    • @jojomojo9823

I grew up drinking hot tea(Earl Grey) with lots of whole milk and sugar in it. We drank it like coffee, and the tea bags got boiled right in the pot with the water, so the tea was strong and bitter if we drank it plain. We had cows, so the milk had lots of cream, and that made that hard-boiled tea so very good! We used just plain old white, grocery store sugar or 3 or 4 sugar cubes if we happened to have them. The brown sugar and vanilla from this recipe would really be luscious !! With fall and winter coming on, I see a steaming cup of London Fog in my future!

I may try your milk mixture- it looks good! I make my London Fog a little differently. I use loose leaf Earl Grey, which makes a big difference in the quality of the tea and is actually more cost effective because with higher quality tea you can steep the same leaves for more infusions. With loose leaf you can also customize what you mix into the infusion more, so I also steep dried lavender with the tea. That infuses the whole latte with lavender flavor instead of just using it for garnish on the top! I also don’t bother with whipped cream, but I froth my milk mixture.

    🌸 Tip from UK 🇬🇧
Make pot of tea, pour hot water to warm the teapot, & throw away the water
Put boiling water into pot with tea
It’s best to use loose tea,I love earl grey, some people love rich red tea like Yorkshire tea instead
But I love the beautiful distinctive notes from earl grey, I sometimes will blend it with apple fruit tea
Don’t steep it too long once it’s in there in hot water start pouring tea for yourself and company
Enjoy ☺️ it goes well with ginger biscuits or shortbread ones, even better home made
I love mine with scone, cream & strawberry conserve 😋

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I have no idea why that came up in my feed, but you literally changed the way I drink tea. I didn't even know what "London fog" is, and now I drink it several times per week. I made it for my family, too, and they loved it - also, I'm sending this video to anyone who seems moderately interested. It's divine! Little pleasures like this make life worth living. :)

Took me a while but i recall a similar drink called cowboy coffee. Not as fancy but similar process. 1 cup brewed coffee your choice. (Think i used Foldgers and Seattles Best) 1 cup heated milk. 2 oz Bulliet Bourbon - brown sugar to taste. Stir. Enjoy. [Zero vanilla lavander or cinnamon]...i was very skeptical at first but after i gave it a go 😬😬😬😬😬 A cold winter will never be the same without. Flat out so good it was dangerous! Plus it went great with a cigar. Anyway curious enough to try this elixir of yours. Thank you for sharing. ✌️😋

I used to order London Fog daily until the local Starbucks where I could pre-order my drink was closed last year. So I made my own drink in a similar but simpler way. I make the tea with a tea bag of early grey or lady grey and mix it with steamed milk (from a milk frother). I don't use sugar because milk is already sweet, and I don't like sugary drinks. The whole process takes about 5-10 minutes. But I still miss the local Starbucks - it's always better to have someone make drinks for me :)

My favourite afternoon pick me up is a London Fog. I was first introduced to it by my daughter in law in Vancouver at a Starbucks. Being an Earl Grey fan I was all in but only ever enjoyed one when at a Starbucks or such. I only just recently started to make my own at home. I like to add extra lavender (food grade) and I prefer oat milk. I didn’t know about the vanilla! Canadian, eh? Brilliant! 😊
