Back in the day when I tamed the owl I flew up real high, dismounted, and used aspect of the fox (an old hunter ability that allowed moving while casting) and landed on the tip of the tree so I didnt fall all the way to the ground. Was a fun experience for sure.
Back in the day of Panaria; Degu, Gumi, and Hutia, were a real challenge they did a lot of damage and almost kills you with 3 attacks so you just have to be a rally good kiter and clean the arae before the tame, it could take at least five to ten minutes to do it good. Was really fun taming them. I think Pandaria was great for hunter pets, i remmember all the beast you have to search for, only looking for footprints and using a flare were you think they were while patrolling. I got all of spirit beast except for the mana sabers, i only tamed Myonix because i dont like them very much, i dont like the fact taht they are not unique skins.
There’s also a Lost Netherwolf, it can only be obtained if you have/had gara, if u want her back if you abandoned her, enter the void realm, and near the city is the lost netherwolf, same everything as Gara
Oh my God.....I was watching your guide, while waiting for Skoll to spawn. Checked the area you were in and Bam....NPC Scan scared the crap outta me finally...FINALLY after 7 years..... Skoll was there :D My lucky charm my man!
After returning to my hunter after a couple of years just thought id drop you some advice. I currently play on the Ravencrest server and I found from my past experience that these pets usually spawn around 4am UK time. Since moving to Qatar I thought id put this theory to the test. I arrived at the lodge to catch the Spirit bear around 4:10am UK time 6:10am Qatar time. He was there and I quickly got him. I quickly set off to get Loque as I thought they would be around the same respawn timer, I was wrong. I kept logging on every 15/30 mins till around 6:30am UK time 8:30 Qatar time. He was there. I quickly got him. I wish you luck in your quest to catch!
Tip that has worked taming Loque Nahak.. Patrol at the top of every hour just patrol 2 -3 times nd if he is there you shld get him. Since most people try only 1-2 spawn points. This has helped me tame him 5 times on all my hunters
If worried about 1 shooting the mobs you could go in with rez affcts on you and tame them , you can't kill them and should be able too pet them up. I haven't tried this tho, just a thought for if your lvl 120.
Thank you for your guide. I have been working thru it an noticed that I was required to do ALL of the Gara instance, not just part I or part 2 depending where I found Gara, but besides that, everything else is on spot.

The rest of this instructional video is virtually flawless sands some mispronunciations pointed out above, but those mistakes are inconsequential in the overall task of acquiring all these awesome pets.
I tamed Ankha today. I camped for days a few weeks ago.. no luck. Today I was finishing up quest line in Hyjal and flew by a few times.. panicking throwing my armor off lmao.. but I did it! These sort of feats are what the game is about!! I’m pretty sure they still do big damage bc I was going down quick. Idk though
5:40 I did get one shot by Ankha earlier today but got it on 2nd try without gear so might wanna remove just to be sure :P Took around 10 hours, glad I have two screens. Gl! :D
Finally got Ban'Thalos the green owl in Hyjal, after countless hours of waiting (and then accidentally one-shotting him the first two times I saw him. At max level I don't think you can avoid one-shotting even with a bare-knuckle punch under rez sickness. An auto shot hit him for 25x his health pool or so.) Soft Foam Sword doesn't work, because it has a long cast time. Red Rider Air Rifle doesn't work while moving, and you are going to be falling when you shoot. Apparently the respawn timer is extremely long (12-18hrs?) but switching to War Mode puts you on a different timer. I one-shot him first try today, then switched to war mode and finally got him 3 hours later. The solution that worked: (Make sure you are in BM spec, have a free slot for another pet, and have your pet dismissed. You need to be ready so someone else doesn't grab him from under your nose!) - Land on the top of the tree at 27.25, 64.25 - May take a few tries. If you fall, cast Disengage just before you crater. - Mount. (I found that the treetop was just outside of counter shot range for the owl's patrol). No need to be naked. Definitely keep your weapon equipped. - Prepare a counter-shot macro as suggested by someone else below. Counter shot will agro the target without doing damage, but you need to /stopattacking (or quickly select yourself) before you follow up with an auto-attack. - Wait for the owl to spawn. Watch TV, read a book, play on-line poker etc. with one eye on WoW. 'NPCScan' addon might help, but I found it didn't make any noise for these spirit beasts until I clicked them. Weird, because it seems to notify about rare mobs as I fly past in Gorgrond heading to Grimrail Depot. Turn your camera to the North of your waiting spot. - When the owl spawns, don't move to him - Just fly straight up 30 feet or so to be close to the same altitude using spacebar/jump while mounted. Target him. - When he comes within range, dismount and immediately use the macro to hit him with counter shot. You will fall and land on top of your tree perch (don't think about what that spike on top of the tree will do to you.) - Still on top of the tree, tame your owl. - Hearth to Oribos or wherever you like, and /cheer your new fancy pet! The macro: /cast Counter Shot /stopcasting /stopattacking

No spirit beasts in bfa as of right now. For taming ban'thalos at max level: Buy a low level gray bow off the AH. Take off all your gear Fly high where ban'thalos spawns and dismount to kill yourself. Rez with rez sickness. When he spawns, hit him with concussive shot then click your portrait to stop auto attack.

I just re subbed after 2 years and I was trying to see if spirit beasts had been removed completely with the xpac before I tried to catch something that spawns every 8 hours and it’s not even there anyway. Lol. So I thought he was saying they were removed completely. Then I was getting all kinds of mixed messages from Reddit and the internet so I went and tamed Gara and I was like well...I know there is at least one 😂

would switching back and forth between war mode/not warmode each time you check the spawn zone have any beneficial impact? i've been trying to get lightning paw for hours and he's never there
There is one problem here, but regardless I think it is a great video overall and thanks so much for making/posting it! My goal is to gather most if not all of these and you do a great job of showing/explaining how to acquire all of these but the most difficult one (Gara). I will elaborate more in a bit. I've been playing since Vanilla and have two L120's, one L113, three L90's and a few more lower level toons. I actually started out on this 15 year old kid's cracked server and played for free (believe it or not and that was a cool "iteration" of the game) prior to formally purchasing the real version. I just boosted this Huntress, (she's a level 120 Nightborne Female Huntard! I had started leveling a Male Troll Hunter a long time ago and had it up to L32 then deleted him when I boosted this 110) from my free boost for the pre-purchase of BFA & she's about to be my main. I've always loved the BM spec and it's being able to control really cool looking pets that other Huntard specs couldn't (and rightfully so if you ask me!) ...the spirit beasts in particular! That's mainly what made me choose Nightborne Hunter, as none of the other races, new Allied races or otherwise have as cool a starting pet as Nightborne do with the Manasabers!!! Anyway, after watching your video I decided to go for the most difficult pet first thinking it might take me a couple of hours. Lol! Of course that unfortunately turned out not to be the case. So obviously this being a boosted character I had to unlock Draenor (which wasn't too bad) then had to begin gathering things to craft the final Spirit Effigy to complete the first leg of the acquisition of this elusive spirit pet they call "Gara". That's where for me the problem began as a result of trying to follow your instructions regarding taming Gara. I can link two videos right now that were posted years prior to yours that pertain only to taming Gara that portray this "glitch" you refer to as just part of the process of taming Gara. I don't know why anyone that is a BM hunter would have not been able to see Gara to begin with when they first happened along this grave site and haven't read that anyone hasn't been able to see Gara initially in all the research I've now done (on forums and video comments) as a result of the trouble I had acquiring this coveted pet. As I just eluded...this is really a two part process the first leg of which, (gathering the necessary items to craft the Spirit Effigy) is more difficult or time consuming than the second (getting the Void Lantern, entering the void through the sword in the "Great Tree Valuundira" then killing Xan and ultimately taming Gara). After you complete the first leg by placing the crafted Spirit Effigy at the grave site there is a brief interlude which is just reading the lore of Mother Om'ra and her relationship with Gara as her first and most beloved pet then "The Lord of Glass" or Xan (which ever you want to call him) appears and takes Gara into the Void with him. You completely, but unintentionally mislead your viewers by assuming, and then stating this process is potentially glitched out and in your defense I've read on Blizzard's forums that people have had a LOT of trouble with this acquisition. I even read one post on Blizzard's forums where a player stated that after there second ticket was opened about their trouble (first ticket got the brush off) they finally got a GM to play their toon for about an hour to get it "unglitched" to make Gara reappear so they could complete the task of taming this bitch! I wonder if that is even true, but who knows... I really don't think it's glitched at all, but after she disappeared I thought it had glitched out on me and started trying to figure out what to do. That's where I kind of fell down the rabbit hole so to speak and spent a lot of unnecessary time trying to figure out a "glitch" that wasn't a "glitch" at all. You don't explain what to do at all after dropping the Spirit Effigy. Instead you just say, "You need to do all that stuff". I deviated from your video to try to research how to get Gara to reappear after she's taken into the void by Xan, and that's where I ultimately gave up after even destroying the berries from my bag and going back and getting them again to try to make Gara reappear. Lol! I was even about to go gather all the items again, but decided to try your solution to the "glitch" first because I can't fly in Draenor, (I took a break from the game during this Xpac and started back again in Legion) and gathering all that crap to craft the Spirit Effigy again was too time consuming. I think the reason a GM or higher has never commented on the 3 page thread of all these reported problems on Blizzard's forums is because ultimately Blizzard knows this is just people not realizing that this is two parts and you have to complete the part that you call a "solution" to the "glitch" of not seeing Gara to being with. Again, in everything I read and watched today I've never read anyone saying that Gara was never at the grave site for them to begin with. In conclusion I want to say I'm sorry for this long post. I tried to be as diplomatic about it as I could and am not trying to bash or troll you here. I just wanted to outline my experience after relying upon your video initially for acquiring this pet. It's very confusing and misleading. I also posted this to try to help anyone else who watches this and thinks any of this process as of today (almost 3 months after you posted this) is "glitched". If I had watched these two other videos that focus solely on how to tame this one pet first as opposed to yours I would have never even thought this process was glitched in the first place and subsequently would have saved a ton of time. Incidentally neither of the other two videos that I will post on my profile if anyone wants to watch them (don't want to do you that way and post them in the comments of your video) mentioned anything about this process being glitched. They just present the two leg process as the overall things you have to do to tame this pain in the ass, but very cool pet. I hope there are no hard feelings on your part Cal and you'll leave this comment up. Like I said I think the video overall is awesome and again thank you for making it. As far as I'm concerned all the rest of the spirit pets I'll tame/acquire with the help of your video will more than make up for the trouble I've had with the most difficult of these you've outlined to tame. "All's well that ends well" as the old adage goes and I hope this helps someone in their taming of this BEAST!!!
Anyone taming the porcupines after 9.0 you won't be able to walk up and do it because you need to damage it to get rid of a buff it has. Problem is even without any armor on I was one shotting it. So to avoid that you need to get rez sickness with no armor on and just hit it until the buff goes away and then you can tame it.
I followed exactly what you said to do, burned the effigy on the disturbed grave, some dead dude comes out tells you how he died, and such. Thought gara would be mine so I left, got about ten feet away and Gara fell dead and disappeared.. Not sure what I need to do to call him back.
Just boosted a hunter to 110 on Friday. And i have allways been so tempted to lvl a hunter just becouse of these pets:P And now that i got a 110 hunter i thought it would be super cool to get some of these! Yesterday i went to loque! Flew around for 3 hours and i fcking got him! And today i logged on and thinking that i could look for another one! I got to Grizzly Hills to look for Arcturis while i was eating. I was sitting there for a few min but then i had help a friend with a key. BUt when i logged back in Arcturis was standing infront of me xD talk about luck!!!
Im trying to do the quest the sanctuary must not fall but having troubles getting it? i cant find any info on it and all videos are 4+ years old and different to what hyjal is now
Are spirit beast available 2021? I tried going to the Horide side get the dinosaur looking spirit beast and holy cow! I couldnt get him to pop up. Please help if you can. I want that spirit beast really bad.
Just so people know, you must be lvl 65 BM to tame them, but as far as I can tell to get the SW and Org beasts you need to be 110 to see the feather or eggshell. Hard lesson I learned yesterday when I sat for a couple hours, saw no feather, then a Max lvl Hordie swooped in, clicked what I couldn't see, and one shot me.
Got Karoma day ago it was just pure luck i was flying there 5 min and he just pops. Now time for Loque.. and that will be long. Already got Gon. I wanna Ghostcrawler. Rest i dont care. 3 days after i log off but ive got feeling that i should do one more fly in schoolar basin and now I have Loque nahak :D Today got Ghostcrawler. :)
@@truthseeker508 I don't doubt this regarding the damage (I'm a new hunter and just acquired Gara today and have no other spirit beasts as of yet) but you definitely sacrifice some utility in BFA if you go with one of these spirit beasts because you can't change their talents. Are all Spirit Beasts not "tanks" or the "tenacity" spec? Again, I'm asking because I don't know... The other two specs for pets are "Ferocity" and "Cunning". Both of these are labeled as "damage" and Ferocity has "Primal Rage" and "Predator's Thirst" which are both utilities that not only increase damage for your but your entire party. By that logic I would say a pet that is Ferocity pets would do the most damage as a result of these very valuable single target/single party utilities. Apart from that I would concede that they all do the same damage. Cunning is clearly a little more PVP based type pet.
Lol im sure it took hours. I just tamed Ghostcrawler. Felt bad for a bloak who was out there with me for 2 days. I just happened to get out of a dungeon and did my patrol and booom he was there. Right after I tame him, he just so happend to be right behind me
@@bgizze01 I got Ghost Crawler right away. Arcturis I capped server first. Loque'nahak, and Skoll, I still haven't gotten, despite going out there for the last ten years. Terror Spinner (not a spirit beast, but a Northrend rare) took me 8 years before he finally spawned for me.
@@wikdjester961 dannnnnggg still haven't got Loque. Its a hard pet i was trying on this hunter and saw like 3 hunters per spawn point. ... I did tame him on my 3 other hunters tho. Best time i have seen and has worked for me is early morning or early during day throughout the week
Yeah. The only baseline requirements are lvl 100+ and be in BM. From there, it's pretty much an unofficial quest of sorts. There are a few guides of how to do it online, so it shouldn't be too difficult for you.
Just for reference, you need to be level 80 now (he's 82) to be able to tame him since they made level scaling a thing. Just in case anyone was wondering.
For Ban'thalos. There is a tree you can land on the pinnacle of that is just outside his flight path but in range to target. I have never had any problems with knock back kicking me out of the tree. Loque' Nahak is husband to a demigod in Zul'Drak. I imagine they got the name from the Norse God "Loki," pronounced "LOW-key." Maybe not but it was a good chance.
Five months ago so you probably already figured it out but for anyone who is also looking for this Make a macro with these commands. I used it on him and a few other pets and it works /cast Counter Shot /stopcasting /stopattacking
Loki was hell for me I would camp him for days spawns in I start taking a pissed of hunter would log in see me taking and gets mad and kills him or people who already had it would took 6 days to get him

Gara: there is actually a respawnable version at 65.18 36.69 in the shadow realm which you can tame as often as you want

I've always loved the BM spec and it's being able to control really cool looking pets that other Huntard specs couldn't (and rightfully so if you ask me!)
...the spirit beasts in particular! That's mainly what made me choose Nightborne Hunter, as none of the other races, new Allied races or otherwise have as cool a starting pet as Nightborne do with the Manasabers!!!
Anyway, after watching your video I decided to go for the most difficult pet first thinking it might take me a couple of hours. Lol! Of course that unfortunately turned out not to be the case. So obviously this being a boosted character I had to unlock Draenor (which wasn't too bad) then had to begin gathering things to craft the final Spirit Effigy to complete the first leg of the acquisition of this elusive spirit pet they call "Gara". That's where for me the problem began as a result of trying to follow your instructions regarding taming Gara. I can link two videos right now that were posted years prior to yours that pertain only to taming Gara that portray this "glitch" you refer to as just part of the process of taming Gara. I don't know why anyone that is a BM hunter would have not been able to see Gara to begin with when they first happened along this grave site and haven't read that anyone hasn't been able to see Gara initially in all the research I've now done (on forums and video comments) as a result of the trouble I had acquiring this coveted pet.
As I just eluded...this is really a two part process the first leg of which, (gathering the necessary items to craft the Spirit Effigy) is more difficult or time consuming than the second (getting the Void Lantern, entering the void through the sword in the "Great Tree Valuundira" then killing Xan and ultimately taming Gara). After you complete the first leg by placing the crafted Spirit Effigy at the grave site there is a brief interlude which is just reading the lore of Mother Om'ra and her relationship with Gara as her first and most beloved pet then "The Lord of Glass" or Xan (which ever you want to call him) appears and takes Gara into the Void with him.
You completely, but unintentionally mislead your viewers by assuming, and then stating this process is potentially glitched out and in your defense I've read on Blizzard's forums that people have had a LOT of trouble with this acquisition. I even read one post on Blizzard's forums where a player stated that after there second ticket was opened about their trouble (first ticket got the brush off) they finally got a GM to play their toon for about an hour to get it "unglitched" to make Gara reappear so they could complete the task of taming this bitch! I wonder if that is even true, but who knows...
I really don't think it's glitched at all, but after she disappeared I thought it had glitched out on me and started trying to figure out what to do. That's where I kind of fell down the rabbit hole so to speak and spent a lot of unnecessary time trying to figure out a "glitch" that wasn't a "glitch" at all. You don't explain what to do at all after dropping the Spirit Effigy. Instead you just say, "You need to do all that stuff".
I deviated from your video to try to research how to get Gara to reappear after she's taken into the void by Xan, and that's where I ultimately gave up after even destroying the berries from my bag and going back and getting them again to try to make Gara reappear. Lol! I was even about to go gather all the items again, but decided to try your solution to the "glitch" first because I can't fly in Draenor, (I took a break from the game during this Xpac and started back again in Legion) and gathering all that crap to craft the Spirit Effigy again was too time consuming. I think the reason a GM or higher has never commented on the 3 page thread of all these reported problems on Blizzard's forums is because ultimately Blizzard knows this is just people not realizing that this is two parts and you have to complete the part that you call a "solution" to the "glitch" of not seeing Gara to being with. Again, in everything I read and watched today I've never read anyone saying that Gara was never at the grave site for them to begin with.
In conclusion I want to say I'm sorry for this long post. I tried to be as diplomatic about it as I could and am not trying to bash or troll you here. I just wanted to outline my experience after relying upon your video initially for acquiring this pet. It's very confusing and misleading. I also posted this to try to help anyone else who watches this and thinks any of this process as of today (almost 3 months after you posted this) is "glitched". If I had watched these two other videos that focus solely on how to tame this one pet first as opposed to yours I would have never even thought this process was glitched in the first place and subsequently would have saved a ton of time. Incidentally neither of the other two videos that I will post on my profile if anyone wants to watch them (don't want to do you that way and post them in the comments of your video) mentioned anything about this process being glitched. They just present the two leg process as the overall things you have to do to tame this pain in the ass, but very cool pet.
I hope there are no hard feelings on your part Cal and you'll leave this comment up. Like I said I think the video overall is awesome and again thank you for making it. As far as I'm concerned all the rest of the spirit pets I'll tame/acquire with the help of your video will more than make up for the trouble I've had with the most difficult of these you've outlined to tame. "All's well that ends well" as the old adage goes and I hope this helps someone in their taming of this BEAST!!!
for the ankha and magria, where is the quest line start?
Anyone taming the porcupines after 9.0 you won't be able to walk up and do it because you need to damage it to get rid of a buff it has. Problem is even without any armor on I was one shotting it. So to avoid that you need to get rez sickness with no armor on and just hit it until the buff goes away and then you can tame it.

I followed exactly what you said to do, burned the effigy on the disturbed grave, some dead dude comes out tells you how he died, and such. Thought gara would be mine so I left, got about ten feet away and Gara fell dead and disappeared.. Not sure what I need to do to call him back.

Just boosted a hunter to 110 on Friday. And i have allways been so tempted to lvl a hunter just becouse of these pets:P And now that i got a 110 hunter i thought it would be super cool to get some of these! Yesterday i went to loque! Flew around for 3 hours and i fcking got him! And today i logged on and thinking that i could look for another one! I got to Grizzly Hills to look for Arcturis while i was eating. I was sitting there for a few min but then i had help a friend with a key. BUt when i logged back in Arcturis was standing infront of me xD talk about luck!!!

The box summoned killed him as soon as I made the totem never had the chance to tame him do you know why?
Just so people know, you must be lvl 65 BM to tame them, but as far as I can tell to get the SW and Org beasts you need to be 110 to see the feather or eggshell. Hard lesson I learned yesterday when I sat for a couple hours, saw no feather, then a Max lvl Hordie swooped in, clicked what I couldn't see, and one shot me.

@@truthseeker508 I don't doubt this regarding the damage (I'm a new hunter and just acquired Gara today and have no other spirit beasts as of yet) but you definitely sacrifice some utility in BFA if you go with one of these spirit beasts because you can't change their talents. Are all Spirit Beasts not "tanks" or the "tenacity" spec? Again, I'm asking because I don't know...
The other two specs for pets are "Ferocity" and "Cunning". Both of these are labeled as "damage" and Ferocity has "Primal Rage" and "Predator's Thirst" which are both utilities that not only increase damage for your but your entire party. By that logic I would say a pet that is Ferocity pets would do the most damage as a result of these very valuable single target/single party utilities. Apart from that I would concede that they all do the same damage. Cunning is clearly a little more PVP based type pet.

Lol im sure it took hours. I just tamed Ghostcrawler. Felt bad for a bloak who was out there with me for 2 days. I just happened to get out of a dungeon and did my patrol and booom he was there. Right after I tame him, he just so happend to be right behind me
@@bgizze01 I got Ghost Crawler right away. Arcturis I capped server first. Loque'nahak, and Skoll, I still haven't gotten, despite going out there for the last ten years. Terror Spinner (not a spirit beast, but a Northrend rare) took me 8 years before he finally spawned for me.
@@wikdjester961 dannnnnggg still haven't got Loque. Its a hard pet i was trying on this hunter and saw like 3 hunters per spawn point. ... I did tame him on my 3 other hunters tho. Best time i have seen and has worked for me is early morning or early during day throughout the week

Can you find Gara on a boosted character?
Yeah. The only baseline requirements are lvl 100+ and be in BM. From there, it's pretty much an unofficial quest of sorts. There are a few guides of how to do it online, so it shouldn't be too difficult for you.
I found her. Just needed to get through the Warlords introduction, but had all the flight paths so it wasn't too difficult.

Just for reference, you need to be level 80 now (he's 82) to be able to tame him since they made level scaling a thing. Just in case anyone was wondering.
For Ban'thalos. There is a tree you can land on the pinnacle of that is just outside his flight path but in range to target. I have never had any problems with knock back kicking me out of the tree.

Loki was hell for me I would camp him for days spawns in I start taking a pissed of hunter would log in see me taking and gets mad and kills him or people who already had it would took 6 days to get him
