    The prop turned out great... I really like the details you build into the prop! Can you animate the hands and/or head? I think having it move inside there would bump the creepy factor up by 10.
    So you asked if others used the "Try Me" button... yes, that is how I hacked a lot of props... I have several ways I got them to work. I've since retired my 4017 auto sequencer that could fire up to 8 props I have relays inside... it was a lot of work to build... and you set the sequence rate with pots, and after cycling from 1-10 it would recycle and reset after a time... I built a wired remote control this was done all electronics and you "programmed" the firing events with dip switches. The next iteration was with an Arduino Mega and I had a manual control panel that I could fire manually from a central location, and it had a sequential mode that fired them automatically.
    The next generation was individually controlled props, but a remote control system, a house control that could lock them out when not in use, or I could reset all the props for a new group coming through, and I have a house light mode that would lock out the props (safe mode) and allow me to make adjustments, or help someone if there's a problem... These are pneumatic DIY props, video projections, a fog machine, etc. and I have gotten away, mostly, from store-bought, and if I use store bought props I've long ago gutted them for use with my own electronics.
    I have some nice homemade controller stuff, if you want to discuss in email, please find my channel in the about and you can find my gmail account... seems like you're in the market for some "try me" auto sequencers and I have no use for my old one... so maybe we can work something out?

      Thank you.
      I did think of animating the skeleton but was trying to keep it simple, so i didn't have issues with it during the walk throughs.
      I would be interested in some way of automating some of my stuff. I thought about getting a couple of those pee a boo fright props. But haven't made the commitment yet. Ill get in touch thank you

      @@Paulsprops-dc4mt Peek-a-boo's are pricey for what they are, but if you don't do the programming then in some ways it makes it easy. What those do is record a sequence and some even record motor movements... I bought one to play with... I'm a firmware engineer so I look at things very differently than most haunters. I can write the code I need in my sleep LOL... but I realize that's me and my skill level, not everyone has that... but I try and help others, I really enjoy doing that... for me that's fun too!

      Im not tech savvy to where i can do programming. Im very old school when i do my stuff. I've been doing Halloween stuff and basic electrical, mechanical stuff for about 25 years. Im no pro, but i enjoy doing this for kids.

    Looks Great , Appreciate the time it takes - making and posting the video's. That Ghost prop is cool though.

      Thank you,
      Im still on the fence with it. But i have a couple more months to think about it

    Would have liked to have seen the original ghost, before you switched gears. Some movement in the skeleton’s arms would take it to the next level, IMHO. GREAT job.

      After i posted the video, i thought that. I should have shown the original before switching but was too late at that point. Im still going back and forth on it, though.

    Wow epic I absolutely love it very well made and put together my honest opinion on the Halloween prop inside would be the skeleton with different lighting like a green light and like having it to lunage outward coming from the broken mausoleum that would look pretty cool and more scarier coming from the broken part of the mausoleum overall I absolutely love the make

      @rhysnybo3420 thank you. After i posted this video, i changed my mind and made a flying crank ghost and put that inside instead. So it had a floating ghost inside.

    That turned out really great! Your extra touches really elevate the effect. My take away from this video is to not be afraid to pivot midway if things aren't working out the way you originally envisioned. I tend to get bogged down in the planning stage, wanting to make sure everything will come together perfectly to avoid false starts and detours. I need less planning and more doing. Quick question - how are you anchoring the mausoleum to the ground? Does it just come out for Halloween night? We sometimes have an issue with wind here.

      Thank you,
      Yes, never be afraid to rethink how it's turning out. I do it a lot. Normally, i cut that out. But i want others to know that it doesn't always go as i want all the time.
      What i do is i put an eye hook or a loop that i screw into the top wood pieces. Put one or two dog augers in the ground depending on the size of the prop. I put these inside so they are not seen. And run a small rope through the eye hook, tying them to the ground. These will be out on display for at least three weeks, so i have to make sure mine do blow over as well.

    Wow super awesome you nailed it! What’s the size of the pics for the pillars ? How thick

      Im not sure what you mean by pics. But the pipes are 4" thin wall drain pipes to help keep weight down. And they are just under five feet tall so i could get two out of a ten foot piece.

    Very good tutorial, Paul! I never knew about the demo button hack. How did you figure that out?

    • @Paulsprops-dc4mt
      @Paulsprops-dc4mt  4 месяца назад +1

      Thank you. I just figured that if it worked that way, i should be able to make the wire as long as i need it, and it should still do the demo mode. You could also hook it to one of those foot pads so you dont have to watch it, and it will still go off when it needs to for the best effect.

      @Paulsprops-dc4mt I didn't know you had connected it with longer wire. I thought you just made the wire longer like an antenna.I thought it was going off wireless.lol stupid me.

      @Paulsprops-dc4mt  4 месяца назад +1

      You can get a wireless trigger that will work as well. I just did longer wires. Fail proof that way.

      I ended up doing a flying crank ghost in it. Just has a better look to it.
