  • This poor S2000 sat at a dealership while they ' Tried ' to figure it out.
They just installed new parts hoping for a solution.
    Injectors
    MAP sensor
    IAT sensor
    Coils
Throwing parts at a problem rarely works. That's why we recommend a Specialist. ie, Someone that knows the car very well.
We did track down some bad wiring and replaced and even added grounds as an added measure.
Custom also wanted a new Clutch Masters Clutch with the Install kit and Shifter rebuild.

Any shop can throw an exhaust or turbo kit on but it takes a real technician to diagnose and out things back to OEM. Y’all are a dying breed of honest work done right the first time. Kudos. 👏🏻

A shop is only as good as the technician working on your vehicle. Most of the time shops get bad names because of 1 person, which is sad and unfortunate. I myself am a mechanic for a major tire chain and some stores have bad reputations and some don't. I always have the same mentality you do, be as honest to the customer as you can be and I even catch myself doing little TLC things that I don't NEED to do to get the job done but i I treat it like it's my own car. I still get paid the same regardless of what I do. Just helps me sleep at night. I will say about 50% of the customers do appreciate what I do when I tell them. I think about a year ago I did a lift on a ram truck and I washed the truck for the guy, was not required what so ever. Even my boss asked me what I was doing lol. I said I am just giving the truck a quick wash, guy spent 6k on a lift and wheels and tires and I just couldn't send it out the door dirty.... took me 15 min and guy was even surprised. Made my day. I always think about you when I do stuff like that. I always love the videos guys! Keep doing what you do! 💪💪💪

      Not even with "current" models.
"Computer, tell me which compute unit my customer will pay for next." Dealerships are no mechanics. I went to Honda for a big rattle and they could not even diagnose a shock that had leaked.
"We hear nothing"... Went for a randomly working ac and they charged me for a brand new condenser. My condenser was already brand new. F dealerships.

    • @richardgodoy4373
      @richardgodoy4373 Месяц назад +3

The issue is most good techs leave the dealer because of the lack of work and the flat rate system. The dealers have a hard time finding techs because they want to pay them as little as possible so they can keep most of the money from the shop rate for themselves. So they are left with moving people from the car wash and porter positions into the shop as “techs” and you end up with people not knowing how to diagnose vehicles and vehicles not being repaired properly.

Also i been a honda tech for 21 years. All these dealerships push out the older higher paid veteran techs to replace them with kids that cheat on the online training courses that cant fix cars... Out of 25 good techs we have 5 left with a bunch of kids that think there hot shit... 😢 @333KINGPIN33

This is the absolute biggest reason why we need to have private repair shops who specialize in in the nitty gritty things that dealers WON'T do... I can't tell you how many times I get a problem sent to me at my car audio shop because the dealership couldn't find a solution to a problem.. give me a wire diagram and a multimeter and yes, there's time involved so it's not cheap... But if you have your problem fixed without going from place to place I think it's worth it!

  • @Jglivermr2

that basic to check.. thats literally one of the first things you do check and it literally takes a few seconds.. The incompetence is astounding.. I have seen this personally. They put 3 motors in one car all of the motors had the same issue one cylinder they said wasnt working. There was no way all those motors were bad. The last one I said wait a scond.. Pulled the injector plug and yup the thats what it was. The pin in the injector plug on cylinder three was pushed up and not connecting properly at the injector. They wasted dozens of hours on putting 3 different motors in. I literally said wtf is wrong with yall

There was only 1 Team to find and fix that issue. It's called LHT. And the details you showed regarding the Gearbox, dealer shops would have ignored/overseen it.
One technical question regarding the Gearbox: The AP2 Gearbox is shorter in Gears than the AP1, despite 6th gear. Is there anything I need to consider when switching from AP1 to AP2 except the connection to the shaft, due to different bolt sizes? I would love to have the AP2 Gearbox in my European AP1.
