I think the big reason all the ACC teams are struggling is lower NIL fund… UNC, Duke, UVA, Louisville, Syracuse, Miami, NC State are all ACC teams who have gone to multiple sweet 16 and at least one elite 8 or higher in the last 10 years. 5 years ago, these teams would have won 60-70% of the games matching up vs Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss… But now ACC teams would lose 80%… I think it’s clear that SEC teams and Big 10 have more NIL$$$ and many players who in the past would have gone to ACC schools based on basketball reputations are no longer going there. You can’t blame the players for going to school who will pay more…. The ACC schools need to open their wallets. That’s the reality we are in right now

Like Aaron said, missing out on big guys in the off-eseason are killing this team now. No Amando Bacot is walking thru that door.
They're definitely missing the Tourney this season and that sucks. 2 out of 4 seasons with him running the show is gonna put big time pressure for him to be fired.

How about if we actually think like ACTUAL FANS of UNC's program and know that this team has a lot of talent but different teams have different levels of talent, height, and motivation. The target on the back of UNC is always there to boost the motivation of the opposition. There is no need to doubt the coaches, who must teach, plan, monitor, manage injuries, and recruit, for a team that sometimes has some adversity. How about just cheer them on and support them.

My wife and I attended the Carolina-Stanford game. The Tar Heels played a relatively decent game. Obviously this was not quite enough to earn the victory. The Heels’ Achilles heels are obvious. It’s a combination of lack of a bona fide center and power forward. Stanford 7’ 1”center Maxime Raynard dominated the game offensively and defensively. Jalen Washington and Ven-Allen Lubin are trying. But Wash plays too soft and Lubin is undersized. Withers has not contributed much. My take is the coaching is less of an issue than Hubert’s inability to recruit solid players in the 4 and 5 positions.

Here's the reality for Carolina. They are not going to make the tournament this year. The Stanford game put the nail in the coffin. This is Hubert's fourth year. His first team really wasn't very good. They just went on a run at the end of the year. Last year the team, I believe, was 29==8. That was a good year. But look, they have Wake Forest in Winston Salem coming up. They probably won't win. They aren't beating Duke. But Carolina will not fire Hubert Davis, that's just not what they do. Yes, the fans aren't happy, but Hubert probably has at least two more years before they would make a move. He'll have all the time to fix this problem. But if this continues next year, well, we'll see. But for UNC, the basketball program is the crown jewel of their athletics dept. When people think of the TarHeels they think basketball.

Robinson was released and then hired on as the assistant coach on Tommy Lloyd's staff at Arizona. @ExhaultedPoobah i’m from the state. I haven’t lived there in a long time, but I grew up Tar Heels fan. I had a dream of playing for Dean Smith. I know who he is. I know this school and I understand the Carolina way but unless you can name a coach that they can hire that’s gonna be a superstar that’s from the university. They need to change it up.

@@AntonioBaker-zk8zu Japanese proverb: If you get on the wrong train, get off at the next stop. The longer you take to get off the more expensive the return trip. UNC is on the wrong train, and needs to get off.
If HD goes, his replacement could be someone with a Carolina connection, like Bill Belichick had - he held up an old Carolina #38 FBall jersey worn by I think his grandfather. This is not an NCAA tournament team, and that is not going to go down well with fans or the Powers that Be. Time to get off that train and get on the right one.

Coach Davis is bringing NBA talent back to UNC! when is last time UNC had NBA top ten talent. No team or program is going to dominate College B Ball anymore, have you heard of NIL! the Heels will be OK. I repeat google Caleb Wilson, he is coming because of Coach Davis! OF COURSE Hubert Davis’s job is in jeopardy. This SHOULDN’T be a questions. Former coaches coaching at their Alma Mater DOESN’T work. Patrick Ewing, Kenny Payne, Juwan Howard were FIRED from their Alma Maters bc they were BAD coaches, especially Kenny Payne. Hubert Davis is a BAD coach, can’t believe UNC hasn’t fired this DUMB coach. Shows UNC is NOT taking their basketball program seriously. Mike Woodson is on the HOT SEAT at his Alma Mater, Indiana. This is EXACT same thing with UNC

One quality Big and most of those losses would have been wins. This is the era of SEC/B1G Beaucoup Bucks NIL, and UNC is not getting the players it used to because the SEC especially is buying them all. Is that Hubert Davis' fault? The Stanford loss was ugly, but most of the losses were to-the-wire against highly ranked teams. UNC needs to fix the roster problem - no quality Bigs - and see what HD can do with it. You can jump on Caliperi for not producing with all-world talent, but that is not the same situation that HD is dealing with.
