Oh, bless this guy! My father was a single parent and it wasn't always easy for him since he was battling depression. He was always in and out of jobs but he still managed to raise me the best he could. I only saw my mother 1-2 times a year so those times I needed her, he filled those shoes. When I became depressed myself, he knew how to handle it. He taught me so many helpful skills and also taught me how to be compassionate towards others. I love him so much.

It’s been really rocky because for a long time she couldn’t quite understand what mental illness was seeing that she was raised in Japan and I was raised in America. There is a stigma against it there. We are now pretty much on the same page and it’s great. And my dad, well, he is cool as always.

Maybe they thought there could be improvements. Disliking doesn't mean you dislike the people in the video, it means you dislike the production. I didn't dislike, but I can see how there could be stylistic differences for some people. I personally didn't care for the country music, and I thought the end of his day was rushed, we didn't see him doing chores or tucking her into bed, etc. His day looked pretty easy, which is not the desired point of the video. Single parents have a lot to do, and that message wasn't conveyed as clearly as some other channel's.

Makes me think of my dad. I was already grown and out of the house at 20 years old when my mom died. My little sister is autistic, nonverbal, and cannot live unassisted. My dad didn't force me to care for her, instead taking over and doing it himself. He said he didn't wanna make me do it when I was just starting my life and he wanted my little sis to have the best care he could give. He now cares for my grandmother (his mom) who will be 100 this November. I feel like I don't do enough.

On top of that she helped raising me in my first years of childhood because both my parents had to work long hours to support themselves and me. Single parents are amazing! I have my admiration for them!

The parent who has the kind and by law has the rights to raise it gets all the help from the services even its the mother or the father! As a clinical lawyer I deal with these kind of cases and in asien countries especially korea, china the law is more supportive to men to get the custody of children and single mothers have also a stigma!! When you become a parent you have to be close and help your kind! Both parents must raise children but in general mostly mothers do the hard work! Have you listened what he said when he was asked whats the difficulty and answered its not easy for him to meet with his friends now? When he had a wife did that easily!! Is trully that the most serious difficulty he has as a single father? Thats the reality for most single mothers!! Good for him to stay with his daughter but thats the natural thing to do!!!
