars. Getting this electric pack or even jumping up to the affinity series would be a good bet 🙂
Is that guitar up for giveaway still?
Do I have a giveaway? Or is Fender still giving one away with the Fender Play subscription?
Both
I was never giving one away. And Fender.com would have info on if they’re doing it still
What’s the action like?
Out of the box it plays great. Still haven’t had to set it up 🙂
Now they’re giving away Squier Bullet telecasters. I ordered it yesterday. I don’t think it comes with anything, though. I’ll keep you posted. 😊
Edit: received my Squier Bullet Telecaster today. It came with a loose A string. I’m a complete novice to guitar, but I was able to get it restringed. I thought it strings through the back, but it strings from the bottom of the bridge. This one was crafted in China and so far, I’m enjoying it.
They started out with a terrible classical, then a pretty decent bullet strat pack, but now only a bullet? Interesting…
I can’t find the offer. Got a link?
@@TheWorshipPortal I thought of you immediately when I saw what they offered. Again it looks like it’s just the guitar, so I ordered a blackstar fly 3 and a cable just in case.
@@TheWorshipPortal I put the link up twice but it keeps getting deleted.
Dm me on Instagram. I wanna share the link thanks!
The funniest guitar stand I've ever seen
Yeah it's pretty trash. Hercules make the best low-cost stands i have used! I made a review on some last month
Your box disposal throws HAAAA 3:56 , 6:45 , 7:38 , 8:17 , 9:04 , 9:33. You should make a compilation of your unboxings
Why Didn’t You Make A Video???
I made a video on my second channel for the squier Tele I got for free from Fender Play and it shares the same conclusion for this guitar 🙂 ruclips.net/video/w1I9H8yWavw/видео.htmlsi=gsNDxuAkMPA5kVzG
@@TheWorshipPortal Thanks
But Why Don’t You Make The Strat Sound Demo Video
Still planning on it
Great first kids guitar that's it
It's an acceptable first kids, guitar. Still wouldn't be my first choice, especially for $150 retail.
@@TheWorshipPortal what would u recommend for a starter trying to get into playing rock/metal? Hoping to find a starter kit similar that includes a guitar and amp at least or if you know any relatively cheap amps if it doesn’t come in a kit. Looking to spend no more than $300ish.
Yeah you’re going to want something with humbuckers of some form for rock or metal. Epiphone have some starter packs for under and around 300 with practice amps. They won’t be amazing but should get you started!
If your giving this away can I have it ????
Who said I’m giving it away
I wasn’t making assumptions, I was just asking sorry😅
@@Sam-Solus haha all good 🙂
