You should do a Kickstarter for a really simple but powerful smart watch, with just a simple lcd showing the time, that's it. But it has thing like the nfc, sd card, and maybe a vibration motor hooked up to an electronic compass so it vibrates when you look north, button operated of course lol
Vibrates when you look north? That sounds like a hellish way of navigating. If anyone would actually need to navigate with a compass they’d never want to do it without visuals
BenRangel besides that, you can find out where North is using the sun relative to any watch hand position, you don't need a smart watch with sensors and a vibration motor at all for that.

You know when you first showed the Antenna i felt like you were showing a Induction or EMF energy harvesting method to power the watch without any batteries but just with the power from electromagnetic fields. Should be low powered enough to keep the watch running & also storing a little energy in a capacitor inside. That would be a really cool watch. Something like this could work well as a hidden RubberDucky that you can hook-up to any PC at any time. The same MicroSD can hold the payloads while mini "HID" adapter does the rest. I thought of fiddling with my good ol' casio, though I lack the skills to make it properly happen - good to see someone already did.
